We had an energy audit performed last December and based on the recommendations provided, added insulation to our attic, sealed recessed light fixtures, fixed a duct in the ceiling and added sun screens/shades to the exterior of our house. We felt an immediate impact as a result of the insulation during that cold period, however this past July and August were the first two months year over year where we could directly compare energy usage. We have seen our APS bills year over year drop by around 18% and can only attribute the change to the work we had done.
The sealing work has also reduced the dust substantially and it was difficult to see any dirt on our (furnace) filter after 5 months.
We had a 60% window film installed 2 years previously, but could still feel a lot of heat coming through our 1992 windows. The sun screens have made a tremendous difference in that heat transfer and as a result have not only made our home more comfortable on hot days, but reduced our energy usage as well. They also give us a more privacy.
It may take a few years to pay back the cost with lower utility bills, but the increased comfort and lower bills have made the initial investment worthwhile.

I appreciated receiving the AC and furnace inspection sheet showing what was checked, the various capacitor ratings, etc. This helps me prepare for potential future repairs or maintenance activities.
