My wife called them to fix our furnace while i was at work. The guy came to the house took the front cover off the furnace and hit the gas valve with his wrench and told my wife it was fixed... took 5 min. He leaves in a rush only for my furnace to stop working 5 minutes after he leaves.. So my wife calls them again. About 30min later he shows back up at the house only to hit the valve with his wrench and then claims its working again. He leaves and within 20 minutes the furnace is back to not working.. fed up with their service we decided to call a different company. They came to the house and had a new valve installed in 30min and furnace had worked great ever since. Charged $200 for parts and labor. Awesome. Later that week we get a bill from johnson for $100. Called and told them what all happened. They said the owner would be contacting to discuss. Never called and still charged us for a full hour... shady shady business practice if you ask me. Do not call these guys if you have furnace issues.

Originally, I called a local furnace company, and they were not accepting customers. They asked my furnace type and referred me to my closest dealer- Johnson Mechanical. The office person was very nice, and has been patient and polite throughout the whole process, so to her I am sorry for my shortness- she is probably the only redeeming factor in this company. Upon making the initial appointment the receptionist recommended an 8am appointment to accommodate the technician. I made sure to take off work that morning to meet with the technician. The technician did not arrive until 8:30am. I asked if he was coming from the office- as I could have understood that, and he said NOPE! I just came from home and I had to stop and get gas. This is not my problem and should not be used as an excuse. Get gas the evening before if you know you have customers in the morning. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable. When I had called to setup the appointment, I specified that the furnace was leaking. The technician went straight to the furnace and looked at me and said he would be done in "about 45 minutes" he did not offer to show me the inner workings of the machine or explain his inspection process. He said that there was a plugged tube and everything should be fine. I trusted him, and paid him for his service (not sure what the service was). A week went by and my furnace continued to leak. If there was just condensate (aka water) running through the drain tube then why would it be clogging? Made no sense to me so I called back that local furnace company and begged them to please come check the leaking issue. They said they would send someone but it would be a tech in training. The new technician said that the issue was obvious- the collector box was loose causing a long time leak to the furnace. This technician had no problem showing me the inside of the furnace, where the leak was coming form and the basic workings of the machine. So now I understand my furnace a bit better. He had it fixed and was on his way within 15 minutes, and it hasn't leaked since. He said there was NO indication that the drain tube was ever clogged nor was it clogged when he repaired the collector box. Johnson mechanical assured me that the tech they sent was a veteran tech. Tell me, if he was such a seasoned tech, how did he miss something so simple, that a tech in training was able to find it? In the end the Johnson mechanical technician informed me that he would get back to me with information about the make/model/year of the furnace and an inspection report that highlighted the health of the machine. I surely received an invoice but no inspection report. Upon calling to inquire about the inspection report, the receptionist stated that they do not offer inspection reports. I was frustrated as to how one is to maintain a service record with no actual record... (I did get a paper invoice) Honestly I was going to let the whole thing blow over until I called trying to obtain information I had been waiting on for weeks, only to find out it was never coming- it was the last straw for me. I have requested to speak to a manager or owner, but I'm sure as other reviewers have stated, I will probably never hear back again. In the grand scheme of things, I feel like I was taken advantage of and my conclusion was that the tech allowed my furnace to continue to leak as I have no furnace knowledge, and this gives him an opportunity to come back again, and again and again. Time to do better Johnson Mechanical!!!

Johnson Mechanical (Bob especially) are the worst! I had them put in a Unico High Velocity unit in April 2019. I have had nothing but problems. The main problem is with the install and the service. They (Bob and Vern) have been out to try to fix their problems but have given up and walked away with my money and left me with a system that is undersized and not performing to what was promised. They were always in a hurry to leave and then the system stopped working shortly after they left, or they were not able to fix it at all. They could not even detect something simple as a refrigerant leak (Pointon Heating figured it out right away). One of the main problems is that the system was UNDER sized from the start. It has been verified by 3 different contractors specializing in Unico Systems AND from Unico themselves. Other problems include wrong thermostats, leaks in the coolant system, programing not setup right, not insulating duct work the correct way, leaking ducts, bad wiring…..the list goes on and on. Some of these problems could be fixed (not by Johnson Mechanical because they don’t know what they are doing) but most of it is bad install and the wrong equipment. Bob and Johnson Mechanical refused to stand by their work. Unico stopped wanting them to come and work on things because Bob and Johnson Mechanical had no idea what they were doing. Like many other reviews I find once Bob got tired of working with you he would be rude and hang up on you. I spent ~$16K on a system that is undersized and not installed correctly. Unico said they would help out with new parts but I am out all the install costs. Unico has stood behind it’s product and has sent any replacement parts that where needed. I have continued to try and work with Bob but he says he does not care what Unico and the other experts say and he will not return any of my money. Never use Johnson Mechanical they are the worst contractors I have ever dealt with and I work with contractors for a living.

After calling 5 different companies who either said they weren't accepting new clients or that I would just go on a waitlist and they'd get to me sometime this week ....Johnson's came out quickly! They were professional and reasonable priced. I will be using them in the future for all of our HVAC needs.

AC unit died yesterday (Sunday) and was given a claim to company from my warranty company. Called myself to get an appointment to have someone come out and look at unit was told Friday was the earliest. I informed Courtney that it is 78* in my house and this will not work. She says "yeah well that's the earliest." I said never mind then I will see if we can get another place. Courtney rudely replied with "well good luck with that." FYI I have another company coming TODAY to look at our unit and this was all done through my warranty place. Not a great review for your services with them either.
