I just watched this employee of Edward's electrical and mechanical take his time and secure all his equipment on his van and organize everything. There's a lot to be said about employees who take pride in their equipment and vehicles. I'm impressed.
Their fleet service department is a joke. Way overpriced and the management team will not contact you back when there is an issue. We had a truck the over 6 weeks and had to tow it to the dealership to have the same work completed that MEP fleet charged me for. Again can’t get anyone to contact me back. Save yourself the headache and downtime and just take it to a dealership. Their HVAC and Electrical service was always good and spot on. But they decided to tie it all together and because of one bad apple they ruined a great relationship and I lost all respect for their people who won’t even contact anyone back.
Upon first calling the company, the gentleman who answered was very nice and understanding and accommodating as he came out the same day to look at and diagnose my mother's unit. I was so relieved after talking to him that I knew I had found the right person. He stated that the compressor was bad and explained all the issues with the heat pump and electrical etc. He checked to see if the part was under warranty and it wasn't. He said he felt bad so he only charged me $75 for the service call instead of $90. He gave me an estimate of $1800 for repair cost. I called him the next day (Friday before Memorial Day Weekend) and this is when he told me that the part would not be available until next week. I said Okay and he would call Tuesday. I called the store to check on ordering the part and they stated that they had the part available. My Uncle used to do HVAC so he checked for me. My uncle is not well enough to repair our unit. I was a little puzzled but I let it go. Tuesday comes no phone call so I call him. He tells me how he is swamped with a job and has to go install a new unit and would not be able to get to be until Wednesday or Thursday. He never called back to tell me so I called him Wednesday afternoon and now he says he is swamped with freezer units and does not know when it will be and I quote " Find someone else who can come faster and do it". I explained that they will charge another service call after he already diagnosed it. I almost burst into tears and it took all I had to hold them in. He just did not want to come back to repair the unit for some reason. I will never call them for anything again! He made $75 for 30 minutes worth of nothing.
Good size company. Service Electricians have it rough...the pay does not compensate a skilled worker that has to be his own secretary...the paperwork and process they use wares on you quickly! Deem does same way...if they paid more,it may not be so bad. It is like running service calls as an independant Contractor, but getting paid $24 hr. You get a phone and van, both used as tracking devices. They have a hard time keeping guys. I dont have to imagine why.
Great place to work, professionals .been here a year now and everyone is always happy to help in every situation. One of very few companies that cares about their employees
