Captain Frost Marine Refrigeration

I had damaged my refrigeration system on my boat and Captain Frost came highly recommended by a couple very reliable sources. He responded to my call quickly and gave me an estimate the same day. Being an Air Conditioning contractor myself I knew right away he was being honest and I really appreciate that. His prices were more fair than I expected and he got the work done right away. His workmanship is clean, professional and I look forward to to referring him to anyone in need of these services in the future.

I needed a new refrigerator for my boat, Steve gave me an estimate same day and had it installed the next day. did a great job. Maybe a little pricey but worth it.

Last week our electricity went out on our boat. I called Steve and he arrived at the boat within an hour. He checked out the system and determined what the problem was and fixed it. We have hired Steve over the last few years to work on our boat. He is a reliable, efficient mechanic and his fees are fair. I highly recommend Steve.

Having arrived from Seattle on my sailboat my refrigeration system developed a major leak. With only a week to get the system up and running I was pleasantly surprised when Steve was available and willing to work on a boat anchored in the transient moorage. A time and meet point was arraigned and when I arrived 10 minutes early Steve was already there. He efficiently diagnosed the problem, repaired the broken copper piping and proceeded to prepare the system for a recharge. This required a lengthy vacuuming of system. Steve left to take care of other customers while this was being done and promptly returned the next morning to finish up. Another issue popped up but was quickly dealt with and I couldn’t have been more satisfied with his professionalism and expertise. I can highly recommend his service, you won’t be disappointed.

Steve has taken over as the new owner for captain frost! So far I have been extremely impressed with Steve ! He knowledgeable and has been able to tackle complicated issues with my boat in a timely manner. Also super down to earth and honest! Steve is the bottom of my boat!

Captain frost and his crew have been great. I’ve only used there services twice but both times they were on time and quick to resolve the issue. Once I needed a new refrigerator so they pulled out the old one and replaced it. The second time they came and fixed my AC. I highly recommend.

Be aware that this company tries to charge a 2 hour minimum at $130/hr. So expect a $260 charge just for a diagnosis. He didn’t tell me that when I made the appointment. Sent a couple guys over to look at my refrigerator. Didn’t seem to be very knowledgeable about my system and couldn’t figure out what the problem was. Solution was to get a whole new freezer or take a chance and have them vacuum the system which said it would take 8 hours. I finally figured out what the problem was myself after discussing with someone who is familiar with the system. Said that it only takes about 3 hours to vacuum it. Didn’t need a vacuum anyway, just a new evaporator plate. Was a blockage.

Steve, the owner of Captain Frost, personally helped me out. He obviously does quality work as shown in the other reviews and I vouch for his timeliness. Would highly recommend for any marine refrigeration needs!
