I appreciated the professional service that was given prior to and during a recent AC installation. Everyone on the phone was helpful and professional. The technicians were on time and even finished early! The company offered some window units to hold us over until their crew was scheduled.
I recommend AJ Michaels as a best choice for price, service and expertise!

We contacted A.J. Michaels when our water heater was leaking. They were able to send an estimator out within a couple of hours to give us a free estimate and he gave us a price on the spot to replace it. This was our third estimate--including one from our home warranty company--and it was by far the highest quality product as well as the most competitive price. We had an A.O. Smith heater (the same brand as the one they were replacing that had lasted over 25 years) installed that same day and the two gentlemen who came to install it were efficient, courteous, and careful. They covered our white carpet, covered nearby sprinkler heads, and completed the job in under three hours. After they finished, they took the time to answer our questions and explain how our new water heater works, which I really appreciated. I HIGHLY recommend A.J. Michaels and can say they will be the first call I make the next time we have any issues!

We recently called A.J. Michaels to replace our terra cotta sewer pipes with new pipes. The price was reasonable and they did an outstanding job. I've seen other houses getting the pipes replaced in their front yard and the plumber rips up their entire yard. That's the way it was done 30 years ago. Today, it should be much cleaner. A.J. Michaels dug a reasonable hole at the house and a hole at the end of the yard ONLY. Now I have to do a little landscaping and cement work, but once that's done you'll have no idea they dug up my yard. And the water in my house is flowing again with no backups! I highly recommend them! In fact, I've called them several times before. They also replaced my clean water line years ago. Both times profession service and I'm a satisfied customer.

I think if they had charged less money, I wouldn't have been so annoyed with the low quality of the work and cheap materials. We paid about 13k for a bathroom remodel. They gutted and redid the bathroom about 5 years ago.

Pros: Great job on the green board walls. The electric is all wonderful as is the plumbing, which are the major points. They did come out and fix the wood in the window (mentioned below) so I appreciate that a lot

Cons: I wanted a recessed medicine cabinet. They did not inform me that this would make it lopsided from the counter top. It just doesn't look right. But I can live with that. They used WOOD TRIM on the window in the shower (#oldhouseproblems) I am not a contractor, but I have many friends and family in other areas who are. You don't use wood in the shower. It started warping. I appreciate that they replaced it with plastic but why would you use wood in the first place? The tiles on the floor were not installed well. If tiles are not firmly installed into the grout/glue/stuff, they will crack easily. Tile is supposed to be super durable. We don't drop tons of heavy things in our bathroom. We walk on it. We've probably dropped a shampoo bottle or a hair brush. There is no reason that the tile should have as many hairline cracks as it does. Now we have a dent in our tub. I'm not even sure how that can happen unless you use the cheapest tub possible.

tl;dr: They cut corners or just didn't do it right for other things, and charged a lot. I definitely can't recommend them.

EDIT: I was not aware of their warranty. It is good for 10 years. After contacting me via my review, they came out and replaced the tile with sheet vinyl at my request. They replaced the splitting vanity as well as added quarter round on the perimeter of the room. They said the dented tub was not their fault.

I still can't give them 5 stars, but I am much happier with the work and I think it will be a lot more durable. The carpenter that came out this time seemed a lot more experienced and knowledgeable than the one that came out the first time. I am adjusting my review to 3 stars because I'm I'm still frustrated that we had to go thru all this, I am happy that they stood by their work and made it right.

I can't say enough good things about this company. Top notch professional service. Great value! Jack and Bob were first class mechanics. If you live in Southern AA this company beat local prices by a mile. They will be called first when I have a project.

My husband and I called them out to install a water heater that went fine also to fix a pipe that was dripping in my kitchen almost a a year later we had to call them back because water was dripping under my new cabinet, they came back out, thinking it was repaired it's now dripping again and they won't come back out without another payment called another plumbing company they showed us the stripped materials and they never secured the pipe so the water leaked from under the sink spent lots of money with this company wouldn't recommend them to my worse enemy, Customer service was horrible and nasty wouldn't listen , we ask to speak to a manager just because you answer the phone doesn't make you and expert on repairs . This was the 3rd time this has happened. Apparently not fixing properly??

This company was incredibly responsive to my request for a quote to replace my oil-fired boiler with one fueled by natural gas. I received timely, professional and quality service in doing so. Will use them again, when needed.

We have had A. J. Michaels replace both our hot water heater and our furnace/air conditioning system. Both jobs were completed on time by professional people. The jobs were exactly as quoted, and the installers were the best!! I would highly recommend this company and will definitely call them again!

This is the second time Ive rated AJ Michaels 5 stars. We did extensive research before choosing them for a hybrid heat pump and water heater install. The proposal gave us what we needed and what we wanted in a system. Price was very comparable to competition, but mostly I trusted their word based on my previous experience
The chief technician Cory, was very respectful, knowledgeable and clearly wanted us to be satisfied, He came across a problem and called in another technician( his supervisor I think) to confer. The problem was solved and they proceeded. I asked him to delay the installation of the compressor because rain had caused my garden to be muddy and I didnt want my garden to be trampled on to get the unit in place. They agreed to install the next day and it went very smoothly.
We are very happy with our new system and I once again feel they have earned a 5 star rating.
