First off very very polite people. No issues with that at all. They came on time. They kept me in the loop and the communication was very good. I have a brand new boiler and I’m so happy with it. They are patient people and the job was not as long as people say it would be. They came to work and I had no issues.
Comfort Controllers was referred to me by a neighbor and I was very happy with my initial consultation with Jon, one of the owners. When his technicians arrived to look at my HVAC I met them in the driveway, wearing a mask. One of them asked "oh, do we need to wear masks?" and went back to the truck to put them on. I explained to them that we have a family member who is high risk and that they'd need to wear their masks in the house.
The next day the same two returned and began installing our new heat pump. A third tech arrived a little later. I went to the basement to check on them a couple of hours into the job and found them all without masks. I again explained we have a high-risk family member and asked them to put them on. I got an eye-roll, but they did so. I was very unhappy and called Jon. He said he was shocked, but that the masks are really hot to work in and that's probably whey they'd taken them off. It's 65 degrees in our basement. I had just returned from picking blueberries for an hour in 90-degree heat while wearing a mask. This is not hard. Doctors and nurses do it every single day.
Not 15 minutes after my call to Jon, the tech Carl walked out of the house with his mask not fully covering his face. I told the guys to pack their stuff because they were potentially endangering my family. I again called Jon to tell him I was not allowing the guys to finish the job because they were not following safety practices mandated by the state and requested by me as a customer and homeowner. He explained they were nearly finished and that he would like to finish the job if they promised to keep their masks on. I very grudgingly agreed.
What happened next was like something you'd see in a viral video.
Carl began shouting at me, telling me I had no authority to tell him what to do, that I should shut up and let them do their jobs and that I was being paranoid.
Shaking with anger, I called Jon again and told him what happened and that they needed to leave. Immediately.
As they were leaving, one of the other techs apologized for Carl's behavior and said it was very unprofessional.
Later in the day, Jon and I spoke again and we agreed that the two techs who had not been hostile could come back the following day and complete the job if they followed all the safety protocols, including wearing PPE.
The next day, with the job completed (and I should note here that I'm very happy with the work that was done), the techs sprayed down the surfaces they'd touched and apologized again for the previous day.
In a follow-up chat with Jon, he noted that they'd had a team meeting to discuss proper protocols for PPE and based on complaints by some of the team about wearing masks, decided to buy new equipment for the crew. He also said Carl was given some time off to reflect.
I really hope all of this is true, and I think that, were it not for the pandemic, I would be writing a 5-star review here. The quality was great, but customer service is critical, and that includes ensuring the safety of customers. Especially now.
Comfort controllers are a very good company! Responsive time was very quick. Quality of work is excellent.! They really know the business! I would use them again!
They were great from start to finish. Quick to come out and check things out, quick for a quote and quick to get the job done. The employees that were here we're all kind and respectful. I'm more than happy with our experience
90 degree weather and AC broke. The crew came out same day fixed everything beautifully before I even knew it. Also gave advice on how to avoid future issues and other recommendations. Prompt, shows up on time, doesn't kill the bank and even followed up a few days later to make sure I was still staying cool. Highly recommend!
They were great. My hvac system stopped working. When I called he was here in less than an hour. The price was affordable. I will definitely use them again.
Top notch company. True to their word and go the extra mile for their customer. They came to fix my heater on Christmas Day! Can’t say enough good things about them. Recommend them 100%
Very friendly & very professional came out right before the snowstorm to service the HVAC system to make sure it was working properly again. I would definitely use their service again and recommend them to anybody that has any HVAC problems
They are right on time, honest, and profession. This company saved me from another 4 hours late and intent to take advantage of me. I appreciate their service and will keep using them for maintenance.
I had Mike, John, and Justin out for diagnosis, repair, and replacement. All three were very responsive, showed up on time, finished in a timely manner, and answered all my questions. Highly recommend!
