I had a split system installed by Cottam. Blake got the process started and Vin and Hector did the installation. Throughout the seamless process, everyone was responsive to questions, and made sure that we were familiar with the new equipment. Their workmanship was professional and everyone was pleasant to work with. I would not hesitate to recommend Cottam in the future.

We just had seven mini-split units installed around our home by Cottam HVAC, Inc. Blake, who was very patient and knowledgeable, walked us through the project and helped us to make decisions. We had multiple meetings with him and never felt rushed or pressured. Our installers were George and David. We could not be more pleased with the manner in which they worked throughout the house. They were polite, neat, considerate both of home and home owner, efficient, and took pride in their work. George and David communicated with us on a regular basis and kept us informed of their progress and future plans. We would highly recommend this company for the quality of their work and their professionalism.

We have a yearly maintenance contract with Cottam Air Conditioning. Juan came to service our units this year. He was very nice, as well as super knowledgeable and efficient. We have a unit on our third floor high up above a stair case. Juan found an efficient and creative way to service the unit. Well done and thank you!

Our experience with Cottam has been great from the start. From the professionalism during visits and through installation. Blake was great in walking us through the installation options and rebates. George and Ervin did a fantastic job with the installation of our mini-split ductless units. Their work was very clean and thorough each day and always kept us informed of any potential concerns. My wife and I live in a house that was in need of an A/C upgrade. After a professional and thoughtful evaluation by Austin, we decided on a ductless A/C with supplemental heating. He was thorough and, without pressure, offered us several alternatives at various price points. He was very responsive to our questions and concerns, and worked closely with us on a final decision. The installation was done by George and David, two thoughtful and professional technicians who did their best to minimize the disruption (one of us works at home). These two could not do enough to make us comfortable with the installation -- thoughtful is an understatement! (I would hire them in a minute!) Finally, when it came time to start the system. Miguel (aka Mike) provided us with a thorough overview of the system and answered all of our questions in a patient manner. His knowledge of how the system works is nothing less than amazing! Kudos to Cottam for hiring such great people and holding on to them!

Cottam is a reliable and respectable small, Bronx family business and I am so thrilled I had the opportunity to work with them on my heating needs. I look forward to relying on Cottam for years to come and would recommend them to anyone in NYC, especially The Bronx.

I had been looking for a new, more sustainable heating system in my home since July 2021. I originally contracted with Yost and Campbell as I thought an oil to gas conversion was my best bet and Cottam doesn’t do those; however, from the start, Yost did not give me the service I deserved. They didn’t clearly lay out all of my options or the process.

After 8 months of waiting for a new heat system from Yost — living with a dirty loud and on-its-way-out boiler from 1950(!!), I happened to see Blake Cottam on the street, and we got to talking about my heat situation. Cottam assured me he could help.

Cottam came over a day later and sat at my kitchen table and asked me a bunch of questions about my current and future home plans. They took the time to know me and my house to help define the heat source that would work best for me. They recommended heat pumps as the most sustainable and better option for me, and after doing my own research I agreed.

I contracted with Cottam and throughout the process I was pleasantly surprised. The technicians assigned, Jeff, George and David, were dedicated, respectful, and had a good sense of humor. They brought me in to confirm design and use decisions and took time to answer any questions I had. I heard them sharing their tips with each other and applauding each other for the way they completed parts of the project. It was a real team effort and they each showed a growth mindset, dedication to the work, and person-ability I appreciated.

Jeff, George, David and Felix also respected my home. Each morning they knocked on my door with a nice hello and overview of the plans for the day. They took their shoes off when they weren’t in the work area and left their work tools in a nice pile each night - never leaving garbage around like I’ve found with other contractors.

My experience with Cottam was enjoyable from start to finish and I would recommend them to anyone who appreciates family businesses with employees dedicated to their work. While Cottam is smaller than Yost, they surely punch above their weight and gave me the service I deserved.

Total rip off! Charged me $379 to install a $50 thermostat after making me wait 4 and 1/2 hours for the tech to show up.

We have an old stucco house with good bones. Blake and Mike took the time, listened to our requests, and designed a hybrid system of ducts and split units to meet our cooling and supplemental heating needs. The installation team was top notch. They treated our house with the highest respect. The office handled the opening and closing of the required permits with our town. And, they know how to navigate Con Edison's various rebate programs. A great experience. And this summer at home with the new cooling has been fantastic.

Great, professional and responsive HVAC company. Cottam installed a ductless mini split heat pump and AC system in our house. The communication was great, the end result looks a functions great. This is truly a five star company and I could not recommend them more highly. From the office workers, managers, workman to the owner everyone was clear, friendly and efficient. Cottam performed a Leak test in my home and I couldn't be happier with their service. The technician was professional and meticulous while performing the job, and everybody at the office was very informative and polite.
