I utilize Gold Medal for all my HVAC issues as well as other projects that arise, such as plumbing and electrical work. I have been very satisfied with the level of professionalism, as was the case with Ramon on 6/16 and 6/30.

Jose did a great job with the electrical work we needed done. He is a credit to the company. We had made multiple calls to local electricians without response then decided to give Gold Medal a call. Gold Medal answered the phone and booking appt was streamlined and we had someone out to us timely. Would definitely use Gold Medal again in future.

When our sink started leaking at 6:45AM on our second day in our new home, I googled a plumber near me and found Gold Star, which had 24/7 service. I called them and to my surprise, they could send someone out to service us fairly immediately: Charles arrived by 8:45AM! He was kind, professional, and efficient. He explained all our options for repairs, explained other services Gold Star offered (without it feeling like a "sales pitch"), and made sure we were well taken care of. I will absolutely be calling Gold Star for any other maintenance / repair needs!!

After three years of hiring Gold Medal to get a number of jobs and projects done (fixing running toilets, helping diagnose the reason behind a leaking dishwasher, HVAC and heating system cleaning, electric work estimates, etc), we have finally severed our relationship with them.
Estimates for jobs are made up on the fly and pricing is inflated - whenever we ask for a breakdown of parts and labor, we were never given a clear bid, and were told time and time again that it’s not done by Gold Medal.
Huge mistakes have been made and could have ended badly for our home. We had a technician come out to conduct a complimentary cleaning of our HVAC system. We asked for a bid for a compressor that wasn’t working, and he threw out a number and a bid was sent over but of course, parts and labor weren’t broken down into their own line items. The estimate seemed high ($1,500) and he also suggested that we needed to replace a part in the compressor (the unit is only five years old and the diagnosis didn’t make sense). It took the tech an hour to diagnose the issue, in addition to the hour it took him to clean out the system and change our filters, etc. The tech was trying to pressure me into making an appointment to make the necessary repairs, even suggesting that my husband was being stingy or didn’t know the gravity of the situation.
I called in another HVAC expert in; who diagnosed and fixed the issues in 45-50 minutes, and at a fraction of the cost ($380). He also caught a mistake from the Gold Medal tech - a key component having to do with the condensation line - that would have eventually (by the end of summer, the reliable tech estimated) caused a flood in our attic and would have caused water to run down our walls.
I can’t assume that it was done on accident or on purpose - I had a feeling that the tech was under a lot of pressure to diagnose and to book a repair. He wants to keep his job and he had orders to fill, so I can’t blame him. But I do think that the overall structure of the company is the issue and is problematic.
I was also told by a heating tech that my heater was breaking down and that it would need to be replaced. When I told him I would need to get a second opinion and that we couldn’t commit to a repair that was over $16k right off the bat, he began defending the company’s prices, saying that their estimates were high because there are trucks to keep on the road, 24 hour dispatchers to pay, etc. I didn’t want to be stuck with a broken heating system come winter so I asked a reliable heating tech to please give me a bid for replacing my system. He did a thorough check and said that he had a similar system, that it’s good to go for another 15 years and that he would recommend that I keep up with my current system cleaning schedule and it will continue to do its job.
These are just two of many questionable interactions we’ve had with this company. I wanted to have found my go-to techs but it’s come to the point where convenience is no longer worth the high and questionable pricing and the ethics of the company.
The good is that the hey will dispatch techs when you’re in a bind but be careful of pricing and always get a second opinion!

I've always had great experience with Gold Medal - I now use them for everything after having several bad experiences with other contractors. I use them for heating & cooling, and just their technician Jermaine install a water softener. He was professional and explained everything to me, even noticed that my water heater is over 10 years old and not installed properly (so that will be a future visit).

I called many local electricians for days and no one responded. Gold Medal took the call and was out the next day. Great technician answered all my questions and gave me options. Great service!

Joseph Waldron came to check our A/C unit. We heard the motor running & felt air coming out of the unit, but it never cooled. He said the coolant was going into the unit, but not circulating through the condenser. The unit is not quite four years old. Instead of trying to sell us on parts that should be under warranty, he suggested we speak to the installer to do the work. This showed me he is honest & we agreed to a service contract based on his honesty & friendly manner

In may of 2022 we hired Gold Medal to install a third hvac unit in our home. They had previously installed our 2 other units without much of a problem. Our 3rd install has never worked. We called them no less than 15 times to correct the non performing unit. So after taking off from work and countless phone calls and a sweaty summer fall finally came. Now that spring of 2023 is here and hot the unit still does not work. We have had several appts scheduled in the last week which they have canceled. Most recently they called to cancel tomorrow’s appt. I guess I should be grateful they called as their customer service skills are almost as bad as their a/c skills. I’ve filed complaints with the BBB and the Consumer Affairs Dept but to no avail. I have requested a full refund and they can have their equipment back as well as requesting to speak to a manager and owner. Neither individual called. Worst company I have ever dealt with! I would never recommend them ever. I would love to sever ties but they will not return our calls and refund our money. Next step- law suit. Sorry state of affairs that they are allowed to operate in the state.

I recently was having problems with my boiler it stopped working completely so I had no heat in my house. I called gold metal and they immediately sent someone out to check on it which was nice, the guy inspected it for maybe 5 minutes and said it was broken I needed a new one or he could refill it with water for 2000$ But that would be a very temporary fix. So as a home owner it made absolutely no sense to pay 2,000$ to temporarily fix the issue I asked how much it would cost to replace the unit and they sent out another worker (really a salesmen) to measure and give me an accurate quote. The salesman came out and measured and came up with $13,000 to replace the boiler which is crazy expensive to do that but I thanked them and told them I’d like to get other quotes. I hired a plumber to come look at it and in no more then 10 minutes he figured out it shut off because the water level was low he filled it with water and it was completely fine and working the plumber recommended I change a few things on it but he said it should last me another 10-15 years and I don’t need to replace it at all. This plumber didn’t change me a dime to get it up and working. I highly recommend you do not hire these big companies where their workers are working off commission and all they care about is up selling you on things you really don’t need. It’s a horrible way to run your business. Hope this helps save someone from losing thousands of dollars.
After this review the company did reach out to me and refund me the original 100$ that I had paid to have them come out which was nice.
