Calvey did an excellent job on our entire project to replace our ACs and gas furnaces with a Heat Pump setup. I researched heat pumps extensively, spoke to several people during my research, and got quotes from five companies. Michael Calvey was very knowledgeable, explained the pros and cons well, and did not oversell. In fact, he pushed back against something I asked to replace as not being necessary, which I really appreciate. With a couple of other quotes/companies, I definitely felt like I was being recommended additional work I did not need.

The entire project was executed well. Servando, as the Project Manager, was especially great! Servando, Adolfo and the rest of the team did an excellent job, kept me updated throughout, cleaned up well each day, and completed the project on schedule. Servando did a very detailed walkthrough at the end, identified a couple of issues, immediately took ownership of them and resolved them well.

Another highlight of the Calvey team is the communication - from the quote, to project scheduling, to project execution, to scheduling HERS tests, to scheduling Permit inspections with the City. Even after the project has been completed and all payments made, I've called twice to resolve minor issues and Servando has come over the same day to resolve it both times. I've also had a couple of questions and someone calls me back right away. I'm thrilled to see that they stand behind their work and have a mindset of "let's fix it right away".

Calvey's crew did a fast, professional job installing our ducted heat pump system in the summer of 2021. Their bid was competitive, and they started and finished on time. The crew was super easy to work with. They kept the noise down so we could keep up our work-from-home routine during the installation.

We called Calvey after using another company as we needed our gas furnace repaired. The other company's technician was not able to find the problem; he said he could not find any "error codes" on his diagnostic tool and even wrote on the invoice "The system is working without problem". He told us to remove the filter inside the house on the cold air return to prevent a backflow problem to the furnace, so we did. We even bought a new thermostat, even though the thermostat we had was only 1 year old. Nothing changed - the furnace was still blowing cold air. We called Calvey and their tech 'Simon' arrived on time and we explained the problem to him. He went under the house and after checking a few things, he came out and told us he had found the problem. There was some residue on one of the 3 burners that was preventing gas flow to the igniter, so none of the furnace burners could ignite. He cleaned off the residue and the furnace works perfectly. It was an easy to diagnose, easy to fix problem and the other company tech should have found it. Simon was pleasant, professional and on time and really knowledgeable. This is a very professional company with great technicians. We will use Calvey for all of our future service calls. We wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend Calvey to everyone!!

Calvey installed HVAC system at our place and I am very impressed with their excellent service. The thermostat we had was not compatible with the HVAC and had to be replaced twice; and they were helpful installing it both times. If I have anything to complain about, I wish I could get their services earlier; it was more than a 2 month wait

The duct work in our crawl space needed repairing. Calvey came out to have a look and unlike most of the other contractors I contacted didn't charge for the diagnostic visit! Bernie was extremely polite and professional and gave me a quote on the spot once he had looked at the required work and broke down the cost (cost per duct hookup x number of hookups that needed fixing). Compared to other quotes I had gotten the price was extremely reasonable. This is a minor thing but super important to me: I didn't once need to ask Bernie to use foot coverings, he just put them on any time he came into the house.

It was very easy to contact the office again to set up a day for him to come back and fix things. On the day of the repair Bernie realised that he had underestimated the number of hookups that needed repairing and had to leave in order to get more parts. I was very pleasantly surprised when he didn't charge me for the extra work, especially since the price was so good in the first place.

I would highly recommend Calvey to anyone: extremely professional, good value and excellent workmanship.

Our air conditioning refrigerant was slowly leaking. Another HVAC company refilled the refrigerant a few times and was planning to do a very expensive three-part test to determine where the leak was. A friend recommended that we have Calvey check the system as he had used Calvey for many years. Julio Garcia from Calvey came to our house, looked at the system and quickly determined that the leak was almost certainly in the outside coil, so the expensive test was not needed. The manufacturer agreed to replace the coil and Julio installed the new coil. The system is now working perfectly. Julio also repaired our second air conditioning system at a third the cost of a previous quote. We have found Julio and Calvey to be responsive, professional and fairly priced.

Julio Garcia visited my home and fixed my attempt to replace my heater thermostat. He gave me a choice of replacements, professionally installed it and showed me how to operate it. In addition, he gave me very valuable guidance on how to replace my ancient electrostatic filter components with a high-quality paper filter and how do direct my heater vent so as not to confuse my room temperature sensor.
He made an extra effort to make sure I got all the information I needed.

I needed to install a new HVAC system in the house and got two quotes from prominent local Pleasanton area contractors.
The quotes being so wide apart, I found myself on some local Facebook group trying to gather more information.
Joe Calvey (the owner of Calvey Heating & Air) provided someone good feedback and we ended up speaking on the phone.
He stopped by my place a few days later and gave me a quote that was unbelievably lower than my two previous quotes.
I did have my apprehensions but based on all the reviews past happy customers had written, I took my chances with them.
