Called night before Xmas eve and Jim, the owner showed up promptly on time Xmas eve. Diagnosed the problem with furnace, went out of his way to get the proper part in Milwaukee before the supply house closed and had it installed with the furnace running within 2.5 hours.

They installed the original forced air furnace 30 years ago and a replacement more than 20 years after that.

Their personnel have always been prompt, friendly and reasonable.

C&C Evenaire poured a new concrete driveway and car port floor for us in May 2016. Overall, the job C&C did was fine. There are a few spots where the driveway meets the sidewalk and our existing garage floor that are sloppy, but the pour in general is fine and was done on time.

However, there were some unusual things about the job. I had to deal with parking enforcement and the police because of how they parked their dump trunk. There are no reflectors on the back of the truck and they were concerned someone might rear-end it coming up over the hill. Evenaire also left quite a mess on my driveway apron that resulted in the city threatening to charge me hourly for cleanup. The city also found evidence suggesting the team was pouring waste water into the sewer.

My biggest complaint was Evenaire knocked out power to my garage during the pour. They offered to fix it, but 6 weeks went by without any update. I told Evenaire I would get it fixed myself, to which they responded requesting I send them the invoice afterwards for reimbursement. I did ($250), and now they are no longer returning my calls, texts, or e-mails.

We are a residential rehab company, focused on purchasing and rehabbing distressed properties. We had both divisions of this company work on one of our Stoughton properties - the C&C Concrete division saw-cut the basement floor for new plumbing and an exterior basement wall for a new bedroom egress window. This work was completed as designed and on-time.

The Evenaire division installed a new 98% efficient furnace with A/C, replacing an old, defective furnace with no A/C. They added duct runs for all the new basement rooms and added returns on the main floor and in the basement. There were some start-up problems due to leaking condenser lines that were promptly taken care of to our satisfaction.

All in all it was a good experience. The owner would make weekend, holiday, and off-hours visits to make sure things were working properly, all at no additional charge.

This is only 1 star because Google does not offer negatives. This company used to be awesome but I think he needs to hang up his tools. I have used him for 6 furnaces at 3 different properties over 30 years, HOWEVER, after I recommended him to a friend and his attempt at service turned out to be worse than the scariest workman horror movie you could imagine. He was beyond inconsistent in showing up and the furnace install which started in the spring is not finished (it's fall!). He finally got the heat going, however, it was venting CO2 inside the house.
STAY AWAY!!!!

Beware of this company! There has been a change of ownership in the past 2-3 years, and the current owner does not have the experience, integrity, or financial stability that used to come with Evenaire. The current owner is actually a lawyer whose license got suspended in Iowa and then Stoughton, WI (search Hammis Law Office for full details). He owes thousands of dollars in unpaid claims to the state, and is not reputable. He just lost a case involving ac installation issues and more are pending. Working with this company has cost us thousands of dollars in repairs, was hugely inconvenient, and also ended up exposing us to chemicals, lead dust, and potentially asbestos.

There are plenty of reputable AC companies out there that do way better work than this guy. Don't trust him with anything---last minute repair, new installs, warranty issues, etc. He will just create additional problems down the road. He even managed to disconnect the thermostat to our boiler during his work, and when we went to start our heat, it wouldn't work. He also doesn't have the money to fix his mistakes. When we started letting him know the extent of the damages, he gave us a lot of run around--promising off and on to give us money to avoid a lawsuit, but, in the end, he just completely stopped taking our calls and will not settle the matter honestly.

Beware of Evenaire!

These guys are Con Men! Total Crooks.... Installed a furnace for us that was not up to speed.. kept shutting off. After multiple calls they kept blaming it on the thermostat. Turns out they installed a much lesser unit than he quoted us for and it was going into thermal overload and shutting off. When we called them up on it they said said it was a simple mistake and they would bring in the bigger unit. They removed the smaller unit and dropped off the bigger one. They said they would back in a day or two to install it. That was the last we heard from them. Many emails and phone calls with no response. Had to hire another company to come out and finish it. Jim's last words to me were I'm a big boy, I'll fix it... I've been doing this for years". "Big Boy" just runs off with your money and leaves you with no heat.
Search this Jim/James Hammis guy you will find many judgments against him On CCAP.

I have called Jim on two separate furnace problems in the past month. Both times it was very cold outside and they were very busy. Both times they would have done a service call but it would be later in the day. With no heat a house cools down fast. But he was very helpful over the phone. Both times we got heat. I'm very pleased that it all worked out.
Thank you Jim for the good customer service.

Have used Evenaire for years and been pleased bit recently he won't return calls. He ordered a part for us and had it sent to our house. However, he wouldn't respond to come install it. I had to call someone else to get the issue dealt with. I will not use Evenaire in the future.

In 2012 I had them come in and install a brand new AC unit. First he told me that I was getting a Lennox product with 10 years Warranty and after installation, I see that it was not a Lennox product a second brand of Lennox with 5 years Warranty. I fought with him and he changed the warranty to 10 years. This year the AC seems to have a problem and I have been calling for the last 3 days without an answer.

Please stay away from this contractor.

Our heating and a/c system has cost us hundreds of dollars in additional repairs necessitated by the VERY POORLY DONE initial installation. Run as fast as you can from this company. After filing a complaint in small claims court for our expenses we agreed to a settlement of half of our costs--the check never showed up and we have had more expenses since then. Buyer BEWARE!
