I'm very disappointed of how I was treated by this employee I don't know his name but it was obvious that he only wanted to served white people ,
I was there before in line waiting to be ask,instead he asked someone. That looks like him.
I've been buying parts in this location for the last 11 years and never had any problems. the good thing is that I can buy almost all the furnaces and air condition parts online.
Also I would like to mention that I was ask later by this guy I've believe he is bilingual very professional .
I would like to expressed my honest opinion to any business not only to Johnstone supply the moment you start discriminating, costumers will be giving their business to competitors or like me buying online .

Hockey Rules

I had a bad hot surface igniter. Took the old part in to the store I was greeted helped and sent home with a exact match to my furnace in under 5 minutes. The part cost just under 60 dollars and worked perfectly.

So I called in, complete with part numbers for the items I needed, a couple of Ruud pressure switches. Common items. About a 5 min wait for a sales person. Asked for my company, then my zip code. Said I wasn't in their system. I told him we have bought parts from them for years, which we have. He then told me they would have to order those part numbers and asked if I could wait for delivery. I have seen a lot of bad reviews for Johnstone lately and have spent some lengthy times at the counter, but they are RIGHT in the same industrial park I have drivers going to today. Thought I would still give the brick and mortar business, the business. To cut to the chase, 5 minutes on the NorthAmericanHVAC web and they will be here tomorrow. Like the NFL, they had better figure out what people want and how to treat them.

I have to agree with the other google review. This place leaves a lot to be desired in terms of customer service. I was there looking for some cut to length self regulating heat tape for my mobile home. I've lived in mobile homes for over 33 years, so I know exactly what I'm looking for. The man at the counter said that cut to length was not self regulating and I told him that indeed yes it is. He was extremely rude and literally threw the catalog at me and said let me know when you find what you are looking for and proceeded to walk away. When I asked another man who that guy was, he said he was the manager. I said "nice". The other man tried to help me and when he showed me what they had in pre-cut lengths (I was looking for only 6 feet), the price was $149.00. I almost fainted. He said "but that is list price". When I asked what I would have to pay, he said about $70. I told him that by mail order I can get it for $2.50 a foot or $15.00. Needless to say, I said "goodbye". Not only is their customer service (the manager) terrible, but so are their prices. Talk about price gouging. I say run for you life from this place and head to Menard's or Lowe's. Or anywhere else. You'll do better.

The shop is a bit out of the way but not too hard to find. I walked in and was greeted in a short time by someone that knew what he was talking about, even when I didn't. He was very helpful and patient. His insight helped me to fix my furnace and I'm debating not even return the part I don't need thanks to his help, because of his help.

Needed an ignitor for my furnace so i called first, they told me to bring in the old one so they could match it up with the new one. I did that and got what I needed promptly, no hassle, no rudeness.

These guys have zero customer service. I get treated like some low level scab loser every time I go there. Unless your some union good old boy you won't get good service. Do yourself a favor and go to GW Berkheimer or Gustav Larson. Those places are 10x better than this dump.

Talked to a guy who called himself Kelly. Terrible customer service and a real jerk. Guessing he must be related to the owner because a normal employee of any company would not get away with treating customers this way. Bypass this place. There many other suppliers you could choose in the Rockford area.
