Review for Bassett Home Heating, Inc.: In early February of 2022, John Bassett of Bassett Home Heating, Inc., the representative of the family-owned and operated heating and cooling company, responded when I asked for an estimate to remove an old gas furnace and install a new gas furnace and an air-conditioner in its place. John showed up on time and discussed the project in detail. In addition to the fact that Bassett featured American Standard products, I was impressed by the 3-year maintenance agreement (A/C and furnace) I could purchase wherein a company representative would stop by each winter and each summer to maintain our new furnace and air-conditioner. I requested that the furnace and A/C be installed before June and they were installed on May 23 by John’s son, David Bassett. David showed up with a 3-man crew and the installation was completed in less than a day. I was impressed by the competence and professionalism of the installation. Bassett was able to use my existing programmable thermostat (which was fairly new), and David took the time to explain how to operate it for the furnace (heat) and the air-conditioner (cool). The air-conditioner and the furnace have both operated exceptionally well throughout the summer, fall, and upcoming winter. I would rate the total experience as 4 out of 5 stars. Although the products and installation were top notch, communication with the office was inconsistent. I paid the revised balance of my bill shortly after installation (which was less because a new thermostat was not needed). I was told that there were computer problems when I called, emailed or left voicemails requesting a copy of the revised invoice as proof of payment that I could supply to Puget Sound Energy for an energy rebate. Five weeks after installation, I received a revised second invoice and updated paperwork in the mail.

We are very pleased with the A/C installation service provided by Bassett Home Heating. We chose Bassett in April primarily because they have good reviews online and were able to get the consultation and order moving quickly (other vendors couldn't even set up a consultation appt until July). In addition to getting the A/C ordered and installed in a timely manner, they were professional and responsive to our questions and concerns throughout the process. After they installed the A/C, we thought there was something wrong with the installation because the A/C was turning on when it shouldn't, but someone came over very quickly and was able to identify and explain the problem (our very old thermostat was malfunctioning). We trust the team at Bassett and are happy to continue working with them for our HVAC needs.

I recommend being very careful dealing with this company. I asked them for a quote to fix my heat pump, and they diagnosed the issue as a bad "Thermal Expansion Valve". They proceeded to give me a quote for over $4000 to fix the issue. Not only was the quote high, inside the quote they were charging $125/lb for R410 refrigerant when other companies were charging more like $65. To put this in perspective, you can buy the same refrigerant on Ebay for $17/lb. Considering they buy wholesale, I'm sure they buy it cheaper than that. So, they were saying they couldn't use any of the existing refrigerant in my system--total cost from them on refrigerant alone, $1625, when their actual cost is more like $220. How bad can one price gouge? Absolutely absurd. And, they didn't even diagnose the problem properly! But still charged me $300 just to come out and give me a quote with an incorrect diagnoses. Again, their total quote to fix my issue, $4000.

I had a second company give me a quote. They diagnosed the issue as low refrigerant level, and a small leak in the refrigerant line. They fixed the issue for $700. The AC has been running great (better than ever) for 2 weeks now!

$4000 vs $700? Give me a break Bassett Home Heating.

In summary, I feel very much taken advantage of by Bassett Home Heating, simply because I have a nice house. I feel like they decided to gouge me because they think I have a lot of money. It is companies like this that really make me question how they have a 5 star review on google. I would not recommend them to anyone.

We have been working with Bassett for over 20 years. They are always very professional, competent, and responsive. They figured out how to install a replacement furnace and ducting that gave us more head room in our basement. They replaced our water heater and recently installed a better filtration system for addressing the smoke and pollutants. I recommend them highly and will continue to work only with them for any upcoming needs.

John Bassett installed a furnace for me in 2005. Great job. Professional, friendly, quick and efficient,. A few years later he brought his son with him on a routine maintenance call. David was in
high school then. John had to show David how to set up a thermostat correctly. This summer we decided to install A/C. John did the estimate in about an hour. The next morning an estimate with options and recommendations was in my e-mail.
On installation day, Dave showed up with a crew. He was in charge of the
installation. Great job. Professional, friendly, quick and efficient. He had
to show one of the guys how to set the thermostat so that it would coordinate the furnace and the air conditioning. Joh'n's made a couple of
calls since to check up. Installation was about a month ago. No issues
whatsoever.

John Basset at Basset Home Heating is an experienced knowledgeable guy. I had an old system replaced with ducted mini-splits , so much nicer. We had an issue with one of the compressors and John quickly replaced it with his apology for the inconvenience , That’s Customer Service ! His guys were clean, professional, did excellent work and respected our house by staying clean and contained inside and out, even wearing booties inside when they would come in. I highly recommend you try them, we are very happy.

Bassett are the professional and honest people. Our air conditioning unit was having problems. They answer their phone in professional manors. Their charges was correct and their work was very good. They explain what needed to be done.
I am never calling any other company for work, who will first talk about how much they will charge by hour and then whatever's needs to be done will be charge on top of that amount.
I am very happy with Bassett and will be recommending to any one who needs professional and honest company to fix their heating and air condtioners.

We called for service of our gas fireplace and were scheduled for between 1 and 3 the next day. The Technician Young Choi called at 1:05 was on site by 1:45 and provided troubleshooting and repair of our issue without charging us for parts we didn't need. Very polite, prompt and respectful. Nice job.

We have used Bassett for several installations (2 gas furnaces and 1 gas water heater). This company is consistenly professional, thorough, neat and timely.
