They came and intalled a brand new bryant furnace for us less than a year ago and it's already broken. He did a hack of a job installing it under my AHS warranty and showed up 4 hours late for the install. Left for several hours in the middle of it since he didn't have the parts he needed (again) then came back with his girlfriend and dog and they sat in my driveway until after 10pm. They are a joke of a company and do not let them in your home or you'll have more problems than when you started. Also they are terrible about getting in contact with you. Just don't use them for anything

I made a claim for a A/C Tune Up through American Home Shield. My case was assigned to Botetourt Mechanical (BM). I received a email from BM with the times/dates that they had open, we agreed on Wednesday 05/25 between 8-12, I received another email 05/25 at 9:22am stating they were on the way, no one ever showed up, we waited all day. I emailed them twice and called with no responses. This is the 2nd time they were assigned a case, and that I had issues with them. The 1st time I let it go, but to advise you are on the way, and we take a time from work to wait all day without even a call or email for an update is unacceptable.

Put in a work order to fix our heat through American Home Shield (AHS) in NOVEMBER 2021, and it’s JANUARY 2022 and literally nothing ever got repaired or replaced. This company does not take calls, only text messages (red flag). He came once to diagnose and never came back. A lot of no call no show appointments without bothering to call or text later to explain why they never came - I had to reach out to them to get a response. Parts were always ‘on order…coming anytime.’ Was patient with delayed response due to pandemic supply/manning issues, but 2 months is terrible. Filing complaints (sent them the phone and text logs) with the county and with AHS to drop their contract with them so that no one else has to suffer. Telling everyone I know not to use them to save others the frustration and loss of money. Feel free to message me for real-world screenshots in case a follow-up reply claims otherwise.

Edit: My service request was dispatched from AHS to Botetourt Mechanical. I was told that I should receive a call from you all on the next business day. I waited the full day to give you all a chance and I did not receive a call setting up an appointment. I called the following morning to follow up regarding my service request and received no answer. I then reached out to AHS and they attempted to call you all and received no answer. They also sent an email to you all on my behalf to solicit a response concerning my service request. I still received no call from you all. I’m not sure how you all do business, all I know is that I never received the opportunity to do business with you due to your lack of response. Unfortunately, my heat has been out for the past couple of days so it is imperative that I get someone over to diagnose the issue. I have requested that I receive a new contractor to resolve the issue.

My heat pump started to malfunction in the deep winter. I got contacted by them via my home warranty. They took forever like 3 weeks to do anything. Finally they scheduled a Thursday morning to come replace my condenser. So I put everything aside and waited. NO show. no call, no apologies. I was never able to reach them for clarifications that day either because none of the phones was working or picked up. They did call me back finally after my home warranty had pressured them and they and scheduled the next day again. I was again told that I should be able to contact them directly. Guess what happened. Now show, no call, no apologies again for Friday appointment. Enough is enough. Bye bye American shield home warranty. of course you should avoid this company also because when they were in direct communications with me ,they stood me up twice without any explanations or follow up, which indicates they lack the most basic level of professionalism.

My home warranty company referred Botetourt Mechanical for a HVAC issue I was having. This company was a wonderful choice. From the start Mike and Jen were both very professional, friendly and communicated well. They provided exceptional service and the job was done in a timely manner. I'm grateful to report my central air is working with no problems since the repair. Overall, I highly recommend this company for any future HVAC needs! Thank you both!!

Do not use him. Cannot believe he is licensed. Had to choose 1 star because could not review otherwise. My husband and I are realtors and we would never ever refer anyone to this unprofessional company. It is one man and his girlfriend. We caught them in several untruths and delayed and made up stories. The warranty company uses them. He did not know how to diagnose the problem, guessed and ruined our HVAC as a result. We had 2 other reputable companies come to investigate his work and said he did not do correctly and now has to fix what he did. He/his girl friend dont return calls and do not come on scheduled days. Made up stories about why. Additionally, sent strange texts with abusive language seemed very uneducated-like. Completely surprised he is allowed to do what he does. Not professional. Not knowledgeable. Concerned about making money and not taking responsibility for his actions. If you choose them you will be very regretful for doing so. He sets a poor example for our area with professional services.

We had great experience using Botetourt Mechanical. Mike & Jen were professional, did what they said they were going to do and nice! Very pleased with HVAC since they replaced. Great to work with.

Wish I could give negative review. American Home Shield sent Mr Mike Ulrey the owner of Botetourt Mechanical (also gave himself a postive review on this same site). Multiple no shows and cancelations last August before got a new unit - Was October before this happened; now less than a year later the unit is not working. Called Botetourt Mechanical and v/m was full; had to call warranty company to get appt scheduled and again canceled with promise to come out next day - no show and no call. Called another company out and has a freon leak $2700 to repair or $6000 to replace. This guy and his girlfriend are unprofessional and unreliable - don't use.

Enjoyed dealing with Mike and Jen. They were sent to me by my home warranty company, and Mike was able to quickly figure out my HVAC problem. He showed me and explained everything he was doing along the way. He also made sure to tell me that I had a possible leak, and that the problem could come up again down the road, at which time they would go in and do a more thorough look for the leak. He did a quick check while he was here and found a small leak that he fixed. Mike even helped me with getting the outside unit and pad re-leveled (guess it sunk into the ground a little on one side). All in all they seem like an honest company who I would be happy to work with should the need arise in the future.

Recieved service day after I called. True to price quote. Professional helpful and polite. Will use their services again. Had my gas fireplace serviced and he also took a look at my gas range oven for one fair price.

I wish that I could put this as a zero star but I will give it one star. My husband and I have had our insurance with American home Shield and we began having air-conditioning problems with our heat pump.we went online and place a claim in April and we were referred to Botetourt mechanical. Horrible mistake everything started out fine they came and put Freon in her old unit and said that it should start working within two weeks the house was back up to 80° so we called our warranty company and they sent botetourt mechanical out again in which he placed more Freon in her unit and he said that he was going to begin the process of getting us a new unit with the warranty company . After waiting three weeks we were finally approved to have the new unit placed so he came and installed it around June and he said that it would be compatible with the air handler upstairs in our attic we went through the whole summer with the air conditioning doing extreme fluctuations and then we found out that the air handler was not compatible with our heat pump that was around July and they did not fix our unit until Friday, October 14 now during that time we were given several excuses about the warranty company not approving things or the supply company not having it in stock we were called by the warranty company and were told that modifications were going to need to be made to our air handler and our ductwork and also electrical work so we would need to pay $350 out of pocket now we originally thought after all of the problems that we've had why would we need to pay anything out-of-pocket but but after we talked to the warranty company and they explained to us why we were needing to pay it we complied and we waited months they came in finally fixed it on Friday and when they left they were waiting for the payment we told them that we had spoke with our warranty company and they said they were going to advise us to put the payment on hold because they were going to review our case

My HVAC went out, American Home Shield had Botetourt Mechanical come out, they were friendly and on time. The person others refer to as his girlfriend is his 2nd hand and organizes everything from what I seen. She was very friendly, and kept in touch when they found I also needed other parts that were back ordered. It was near 100 degrees when my system went out , no back up. They even offered window units for me to use while waiting on the back ordered items. They came again and completed the whole install. Had no issues or problems with anything. It was a good experience. System is running great. I would recommend.

Terrible service, no show for appointment that we drove two hours for and took a day from work. No apology either. Then put the wrong system in, overcharged us for duct work he had to modify because he put in the wrong system which was included in warranty. Never installed new thermostat, but charged warranty company for it. Received nasty emails from the contractor's girlfriend. Filed a complaint with warranty service, and they corrected the problem. Just had another issue with system because he put too much Freon in when they installed system, and of course it was because he could charge more. Awful and will never let him come to our home again.

Was assigned this company through home warranty and was, to say the least, disgusted with their lack of professionalism and common courtesy. Examples range from not showing up (twice), telling us they had emergencies from daycares that took priority over our ac problem, all the way to not returning emails or phone calls. After several calls to the home warranty company, they FINALLY showed up. Imagine my joy when the ac starting acting up again 2 weeks later and the home warranty company assigns me none other than... You guessed it... Botetourt again! This time, I got voice mail and then the voice mailbox was full... shocker! I called home warranty company and explained the situation and was luckily reassigned another repair company. Good riddance!
