Godfather Air Conditioning has serviced the house twice now, May 2023 and June 2023 and we had a great experience both times. Cesar had to work with a slow to respond Property Management company and the warranty company. He communicated with us regularly via phone and text. His staff are professional and hard working. I recommend this San Antonio Air Conditioning company.
Cesar came to my home last month for a routine service, and said that everything was fine with our AC. One month later, the AC completely stops working because there is a leak… He obviously didn’t check thoroughly enough and my warranty company has told me to reach back out to them. I’ve been calling and calling with no answer for two days. Listen to these reviews, and do not work with this company!
Do not let this company touch your AC units! They were sent by our home warranty company to diagnosis and repair our ac unit. Not only did they misdiagnose the problem, they took apart the inside unit of the machine before leaving and left it. My claim was denied based on the wrong diagnosis and there was nothing I could do. I was left with a broken disassemble machine and had already paid the fee for them to come out. I called around and multiple ac technicians said the situation did not add up. I paid for my own tech to come out, he diagnosed and fixed the problem in one trip and reassembled the inside unit The Godfather technician had left taken apart. The problem part ended up being in the outside unit, not in the inside unit The Godfather technician left disassembled.
Was connected through my home warranty company. I was told that someone from Godfather would call and set up a time to come out to my house. After waiting 4 days for a call I took it upon myself to reach out. When someone finally decided to answer the phone a time was set up. I waited all day just to be tod that it was an issue with the condenser coil and that they would have to report to my warranty company. We waited a week before any information was passed. They did nothing and here we are still with no AC. This company is horrible.
These guys are CROOKS, stay away. They are simply looking for a way to rip off anyone they can.
God Father quoted me 3650 for a new AC unit, which I was under the impression that the furnace was included. I had a home warranty at the time, that agreed to pay 1550 and i would pay 2100 out of pocket. I looked for price comparisons, and found that for my unit, the price range was about 3400-3600, with the furnace included.
Cesar from Godfather called me and stated that the furnace was NOT included, just the condenser and coil. So, I obtained three quotes from other contractors for only a slab coil and 2.5 ton condenser (yes I told them it was in the attic, and all the other good stuff involved.)
My quotes, from three licensed companies, were between 2250-2800, for the same exact job. When I told Cesar this, he agreed to drop my portion down from 2100 to 1400. I decided to pay him the 1400 since I had already taken off work and was at my house, and I've been with a non-functioning AC for a significant amount of time.
Anyone willing to drop the price so significantly when you call them out is fishy. Clearly, Cesar and his gang are a bunch of crooks trying to rip people off any time they can. When there was a problem with the unit later, Cesar stated because the warranty company paid for the unit (which i paid most of it) the labor was only covered for 60 days, and I would have to pay a service fee for them to come out and inspect the issue - which turned out to be an installation issue, they left an unnecessary filter on the line which clogged. So not only are they going to rip you off, they don't know how to do their job properly.
I notified my warranty company, and i hope that they stopped using these guys - I think they did, they sent someone else out the next time I had an issue.
Steer clear of these thieves, I highly advise you to use someone else.
Stay away from this company. Cesar pocketed $925 while our insurance supposed to cover everything. We reported him to the insurance. I don’t know why Home Warrantee Of America hires dishonest repair people like him.
We have a home warranty through AHS and this company was assigned. Godfather is incompetent to say the least and does not care about their customers, including the owner. In 2 weeks they have had to come out 4 times. First they said the drain pipe from the overflow pan was clogged and they cleared it. It wasn't even the right pipe! I called and they came back out and said they figured out it drains through the hall bath sink and the trap was clogged so they changed the trap pipe. Let me mention that the sink has never even slow drained or been clogged! Afterwards we STILL had the issue with AC cutting off. I called them on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with no response to messages. I finally reached them Monday morning when I had to call again.
My son and his family were in town from Minnesota because we had his grandmother in hospice. The AC company finally came out again and said it was something else (almost a full week after the last visit and 5 days after I started leaving messages.) The problem continued so I finally crawled back up in the attic, took pictures and video and sent them to the owner. He had them come back and disassemble the unit in the attic and determined it was the coil and pan; however, the paperwork only said coil with no complete diagnosis. When they reassembled the unit, cold air was blowing out all around it in the attic, which was not occurring before. The owner's excuse was that it was an old unit and we probably shouldn't run it. It's 93 degrees outsidel! All last week I was stuck at home with the AC problem, waiting for them, unable to visit our family member in hospice, and she passed away without my ever getting to see her.
I'm on disability after 6 failed back surgeries (my 69 year old husband can't climb because of a hip replacement) and I have had to climb up into the attic to wet vac the overflow pan once or twice daily, pour the water in a bucket, and hand it down to my husband so the AC doesn't turn off if the pan is full. After talking to the warranty company this morning, the reason for this last week's delay and claim denial is that Godfather failed to submit a complete diagnosis even after 2 requests from AHS for the information. As of today we are being assigned a new AC company to come out. WE WOULD NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN!
I had an excellent experience with Cesar, and it was great to be working with the owner. He was extremely responsive, always called back quickly, committed to drop by in no more than 24 hours each time I needed service, and was always on time. I also found him to be extremely knowledgeable and personable, for an overall 5 star experience. I highly recommend Cesar and Godfather HVAC to anyone in need of new or serviced AC units, thanks!
Requested service thru home warranty company. Yesterday Elijah arrived & told me unit was very dirty due to lack of maintenance (unit was just serviced by another company 8 weeks ago). He recommended cleaning of the condenser & inside evaporator coil etc. Gave me price of $775 with a 15% discount off for a net of $658.75 . Meanwhile, I obtained a quote from another vendor that was for $600 flat for everything (including fan / blow wheel cleaning). However, I chose to use Godfather Air since they were a preferred vendor of the home warranty company. When he arrived this AM, he took apart my entire system and showed me "how dirty" it was. Told me that he recommended the fan be cleaned but it would be an ADDITIONAL $250!!!! When I told him my quote from another vendor, Elijah became agitated & irate with me saying he was going to charge me 1/2 for putting the unit back together since I didn't want to pay the additional $250. I told him I wasn't paying 1/2 as that is not what I was quoted. He then told me (as my unit is sitting on my living room floor, completely dismantled) that he is leaving the unit right there and that I "could have the other guy put it back together". He then stormed out the front door -- that is until he realized that all of his tools were still in my house. I forgot to lock my door and this man just came back thru my front door AFTER already leaving my house! I am absolutely appalled by the lack of professionalism by Home Warranty of America's so called "preferred" vendor. I caution EVERYONE from using this company. They thrive on switch and bait tactics and leave customers in a vulnerable position by not quoting the ENTIRE job up front!! SHAME ON YOUR COMPANY.
Do not have any dealings with this unscrupulous company. An elderly couple I know have been left without air conditioning since July 24th (it is now August 1st). The afternoon temperatures have been up to 100°. I am a woman and can't remove their burglar bars or I'd have put in a window unit while their a/c gets fixed. American Home Shield sent this company out, it's all a big scam. The calls to these "companies" have gone nowhere, they have non-existent customer service. If I could give them negative stars i would. The family is going to call the news to have this company exposed for the thieves and elder abusers they are. Beware of American Home Shield and Godfather Heating and Air Conditioning!
