If I could rate this as half a star, I would.

This "professional" was contacted around 12/15/2020 to troubleshoot and repair our Payne furnace. There was an $80.00 estimate to check it out and if it could be fixed. We learned that it was the electronic control board and it would cost $500 to fix. My husband and I agreed. When this "professional" completed his work, the furnace started working, but began emitting a "clicking" sound after this "professional" left our home. My husband phoned this "professional" the same day to inquire about this new sound, to which this "professional" suggested other things that my husband should check on, to which my husband did.

Since my husband and I both work from home, we researched or "diagnosed" the continued problems with our furnace. My husband replaced various other components, with my assistance, on our furnace. The replacement of the other components helped, but now, our furnace does not emit heat and there is a blinking light at the bottom of our furnace. Since there is no heat in my home, we have been using space heaters for the various rooms we use. Not all at once. The manual to our furnace, as well as the legend on the bottom of the furnace, indicates that the blinking light suggests there is a problem with the control board.

We contacted this "professional" to let him know what we have learned and to find out if he will come and repair the problem with the control board (work he was already paid for) and there began a heated exchange between my husband and this "professional" and then myself and this "professional". As my husband and I attempted to explain to him the continued problem, this "professional" got loud and wanted to talk over us so he could be heard. He also mentioned his professionalism and that he has been doing this either since 1953 or 53 years, I'm still not sure. I ended the conversation, as it was going along a tangent that made no sense.

I would not trust this "professional" who states he has been doing this since 1953.

Furnace still does not work.
