I want to compliment AA American air and David on his professionalism, quick response and excellent communication. As a business owner myself, I often go over and above for people and I really appreciate that in another company. David diagnoses an issue for me just to purely help me and that was something a lot of businesses don’t do. Thank you David for taking the time to care for your customers !
David Stangoni of AA American Air Conditioning is an excellent diagnostician and repair professional. He was in the door less than 5 minutes when he correctly diagnosed our AC problem this morning, and within 10 minutes was engaged in repair. His pricing was reasonable, and before leaving, he was kind enough to give us some tips on how to SAVE money going forward with our aging but serviceable unit.
AA American is now my GO-TO Air Conditioning company. I highly recommend this service provider!
David was on time, courteous, and incredibly knowledgeable. He went the extra step to find a fix for our system, where other companies would've tried to sell us a costlier repair or a new unit. Fair pricing and excellent work.
Dave is the best. Has come thru for me a dozen times in last few years, for family and neighbors. When another AC company wanted to charge over 12,000 for my dads unit he found the problem was just a loose set screw in fan- charged 100 bucks. Has done similar for lots of people I know. Highly recommended.
Was in a bind and needed to help a 95 yr old family member in Florida. Being in NJ, I did this remotely based on reviews only. The reviews did not disappoint. David identified the AC problem - same day - and was quick to repair not to mention fair on pricing. An absolute pleasure to work with, honest, and reasonable. Would not hesitate to recommend.
This past week David was out to service our AC. I had written this review that evening but wanted to delay posting it in order to make sure it was accurate and not just 'impulsive.
I had called him after my usual guy (the installer) failed to get back to me for a week or so.
I will say right off the bat that David was responsive and showed up when he claimed he would. Down here in So. Florida that in itself seems to be worth 5 stars.
Straight away David diagnosed the issue to be that the compressor fan had failed. I thought the unit had a 10 year warranty and he was going to check using the numbers off the part.
I received a text saying it will cost $395 to replace. In my naivete, I texted back, "I guess it wasn't covered by the warranty." To which he responded, "If you were out of warranty, it would be $750 to $950".
So... I gave the go ahead for replacement. When David went to remove the fan motor, apparently it had somehow bonded itself to the fan blades and he had to replace the fan along with the motor.
Both parts were covered by the manufacturer's warranty and the cost was for time and labor only. After the replacement the air still did not cool and he informed me that it was out of Freon.
I didn't really understand that as we have the newer 'closed' system. He suggested we might have a leak somewhere in the system, which made me wonder if it were a smart investment to recharge the Freon only to have it leak back out.
He responded that if it did leak out... he could come back in a couple of months and do a 'dye test' to locate any leak.... and that he would not charge me for the dye. Of course, it is the dang Freon that is so expensive.... not the dye... well, and of course the labor.
Anyway.... long story short, I ended up paying out $530, $85 of which was for Freon and $50 was for his trip to Delray to get the fan blade.
The reason I am detailing this transaction is twofold. First, many of the previous reviews stated "fair pricing" and that may very much be the case. But after the transaction I had that gnawing feeling you get when you 'end up with the shorter straw'.
A quick check online and I found the OEM part retailed for $125. And had it had not been under warranty and I was charged that $950.... well, that just seems a bit other than 'fair'.
The second reason for sharing my experience is to provide my honest feedback.... both to potential customers... and to the company. I respect the fact that this company has garnered such high reviews... but unless I post honestly, I would be doing you.... and them... a disservice.
I'm not 'dissing' the workmanship.... as that will likely take a while to discern... and I am certainly not claiming a lack of responsiveness. But... I can only encourage you to be smarter than me by getting bids ahead of time.
Sadly, it takes me two to three days of hard labor to cover the cost of someone else's half day.
Reminds me of the old joke... guy calls an AC guy for repair and when he is handed the bill, the customer gasps and says... "I'm an attorney and I don't make this kind of money"! The AC guy says... "Yeah, when I was an attorney, neither did I".
So... overall... I'd say if you are well heeled and money isn't an issue, then David was there when he said he would be... and that is worth something. If like me, your pockets don't run so deep... friendlier pricing might be something to look for.
p.s. I would encourage others to post their costs from this company and others... in order to help establish an 'average' cost.
Not only is the company very responsive, honest, and attentive but so are their employees like Marko who fixed our a/c unit when other companies kept trying to push our landlord to buy a new a/c unit completely, thank you all and definitely recommending you to anyone
I live out of town, mother living in Deerfield Beach. She complained to me that her A/C was not cooling well. I contacted AA American at 7 in the evening and they responded within 15 minutes that they could be out the next morning. They arrived on time and thoroughly checked out her system. They did not find any issues with system, but were very helpful and kind to my mother by explaining certain things should could do to help system run more efficiently. Will not hesitate to contact AA American in the future for any A/C issues I have. Thanks!!!
Drop the 'big boys' and give this small business a try. You won't regret it! I called and David came by that afternoon on his way home and took a look at my a/c. There was no hype, no high pressure and no drama. He was knowledgeable but very down to earth. I will recommend them to everyone I know who wants no hassle a/c service.
We have used this company for three of our properties and they are consistently excellent. They diagnose the issue quickly, repair it perfectly and never try to over sell. They are true professionals and we wouldn’t use anyone else.
