They are literally a rip off (pun intended)!! First time using them, providing routine servicing in November and signed up for one of their servicing memberships. The tech decided it was OK to rip off the servicing logs from the previous owners that we also used to log our filter changes, etc. They entirely removed a second attached servicing log which accounted for the previous 3-4 years (2015-2017) because it wasn’t attached as well. Then, they peeled off the contact information of the previous owner’s preferred company on the first service log sticker which included over $4000 worth of work on the AC system (which was still under warranty through this month). I guess all of this defacing of our servicing logs so we don't call anyone else but them? "Shoot yourself in the foot" why don't you?" I don’t know what was done in the last 3-4 years that may be under warranty because that log was removed by their tech! It's very insulting and disrespectful to come into one's living space (be left alone to work because I think we trust you enough to not stand over your shoulder) and then you deface the homeowner's servicing records?! How would you feel if I came to your place of business, went to your furnace room and began ripping the serving logs and dates off your commercial furnace? …or maybe go to your car and take off your mileage sticker for oil changes? Stuff like that? You get the point? I'm not interested in this company coming out to fulfill the membership agreement we already paid for. I just noticed this recently because we were getting ready to call for spring servicing. We don't trust them at this point.
Spent 425 on 35$ in parts that needed replaced, and then less than a week later my unit began leaking. Spent another 120 on a service call that nearly ended up being 275 for a thermostat replacement, which are 50$ at Lowes with simple instructions to install in 10 minutes. Overall I'm highly unsatisfied with the work done and the amount I paid.. so only use this company if you wish to spend hundreds of dollars on labor for simple jobs. Work was good I'll admit, but price I feel I was severely robbed, and was told by another HVAC technician that the work performed on my unit was very basic and nowhere near worth around $550.
As far as the technicians that came to the house and the quality of the work, very good to deal with. Our furnace died during a pretty cold period and when I enquired after a few days as to when it would be installed I was reminded that I wasn't their only customer! If you can look over a couple of their office people, I would recommend them!
Don't waste your time and money! They come out, collect your deductible if you're using home warranty, and don't fix the issue. Expect to see them again soon. Mine was finally condemned, and they didn't send my claim in while my kids, pregnant wife freeze waiting resolution. 2 days in now, and nothing....Look forward to 3-4 more days with no heat. Thanks Elizabeth at A-1. She had to leave early that day. I'm so glad you take care of your customers.
Look at his response!!!! Now he’s even lying to make it not look so bad. Saying I was drunk and threatening!!! Wow what a handful! I simply asked the company to file my paperwork to the warranty company ASAP as we were in winter storm mode and my family was freezing! His daughter you talk to their said, sorry but I’m taking off early today and don’t have the paper work. Can’t file it yet.
Of course this upset me but I absolutely did not call her names or was I anyway threatening. The home warranty company had my case on Medically Emergency while his company never even sent in my paperwork.
The fact that this owner just made up these accusations in his response hopefully proves to you that he is not worth your business.
By the way, I had a new guy come out the next day in 8 “ of snow and literally laugh at what A comfortable said. He ordered a new inducer motor and installed it that day. He even had the heat on when he came to inspect, knowing we were cold. Great guy!
A comfortable climate is terrible and hope everybody who reads this steeres clear.
My fan stopped working today, and with a 2 month old , I could not wait until Friday , which is what the company the holds my warranty wanted me to do... I called A comfortable and the woman who answered the phone found me a tech to come out right away! I was so grateful! Mike our tech was awesome and even dealt with my crazy 2.5 year old harassing him! He was in and out in 30 min and I will definitely be using them again !
I was given this company by my new home owners insurance. After coming out and checking our furnace they stated it needed to be replaced or many parts would need to be replaced. They said they would file the claim to the insurance and then the insurance would contact me. After more than 24 hours had passed and I had not heard back from A Comfortable Climate I called my insurance to check the claim and found out they had not yet filed the claim. Then I had to call A Comfortable Climate and their technician James and complain to get my claim filed with insurance. During this their receptionists had horrible customer service and acted as if it was not their problem. I had to ask her for the technicians number because she would not do her job and contact him personally. Finally after 2 day without heat in negative temperatures they contacted my insurance and came out and replaced parts. James came out and replaced the parts but during it barely explained himself and turned music on loudly while changing the parts. He did not give us a report/ service ticket after working on our furnace. After replacing the parts our furnace continually would shut off during the day and night when sleeping. I would wake up to a house that is 50 degrees. We called them to come back out. They couldn't come until the next day and were very rude and kept saying we would get charged if the unit needed cleaning. The technician that came out restarted the system. It continued to turn off throughout the weekend and over the New Year holiday. I called A Comfortable Climate this morning and the company says I need to call my warranty company again and that we had tampered with the unit. When all we ever did was restart our heating so we would not freeze ourselves or our pipes in one of the coldest winters Indiana has seen in years. Both technicians who came to service our unit stated they cleaned various parts of the furnace, but according to their receptionists they do not do that. Ironically I have notes stated that they did just that (see below). A Comfortable Climate had horrible customer service and is now trying telling us we need to contact our insurance company. Do not use them!
Had a brand new HE Furnace with an April Aire humidifier installed and have had nothing but trouble since. Very poor installation and follow-up on their work. They even lost their paperwork of the installation and had no idea I was a customer. Never Again. I may end up having to replace the whole thing again and it was brand new a couple years ago. I'm not used to writing reviews, so took me a while to get to this and I was hoping everything would be sorted out, but it's not. My old furnace was wonderful for several years, quiet, awesome. The fan was starting to fall a little and they said they could fix it but my CO2 levels were a bit high and it needed replaced.
James and his crews have done several projects for me over the last 10 years. Most recently, he adjusted and added on to the HVAC system at my own house during an addition project. They were prompt, professional, and responsive. I am grateful to have an affordable, go-to HVAC contractor that I can trust.
Have known James & his company for 20 years. A comfortable Climate is my go to vendor for heating & air. He has saved me a lot of money over the years by being good & honest in what they do. As 'Hawkeye' from the 4077 used to say 'Finest Kind'. Phil & Judy Casey
Having used A Comfortable Climate in the past, it was easy to call James again. After this extremely hot weather we have had, my heat pump was working fine, this afternoon the temperature in the house started to rise. I called A Comfortable Climate after 6 PM, talked to the answering service,James called me back within 10 minutes. Expecting to be placed on a waiting list, James said he was on his way home and would stop by in 10 minutes. He did exactly that. By 7 PM my home is cooling back down. That is service.
