DO NOT USE COMPANY IF YOU LIKE TO KEEP YOUR MONEY. They've been called out to my home FOUR TIMES in the last 90 days, just for my furnace to continuously go out. Everytime was a different issue for which I had to pay for because they did not diagnose properly the first time. THEN HAD THE AUDACITY TO TRY TO CHARGE ME FOR THE SERVICE CALL AGAIN, EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE HERE THREE WEEKS AGO. I regret using this company. 4 times to my house and my furnace is still out.

I reached out to Ken Hardin because I needed an HVAC contractor that would work with my home warranty. I get it. Contractors don’t like home warranty. But they agreed upfront to work with it, so that was my expectation.

The contractor that came out flat out lied to home warranty and said my furnace never worked since I bought it a few months ago. It’s Michigan. I’ve been running it since the end of September. He then told my wife that we’d have to pay out of pocket for the whole thing or buy a used motor from him and install it ourselves. The only thing that saved the situation was a written home inspection proving that the furnace was operational when we purchased it. If I could have changed contractors at that point I would have.

When I look to do business, you first have to be honest. So Ken Hardin gets a 1 from me.

Your staff from the person taking my initial call to the technician that came to my home was very professional and reassuring with answers to my questions and servicing my furnace. The wealth of information that Aaron provided about our furnace was very helpful and reassuring. We see no reason to ever call another company when we have issues with our heating and cooling. Thank you for saving us thousands of dollars!!

Not really sure if this company does good work...... because they never showed up to do the job. After nine days with no heat, they assured me my job was listed as a priority. The secretary kept apologizing and said they were busy. They never once called me, I had to keep contacting them. I would've just contacted a different company but this was a contract job through Consumers Energy. I had to go through the proper channels. So I'm only giving this company 1 star. Very poor treatment for being "priority. "

Wonderful experience, Ken spent a good amount of time helping me determine what the new part number and correct part was for my older furnace fan motor. It ended up being just a capacitor needing to be replaced instead of the entire fan motor. Highly recommend Ken Hardin's company. They care about you and are affordable.

Thank you Ken Hardin. I needed a part for my older furnace and you looked at it and knew exactly what I needed. You gave me advice and recommendations on how to hook it all up, and it was good advice. Everything seems to be working as it should.
I had went to a half dozen other companies prior to yours. One company had the right part but couldn't tell me how to wire it. When I asked you it just rolled off of your tongue and the answer was simple and easy to understand.
So I am very pleased with your customer service and highly recommend your company. Thanks again I am enjoying having heat again.

Great experience, called at 1:00am furnace had quit and it was getting cold fast. Aaron came out right away, figured out the problem, went back to the shop and got the part and had me up and running in no time. Great guy and reasonably priced for that time of the morning. myself and two children are very appreciative for getting our heat back. Would recommend them highly. Thanks again Aaron.

I was set up with this contractor through consumers because of water heater leak and no hot water. The technician from Ken Hardin came out and very rudely and arrogantly stated he wouldn't even touch it because it wasn't up to code and had to red tag it until it was, (even though consumers had another company out to fix a different issue with it before and never stated anything about it not being up to code). Ok, fine, had a plumber out the very same day to bring it up to code and called consumers back to have them send tech back out to fix the short. Was given a time window between 3-5pm the following day, and 3-5 came and went, we called consumers and Ken Hardin co. And of course Ken Hardin co did not answer because it was after 5pm!! Tech never showed!! So, I called consumers the next morning, they called Ken hardin co and was told by their dispatcher that she had cancelled all calls yesterday due to no technicians 😒 we never received a call stating they cancelled we just waited like desperate morons thinking a company contracted by consumers would at least call their customers and notify them the tech would not be out. NEVER AGAIN will I allow anyone from this company in my home! This has happened before, as I found out by reading their reviews!! If you want someone to show up and actually be professional, do NOT call this place....

Service was quick and professional. John had the furnace back up and running in a very short time after he arrived. Ignitor was bad. He also found a crack in the collector box that was emitting CO. Area where tech worked was left as clean as when he started. Everything was explained and issues shown to me so I would understand what was being done.

Update, 4/21/17: I now have to pay another contractor $923 to have their work done RIGHT. What an incredibly terrible disappointment this has been to hire Ken Hardin for installation.

Re:DON'T do it!!! I hired them to install a furnace this summer (an outdoor packaged unit). First, they left my yard a mess, with scraps of metal, wood and plastic all over. Also, several cigarette butts, and a huge wad of thermostat wire which I found later by it getting caught in my weed whacker. I wrote to them, but was ignored. THEN, when I turned on the heat (for which they had forgot to turn on the gas) I found that my ductwork was leaking bad, warming up my backyard nicely (not good). I contacted them several times over the past month, and they have come out only twice, neither time checking their work, and leaving each time with it still leaking. It seems that once they get their money, you can forget about them completing the job.
UPDATE: It has now been 41 days. The BBB and Lennox has gotten involved, but Ken Hardin's people still continue to fail to service the furnace. They have come out a total of 3 times in 33 days, and have not once checked their work, and have yet to stop the terrible air leaks around their ductwork connections. Every time I call, I get told it will be a day or two, but if that were true, it wouldn't be 3 visits in 41 days!
Update: Well, time to add more. It's been over three months since I last heard from them. I have now gotten Lennox and the Sate of Michigan involved, but so far Ken Hardin has not come to complete the job. I did learn one interesting thing. GET A RECEIPT before paying. They would not give me a final receipt, and now I know why. They never got a permit!!! If they give a receipt, the State would know they did the job and could more easily hold them accountable.
