Hired them for a $40,000 job. Contract for me stated to pay half prior and the rest on completion... Paid half before they started. When 75% of the work was completed, they demanded for all of the remaining payment! Not asked, DEMANDED. Harassing calls from "Kaja", and yet she did not know the progress of the job. Condensate pumps not installed, grills not done, system not powered and she was sure they were ready to receive the rest of the payment! Could not talk to any of the technicians over the phone. After my main contractor on the job convinced me, I paid them the rest of the money and left a $2000 retainer to be paid on completion of the job. On what they called the "last day of job" they demanded that the full $2000 check be on site before they start the work!!! They came when I was not home and did the work anyway, turns out this was not the last day of the job. I did not give them the check. A very upset Sarah/Susan, wife to the owner Paul continued the multiple calls and "strong worded" text messages requesting for a full payment. She assured me they would not return until a check was paid!!! I went ahead and hired someone else to complete the job because I could not deal with this harassment. The person completed the job with courtesy, and professionalism...
They still sent emails and letters harassing me for the $2000 until I warned them that I will be suing them for harassment then they stopped.

During a historic cold snap our pipe burst and I was able to get A&L right out to find and fix the pipe. Price was reasonable and the service was great! I would recommend this company.

I don't write reviews. Most times, companies do their job and it's fine.
A&L continues to go ABOVE AND BEYOND. What I mean is this: 1. They communicate. Regularly. Even if all they're saying is that they are looking into something and they will get back to me tomorrow, they send a note.
2. They are on time. In fact, they've been early for every appointment. But, they tell me they're going to be early and they make sure it's ok.
3. They are clean. This is no small thing, since they've come on several days when my cleaners have just left.
4. They are helpful. And I do mean helpful. They helped me find an electrician for a project, even though they're not involved in that aspect of the project.
5. They are kind. This project has been frustrating and time consuming. Except for the part when I worked with them. The entire team has been helpful, never once made me feel like I was being unreasonable for expecting that a project I started in May should not take until February. And, I should mention that I started with them in January and their piece was done immediately.
I am immensely grateful for their help. They have a customer for life!

They came promptly to inspect my water heater. They live video chatted with the water heater manufacturer, using an iPad, and discovered it was failing (leaking) due to original plumber (not them. A company out of Billerica) had installed the water heater venting upside down, incorrectly, which caused the water heater to begin to fail. They were able to get me on the schedule before Christmas and fixed it all within one day and fixed the venting. I don't know how their price compares to other companies because they are the only company around MetroWest that actually have an office manager who answers the phone and promptly calls people back. Literally other companies only have answering machines and most companies never called me back. One other company called me a week after I left a message. Imagine if I had a plumbing emergency! If you want a company that is there to answer your call and help you asap, I recommend A and L plumbing. They are a family owned company which started in Sudbury and moved to Marlboro. They run the business from a home, detached garage office business. You can drive to their location to pay the bill or chat with the office manager in person. I used them because they are highly recommended in all local Marlborough Facebook resident groups. In addition, I had them clean my furnace. They are the only company to alert me that there was a fire hazard on my furnace. A device that prevents the furnace condensation from freezing in winter was not attached to a device that auto shuts off. The cord was getting too hot. They showed me to unplug it or install a device that could shut it off automatically so it only runs in cold weather. If I kept it plugged in, it could lead to a fire in the attic, where furnace is.

Couldn't have enjoyed the experience more, especially since it was a water heater explosion that needed attending. As you can imagine we were in a frenzied state of repair when they arrived. They were quick to respond, walked me through everything, and had a very professional team that was engaging and pleasant through the process. I can't speak to price, as we didn't do a lot of shopping around, but the value was certainly felt. I don't expect I will be price shopping in the future, as I will be looking to A&L for my future work.

Had a bad leak in my ceiling (hot water fitting had come loose) and they were able to squeeze me in real fast and get me fixed in a matter of hours. Extremely friendly customer service, and James was a very professional and experienced technician. Thanks for the help A&L! Crisis averted!

Reached out to A&L in the middle of a heavy heat wave with a broken A/C issue and they scheduled a service-person to head over early the next morning. Nick was a really nice and knowledgeable guy that clearly explained what was being fixed and how to optimize care for the system to reduce the need of future maintenance. The issue was detected and resolved quickly and the pricing was very fair. Will definitely continue to use them for any related needs.

Paul came to replace the back flow part of the irrigation system . He came on time and finished the job in 30 min and charged me $550 . He told me that the main reason the price is high is because of the part price. After he left I checked the price of the part he installed online and it was $119 . So he charged me $400 plus for the installation . He also broke a part of the irrigation pipe and asked me to call my irrigation company to change it .
When I called him and asked for explanation he said they buy the part from local supplier and charge a flat fee for this.
Overall , to me as someone who trusted them and even did not quote them before coming , it was one of the worse maintenance experiences I have
