I am long term customer of Thompson Sheet Metal. They installed and maintained various hvac systems at two of my homes and my business. I recently had them come over to repair the ac system in my home. I took off from work for this. They came and did some work and proclaimed that the ac was repaired. I came home and found it to not be working. I called their on call tech and and requested that he come and complete the repair. Some of my rooms were 80 degrees as I told the tech. The tech said that he’ll be over in 40 min. I then got a call from the owner Todd yelling at me for asking the tech to come because Temps would cool off. He was literally yelling at me. And then yelled that they don’t need my business and hung up. All this because I called to have them finish the work that they started hours earlier. So now I need to find a new hvac company as my ac is still broken. I’m very surprised by this encounter with the owner as I had never had that happen in all my years of dealing with home issues. I was absolutely not rude but did insist on a repair the same day. So consumer beware, as I don’t think that most people would like to have the experience that I had!
If I could do zero stars I would. I reached out to this company to install a 4ft type II hood (steam hood not a grease hood) and Todd told me he would get me a quote within 24 hours. Well after week of me not receiving the quote I did the FIRST follow up call. His wife took down my phone number and said that Todd was on an emergency call and he will get back to me which never happened. Going on week TWO I call again and again his wife answers the phone. She states she knew who I was and she ask me for my phone number AGAIN. She then shuffles through documents and “found” the paper she wrote my phone number down on previously and said that Todd is on another call and he will give me a call. Todd NEVER CALLED. My husband and I waited for 3 days for Todd to get off the phone and he still never contacted me. On day 4 of the Second week, my husband and I stop into their location on university. Todd’s wife is at the front desk. I said hi and I gave her my name then I ask if Todd was available. Like always, she stated that Todd was on the phone. She then walks to the back where Todd was and she said that I was there with no hesitation. Talk about interrupting a phone call. Todd comes to the front but his wife stayed in the back. Todd greets me and said oh yea I’ll get the quote out to you…,today. He states that he’s been “busy”. Now I’m a potential NEW CUSTOMER but you tell me that you have been busy!? Still NO QUOTE that day. The following day he and his wife emailed us a quote for over $20K for a 4FT TYPE II steam hood. That’s the cost you’d pay for a grease hood. That was their way of saying they didn’t want to do business with us. I DEFINITELY believe my husbands and I skin color played a roll in this behavior.
What a horrible person this Todd fellow was extremely rude I asked a simple question if they had a part in stock he abruptly said we don't have the Manpower? I was not asking for labor I was not asking for him to do anything whatsoever for me just to see if he had some trim that others in the same town stated that that's where they got them from. So his peers gave me his information and he chose to be extremely rude not even answering the question and slamming the phone down after I asked him again. A simple no sir I do not have any of what you're looking for would have sufficed. But to yell in the phone that he doesn't have enough help slam the phone down extremely rude don't waste your time
Ashley was super nice and helpful over the phone and Todd came out the same-day to fix my furnace. Todd was kind and knowledgeable - he was quick to diagnose the issue and even went across town to get a new part. Thank you everyone! So happy to have heat again! 😊
Used Thompson for years for furnace checks every year. Last year we had a scheduled day for it and supposedly another neighbor did also but they canceled so thompson charged us an $80 fee because of this. I will never use a business that takes advantage of people. *thumbs down*
I been using Thompsonn for many years yes they are busy but worth the wait, Todd could not get my heater in my pole building and invited me to store my harley with his at his heated shop class act, another company installed ac unit undersized it never shut off again Todd sent his guy out and installed a new one! Christmas 2017 my furnace went out Todd told me up front would be mid january before he could get at but he was very helpful order me what i neede along with the ac coil! And that was a text at 11:30 PM top shelf show a TSM!
This company is amazing! They can handle any fabrication needs that you have big or small and their knowledge of HVAC and commercial exhaust hood systems is unmatched by anyone in the area! If you are looking for the best price this is probably not the place you should contact but if you want good quality work that is supported by friendly quality technicians they are the best available in this area!
Always great service at a great price. Not sure why two others had a problem, but they have always been prompt, as well as forthcoming with pricing. Everyone is easy to work with and reasonably priced. I would recommend Thompson Sheet Medal to everyone in need of Heating and Cooling Work, as well as sheet medal fabrication.
Fabulous Service - my unit is 30 yrs old -I had other companies come and they never even looked at the AC Unit only my heating unit and never offered repair only New Replacement.. Well these guys had the ac unit torn apart in 10 minutes - it was a loose wire and needed to be oiled and Freon added....fabulous outcome I'm elated and have already recommended them to Friends..
