Waited for a service call for over a week. Tech showed up unannounced, no phone call prior! Tech stated he had a different scope of work written on the repair order. During my week of wait, I spoke to 2- service advisors to clarify scope of work and was assured both times that my service call would be taken care of. The owner told me that it's not policy for them to connect to or work on equipment that's installed by others. I informed her that her techs have been showing up and working on, connecting to, and adjusting my HVAC equipment for serval years and none of it was ever installed by her. I even read names of techs and dates off of her service sticker that's on my furnace. She stated there's no record of service.
During my conversation with the owner, she kept blaming her inadequate staff for the miscommunication.
Take you money somewhere else- poor record keeping, unable to communicate to field staff proper scope of work and some stupid policy that is used for an excuse. She sends out thousands of flyer coupons for yearly a/c and furnace tune ups and they all don't go to customers that she did the original equipment install. How did I get one??
I wasted over a week waiting for a service call, took time off to be onsite for the service call, was told there's no record of me spending my hard earned money yearly with them and my work didn't get done after I was told twice that it would.
I contacted D and M Heating Cooling; they said NOT A Problem, we'll connect your equipment, we'll take your money! and we'll do it the next day!! And I'll have them back doing my yearly services(they had records of me calling when I was soliciting services years back?!?!!) and look forward to leaving them a positive review with reflections of how this non professional company turned me back onto them.
Alex was quick to respond to our questions. He came out, looked at our old A/C unit and offered options for the next steps. His candor and upbeat attitude were refreshing.
The installation was quick and while it took some time to install, he was professional and did not leave any mess. Additionally, he installed a new thermostat we purchased.
I had such a horrible experience with this company. Especially with their tech Jim. Who by the way is very unprofessional and rude. As soon as he saw my furnace he said, I'm not touching this. He did not know how to trace conduit for incoming power disconnect switch. Another tech had to come out and take a look at it. Joe was more professional and so knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all my questions. You can tell he knew what he was doing. Not like Jim who conducted poor service. I would not recommend this company at all. I even left a voicemail for the manager. Not a surprise she never called me back. Shows you how this company conducts their business. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
I had a new furnace installed by Action in 2013 it needed service I called and was the worse service. I called the after hours line and then almost 24 hours later, I got a return call back asking "how can they help?" Really??? I asked about the their fees and I was told $89.00 service call, plus $89.00 per hour parts and labor for the repair. I then asked if any of fees are applied to the repair, I was told "no", but if I had Energy Assistance they could come out free and someone could come out right away! I did go with another HVAC who was called I gave them the troubleshooting shooting #of flashes, he came at 4:30p and he was there, diagnosed and repaired and left in less than 20 minutes and I paid one flat rate!!!!! I rate Action Heating as terrible!
This is our second time using Action Heating and Cooling. Because the heating system is radiant hot water, they sent out Mike again. Mike called me when he was on his way so I could meet him at the property.
He was able to troubleshoot the reason why the heat went out and fixed it pretty quickly. Since he had some time in the hour billing, he took a look at the other furnace for the upstairs unit and did some preventive maintenance on it..which would have most likely required another call down the line if we had let it go longer.
I feel Mike was honest about what needed to be done and he worked efficiently. He explained the issues to me when I had questions. He also pointed out a maintenance issue in the basement that was unrelated to the furnaces so I could correct it immediately.
I recommend Action Heating and Cooling and if you have an older radiant heat system, ask for Mike.
Kurt B offered very friendly service. He gave a detailed description of the possible problems with our furnace, and did not pressure us into a specific decision in how to fix the problem - aka pressure us into spending unnecessary money. We would recommend this company!
Highly highly recommend! After calling multiple places on a 90 degree day with our AC out at our business, they were the first one who could come out the same day. They came quickly and were very friendly and professional and knowledgeable. They were able to fix the problem that day. I’m so glad I found them so I don’t have to call multiple places for same day service
The furnace guy who installed my new furnace didn’t do a professional job. He ran the furnace power line/neutral wire with the ceiling lights in the same room as my furnace. In electrical term, you don’t do that was what I was told. You would have to know a little bit about electrical work to understand what I’m talking about here and the furnace guy that day explained it to me pretty well so now I know a thing or three about how some company cut corners. Instead of the previous guy running the furnace to it's own circuit breaker switch too, he had it running with my kitchen/laundry machine breaker switch. I was also told it should be on its own switch... The furnace guy who came out that day spent four hours trying to figure out what was wrong with my furnace. Getting late and frustrated, he left to get parts, changed out parts, checked wires, up and down the attic and still couldn't figure it out. So what had happened the night before was, I had replaced my ceiling light fixture and moved a wire, not knowing that, that was the furnace nuetral wire that was connected with the light fixture. Actually the furnace wire fell out of place so I left it aside cause I didn't know where it went to and due to sparks. I did tell the furnace guy a few times what went different before the furnace stopped working, but he didn't think the lights were to blame. I didn't think so either, to why would anybody wire it with the lights,... anyhow. So then after a few hours, he goes to look at the light wires that I had explained to him earlier and he tapes the loose wire “which is the furnace wire” together and guess what, the furnace started. The furnace guy was pretty frustrated I tell ya... I felt bad cause he looked mentally exhausted. I'm not too happy at all with the work and the company and the huge fee! I also later noticed that my filters don’t fit my furnace. I would have to bend the filter into place to fit the filter in. I hope that Action do come back and do the wiring the correct way at least!
I have had this company come out for the last 2 or 3 years to service my AC unit. Last year (2020) I paid Action $1142.28 total (2 visits 6 weeks apart) and I'm still having the same problem of no AC. The first time the system was out of freon, they charged it, checked the connections, blew in nitrogen, found a small leak, and put in easy seal. That lasted barely 6 weeks and they had to come out again. The second time they did the same thing, stayed a little longer, took out all the freon, blew nitrogen, said it was a leak again, cleaned out my entire unit, added freon, and it was good for the remainder of the summer (1 month). I haven't had the AC on since then and last Friday I turned it on and it blew out warm air. I feel like whatever they did during those 2 visits was absolutely useless and I paid almost the 1/3 the amount of a complete new unit. My unit is only like 8 years old. Every time they come I have to pay a trip charge and it's a temporary fix.
Had an initial bad experience with one of their techs. We talked with the owner who was apologetic and offered to have a different tech come out and take a look at our problem. The next tech came out and was able to help us while also being polite. It’s good to know there are still companies out there that care about their customers and customer satisfaction/service. The owner was very nice to work with and talk with.
