Received a quote from Gough for a new furnace and air conditioner. The owner said the quote would only be good through the end of the year, the prices were going to increase next year. We originally didn’t plan to have this job done until the spring, but being told prices would be increased we scheduled the job a month in advance to have completed this month. Gough called 30 minutes before the scheduled arrival time to say 3 technicians called in and they couldn’t complete the job. I had taken the day off work and had everything prepared for them to come that day. The receptionist was supposed to call back after speaking with the owner, but never did. After calling Gough back and expressing frustration the receptionist replied “I don’t think you want me to install your furnace”. Since there’s only a few weeks left in 2022 she said the owner would get back to us Monday to possibly set up a Saturday install. I said Saturday wouldn’t work and would like to schedule for next year if they would still honor the price, but never received a call back. Very disappointing
I am a new homeowner and Gough HVAC has been extremely helpful! Randy came out twice in one to help us with our AC. He was very friendly and took his time to explain all of the different parts to both my husband and I 😊.
Arrived at my house only an hour after I made my appointment, before my appointment window! Could not have been more pleased. Receptionist was incredibly helpful and gave me full confidence in the service that I would be receiving. Technician was very kind, courteous and quick! Price was much lower than I anticipated. Will definitely use for future services and recommend highly!
They came out and completed some work for me when my furnace was making a loud noise. Replaced the blower and did something with the wiring. Two days later, my fuse is busted and it stops working completely. Had an HVAC specialist look at it and he stated the wires on the board had not been reconnected correctly. Corrected wires and replaced fuse. A few days later noticed Gough charged my card twice. Amount was refunded to me a week later, and i was charged for same amount a month later. (Why do they still have my card number laying around) All around untrustworthy. I have used Axburg in the past with happy results and I regret listening to someone who recommended gough.
I have used Gough heating and air conditioning several times and have been impressed with their service. Dave came right out after hours to help me and saved the day when my furnace broke down on the coldest day of the year. Now I have them service my stuff every year and they run perfect. I would strongly recommend them.
The company I work for had switched to using Gough after having used two previous contractors. They were so satisfied with the work, I decided to give them a try at home. I called for a furnace check-up and they are VERY RESPONSIVE. The tech was great, and found some problems that I already had known about or suspected, and so the conversation lead to talk about replacment.
So I followed-up and had them give an estimate on my home Furnace/Air replacement project. They were very open and honest on the quote, and were willing to work to meet my wishes as well, offering up both standard and high efficiency options, covering several price points to give me options. The owner was very helpful and willing to work with me to put together pieces to make the system we felt would meet our needs and preferences. Kudos.
Installation was smooth, the crew was very friendly and knew what they were doing. Due to the temperatures being in the 40's they will come back for no charge in the beginning of summer to test/calibrate/etc the AC.
I opted for the WiFi thermostat upgrade, a Honeywell Lyric T6 Pro, and have it connected to my phone so I can (as one wants to do with any new tech thing) ask at regular intervals "Alex, what is the temperature in the house?" and it will tell me. It has been at 70 degrees EVERY TIME I ask it. Couldn't ask for a more consistent level. LoL It will be interesting to see when it gets cold (and flip flopped in the summer) how well it maintains, but the old system, even at this time of year, would fluctuate to 69, sometimes 68 to 71 or 72 degrees on regular swings, this is holding it DEAD STEADY. :)
This has been a stellar experience for the amount of money I inevested in the system, which was no small amount for me. It is the same level of satisfaction that I saw when they did work for my employer, no difference becuase it is residential. It is a good feeling to know that if (or when, after all parts do fail) problems arise with the system I know the same high level of customer service and satisfaction will be there for the future.
I see a few negative reviews, and I don't think they are representative of the company, but I don't know the details. I hope they reached out to them. In particular, the one about poor quality ductwork sealing and the statement that it wouldn't be fixed/warrantied/etc, I find hard to believe, but I hope they reached out and were able to get resolution on it.
This is a very competitive market, of the quotes I received the prices were all in the same range, so what are you left with except how the company behind the quote treats you and the quality of their work? I couldn't be more happy with both.
We were scheduled for work to be done today at 3:15 pm. When they didn't show up at 3:45 pm my husband called and they said the worker was running late and in order for him to come it would be an over time charge...not our fault he was running late. We did have an appointment that was made on Tuesday.
The service of the technician was GREAT. He did not over charge for what he did. I thought it was a problem with the thermostat, but I had turned off the furnace by accident. He flipped the switch and it right up. So he cleaned the furnace and checked it out to make sure it worked well.
Repairman Randy who came to my house was fantastic. He was thorough and showed me what he did and found, all the while wearing mask when around me. Problem was fixed and inexpensive.
This is truly an A+ business. Had new furnace and central air installed at my residence and not only were they reasonably priced, but they were professional, detail oriented, and even handled the Comed, and Nicor rebate process for me. Highly recommended!
