My wall unit conked out on me and Mike's AC came to the rescue. I called early in the morning on a Saturday, hoping to get on their radar first thing. I explained my situation over a few calls and texts, and found Howard and Jule's to be extremely knowledgeable, accommodating and responsive. My wall unit was a little tricky to access since it had "built ins" surrounding it but they were able to provide a solution and I had a new AC unit installed and the old one removed within 12 hours. I would definitely use them again!

Called Mikes for assistance with a dirty mold ridden window unit and was surprisingly greeted with a answer that didn’t involve selling me a service. Rather I was given a honest cost saving response on how to perform the maintenance at home, and then plenty of other fantastic educational material. Far more than I could have asked for considering there was no profit for them. You will be the first ones I, or any of my friends or family, call for any future AC needs based off of this alone. Greatly appreciated

Jules Lupowitz is your guy! I can always tell when someone’s work is worth what they say it is when a bad job is NOT AN OPTION. When just “getting it done” or “giving the customer what they want” is not in their playbook. That’s exactly what you’ll find here, a good job no matter what!

I called for a small A/C cleaning for mold. Mike's was extremely helpful. He explained to me that it's not worth my money to bring it to them since he needs to charge a big service fee. So instead he gave me a bunch of free advice on how to open it, and to use white vinegar to clean it. It was super helpful, and saved a bunch of money. Thanks Mike's!

When it rains it pours my dog needed to see a vet and my air conditioner decided to stop working during the first day of the heat wave. I called Mike's knowing I couldn't afford to get both my air conditioner fix and my dog. But I called anyway. I wasn't expecting Jules to ask me all the questions, ask for photos, and give instructions on how to fix it myself.
I wrote everything down and my grandson and I took it apart and fixed the problem.
I'm so Grateful to God and Jules for Making it possible for me to get through the heat wave and take my dog to the vet.

I will be recommending them to everyone!!!

Jules let me know it wasn’t to my advantage to pay for my little window units’ cleaning. He also instructed me on how to clean it myself since the cost of him cleaning it was more than buying a new machine.

Needed my AC repaired and they came in the next morning. Quick service and the unit was re-activated immediately. After that, what unfolded was a series of negative customer experiences. Three days later, I noticed a charge of $1200 + on my credit card which, added to the $250 deposit they charged when I originally called, amounted to a total of approximately $1450. When I called to inquire, they told me that they'd investigate. After several calls (8 at least!), it turns out that they actually only repaired the unit and did not provide the full service for which I was charged. It took more calls for them to finally say that they'd issue me a partial refund. At the end, they charged me $580. Refund still not showing on my credit card and still waiting for a detailed invoice. Believe that given the inordinate amount of time spent in correcting this situation they should have not only acted faster but also charged me a more reasonable amount. Neither happened. As such, and regrettably so, I'd not recommend using this service.

I have used “Mike’s" (family owned & operated business; owner, Howard) twice for clothes dryer vent cleaning. Last fall, Howard and his able associate cleaned my vent and did an OUTSTANDING job after another company failed miserably (including coming back to try and rectify the problem they created; clothes stopped drying). “Mike’s” went above and beyond: My appointment was scheduled easily and quickly; unlike the other company, Howard came with heavy-duty equipment; he explained what he was doing and why; he pulled my full-size stacked washer/dryer from a tiny closet and squeezed behind (no small feat) and went up to the roof of our five story brownstone (co-op) to clean the vent from there as well (the other company did neither). Now the vent is clean and my clothes are drying. You can tell when someone takes enormous pride in their work and is personally committed to doing the very best for their customers. Howard, his wife Natalie, and their associates, do all that and more.

FINAL NOTE: The mistake I made with the other company is that they mainly clean fireplaces/chimneys but offer the additional service of cleaning clothes dryer vents; I thought I would “kill two birds with one stone” and have them do both. When I had them come back after my clothes stopped drying, the verdict after five minutes was it had to be a problem with the vent piping and I would have to get a contractor to break down the walls. REALLY?? That’s when I called “Mike’s”. Clogged dryer vents are fire hazards so I strongly suggest you use someone qualified. “Mike’s”/Howard did a great job for me and I highly recommend them.

Great guy Haword . We just picked up our AC from his truck and it looks brand new. Howard did an amazing job . We haven't cleaned our AC in 5 years so we brought it inn in bad shape but Howard did an amazing job. I'm very happy with the results and I highly recommend him! Also his buddy the mechanic too seems like a real cool guy. Thanks Haword
