Ethan sent me a text informing me he was 30 min from arrival time to confirm our appt. He was very thorough, explained what they look at and how they test to see how well certain parts are functioning, which when you have an older system like I, you need to know these things to make informed decisions. We recently needed to get a new furnace and air conditioner. Our son in law recommended Cougar Heating and Air Conditioning and specifically Roman Pankratov (Sr. Comfort Tech) as our initial contact. Roman reviewed our existing units and explained the various choices. We chose one that fit our retirement budget as well as making sense for our home. {Did I say that when he first arrived he slipped PINK covers on his shoes to keep our rugs clean?..and we also noted later that he had arrived in a tastefully painted pink vehicle). An install was set up for the next week. The next day we came up with a couple of questions that Roman answered over the phone. Bright and early on THE day, Nick arrived with his Cougar crew, filled us in on what they were going to be doing and put down tarps to protect the rugs from foot traffic. All of the workers introduced themselves and were polite, professional and articulate in explanations as the project progressed. I learned later that we had specialists from three different areas: Air, Furnace, and Electrical. When all was completed, Nick stayed to explain how the thermostat worked and left us materials. He also programmed the temperatures to our request. After several days, we realized that the thermostat needed some more adjusting and called Roman, our initial point of contact. He stopped out that same day, fixed the setting and explained the thermostat more and made us feel very comfortable with our new more efficient system. We were impressed that Roman also asked to see the furnace and air conditioner for a final inspection on the install. We highly recommend Roman and Nick and the Cougar crew members. THANKS GUYS! I love Cougar heating and air conditioning. I know of three houses in Spokane Valley that all have Cougar heat pumps and they all love the units and the service. Very affordable yearly tune-up.
I’ve been using Cougar Mechanical for 3 years now since they replaced my entire system. Always great service and support.
The tech was great when he showed up and was honest but the follow up after has been ridiculous sales never showed up for their appointment and now just trying to get a copy of a diagnostic report for our insurance to cover fixing the unit has been an impossible task for them to handle. It been almost 3 weeks still no A/C or report even after calling everyday for the last 5. And after seeing there prices and talking with friends in the industry I'd call someone else unless you enjoy throwing money away. Update: to the response yes I did say I need to speak with my wife as she was on speaker phone out of town for work and wanted to go over everything in person. So we scheduled with your SALESMAN 1030 that Friday he never came and we never received a call. We did finally get the information we've been requesting yesterday 6/28 after both of us calling multiple times a day and having to threaten to come in person. The only saving grace has been the tech who just today happened to be down the road and stopped to check in with us and is attempting to make things right so I don't have to start all over with another company just so my insurance can move along with their job. And I wouldn't try calling a customer out without all the correct details.
TradeMark/Cougar did a remarkable job installing my new furnace and ac unit. all the installers had a great attitude. They explained the installation and how all the new equipment worked in great detail. They also tested the system and everything worked as it should. I would recommend TM to anyone! Glen
Jason came out to do our annual, and was awesome. We currently are in the middle of a big remodel and because of all the dust had been having some issues. He addressed it all and is helping us replace our black thermostat for a white one to match the esthetic!
Jason was amazing. Very knowledgeable, personable, and helpful. He also showed a ton of initiative through the months-long process of repairing our HVAC system (not at all a fault of Jason), showing up on his own to install parts and calling on his own to give us status updates and such. He was absolutely fantastic.
Cougar mechanical was great. I called and they had availability the next day. Roman the technician was on time, really informative and friendly. He troubleshooted and replaced my furnace ignitor quickly and at a reasonable price. Would highly recommend their services.
Cougar Mechanical was able to come out and fix a leak problem with my 1 year old heat pump on the day it occurred, related to a missing P trap. The tech was both professional and kind - as it was disconcerting to find that fully soaked rug (he was able to wet vac up the water and take the rug to my backyard - much appreciated). The 2nd tech who came a week later to install an emergency off switch (in case of any future water issues), was likewise professional and personable - got the job done, walked me through the details, etc. I am glad I made the (sizeable) investment with my heat pump with this company - their customer service after the sale has been impressive.

If this is your first choice to call, DEFINITELY get a second opinion!!! Definitely felt like all they wanted to do was tell me they couldn’t fix anything to get me to purchase BOTH a new furnace and A/C. I called when my A/C stopped working and was almost immediately told it could not be fixed and was advised to get a new unit. My system is on the older side so all of that seemed legit initially, but I did notice how quickly the technician determined it wasn’t fixable or that fixing it would potentially cost me what a new unit would be. Also he pulled the fuse out of the fuse box outside and left it like that as well as leaving the top of the unit unscrewed with the screws simply sitting there which could have ended up blown off by the wind (later telling me it was for safety reason but is it normal to leave parts undone and not put back together?). Was also told by Cougar that the R22 refrigerant is $600 per pound and I would need maybe 5 or 6 pounds to MAYBE fix it. However, the other company quoted me $120 per pound, and I only needed ONE to have it up and running in just over an hour after their arrival. The new company was able to fix my AC with no problem! The Cougar technician advised me to speak to their sales department and their guy advised me to have my FURNACE replaced along with the A/C. Nothing was even wrong with my furnace! He sat there with me going over price quotes that were almost 20K!! Had I listened to the advice of Cougar, I would have been out THOUSANDS of dollars replacing a furnace that is in great shape along with buying a new A/C. Was only set back by their service fee which was still a waste, but better than what was quoted. Also avoid companies that give you a “set rate” for their services. An honest company charges by the hour so you know what you are getting and it should be itemized. Definitely reconsider your options before moving forward and again, get a 2nd opinion from a company with not a ton of bad reviews from the
We had a issiue with the AC not cooling properly. Alban tested all the units and found the problem. What a fantastic job. Excellent service and repair.
