Used to have great service and prices. Now they've quadrupled their charges and trained their techs to just do the minimum and brush any questions off by blaming the AC's age and brand.
**Update** Thanks for the prompt response which I awarded you a star for. No need to call since I've heard enough about the inflation story. Still no excuse to jack up your rates though. Funny thing is you're probably not too far off from the other folks which I'll take my chances with next time around to torch my wallet.
My AC is from Rheem and is 4 years old. Nagare handled a recent issue when it stopped blowing cold. They came out and told me it just needed freon. So he told me he filled it and then left. Three hours later, my unit completely stopped working. I called him back and he said that he thought it was the TXV, which was a common problem in my specific unit. Because my unit was four years old, I was hopeful that it would be covered under warranty. The woman in the office told me that because I wasn’t the original purchaser of the unit, the warranty didn’t cover that repair. Something about it didn’t sit right with me, but it was 90+ in my house and I run my business out of my home, so I agreed to the $1200 repair. I asked them several times for a copy of the information where that warranty information was listed, but I never received it. About a week after the repair, I just couldn’t get this off my mind. I went up on my roof and got the information off of my unit myself and called Rheem who told me that the part should have been covered under warranty, that the refrigerant should have been emptied and put back into my unit at no cost to me, and that I should have accrued no cost other than for labor, which surely would have been the most expensive part of the bill, but I still feel lied to and taken advantage of. I then called another AC company to confirm the process of the work, and although I am not HVAC, it sounds to me like this could have been done more cost effectively. Being a single mom on one income in times like these and trusting companies to come out and be truthful and having an entire office play on the fact that you’re cooking in your house just feels wrong. I tried calling twice and left messages both times since then to talk to them about it privately, but since I can’t get a call back, I figured I’d let other people know so they don’t make the same mistake I did. Bottom line, warranties stay with the unit and have nothing to do with who purchased them. Parts are generally covered for five years. And people will do anything to make a short sighted couple extra dollars.
My home warranty company sent out a vendor for my A/C when it stopped working. The vendor said that I needed a new compressor and it would take 3-5 business days before they could get the part. To ensure that I was getting a good price, I called Nagare Quality Air Conditioning for a second estimate to replace the compressor. They sent a technician out the same day and Jose was able to make a simple repair to get my A/C working again. I was beyond pleased with Nagare's timely and professional service. My A/C has been running smoothly for a week now and I owe it all to the wonderful service from Nagare Quality Air Conditioning!
I’m writing this review because I was absolutely appalled by my experience. It also made me feel completely uncomfortable and helpless. I live in a 700 sq ft apartment and have not been able to get the temperature below 85 degrees the entire summer. The air constantly runs and because of it and my roommate’s and my PGE bill is over $300, but it’s still miserable. Unfortunately we have no choice, but to use the air conditioning contractor our apartment requires. So both times we have requested someone to come check the system they have sent the same person and his name is Jose. Pray he never comes to your residence. Both times he has only been there for a total of 5 minutes each time. He comes and looks at the thermostat only and has told us that it is impossible for a 700 sq ft apartment to get below 85 degrees. That’s just flatly not true because there are other people in our complex that have their air at 75 degrees constantly with a cheaper PGE bill. When he asked if we could prove it I told him we could and he rolled his eyes and insinuated that we were liars. This last visit he was even more condescending to the point that he was abrasive and rude and made me feel so uncomfortable by the way he verbally attacked us that I had to go hide in my room. He refused to even feel the vents when there is barely any air flow coming out of them and my room in particular is another 10 degrees warmer. He saw 2 women and assumed we didn’t know what we were talking about and spoke down to us. Again he refused to even feel the vents let alone go check on the actual unit or the ducts in the apartment. Never checked the refrigerant, if the blower motor worked or for any blockages. He was so rude that I am afraid to have someone else from that company come out because now I feel like they have a vendetta against us for no reason. Again he made me extremely uncomfortable and I’m legitimately afraid of him because he knows where we live and I don’t feel safe.
