In an effort to get central ac and to wean ourselves from using an oil furnace as our primary mode of heat, my husband and I asked for a quote from Cundiff, a company recommended by the real estate agent who helped us buy our home several months ago. We had two on-site meetings with a Cundiff representative, but the promised quote never arrived. We went with a package recommended by the helpfully responsive sales manager of Blue Ridge Heating & Air.

During a particularly cold and snowy weekend, our heating system could not hold our desired temperature. I called Cundiff to diagnose the issue. They responded quickly and sent one of their techs on the same day, despite a very busy weekend.

Our heater had stopped working during the middle of a cold spell. We called Cundiff and they were quick to respond, schedule and come out to evaluate the problem. The service technician worked hard to get our older heater up and running. He was knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything that was being done to repair our heater.

Our heat stopped working, on the coldest night ever! Called for an appointment, they were able to come out the next morning. Service provider arrived on time, was very friendly and professional. He changed the battery in the thermostat, and the filter in the vent, then went under the house to restart the system. Then, we had heat! He also took extra precaution to test for carbon monoxide because we have a small child. Very kind, professional and would highly recommend!

They used to be great. I called them recently and got shoved off to call some guy who finally answered the phone that sounded like he was hung over. He said well I can get out there in a couple of weeks. I needed to have someone here very quicly so I called southerntrust and they had someone here the next day. And they fixed the problem shortly.

Highly disappointed, I requested service from Cundiff to repair my gas furnace. The technician shared it was irreparable, so we paid to have it replaced. approximately 4 months later my AC unit broke, they shared this should have been replaced with the initial furnace repair. I was never advised of this option. I depend on the expertise of the technician to inform the customer of any concerns and provide the best solutions. This additional repair cost approximately 2k more since they were completed as 2 separate repairs versus one system. Cundiff further improperly fitted the mismatched units together using foil tape to bridge the gaps. Now, I have called to ask for a better option for sealing the gaps and they had the audacity to say it's $76 for the tech to come out plus the cost of repair. What is the purpose of a warranty? I assure you I will never request their services again. Following this post, Joe Havens a manger at Cundiff personally reached out and apologized for the service interaction. He shared my experience didn't reflect their commitment to quality. He has made a appointment to follow up post summer to provide the service required. His customer service was exactly what I expected initially. Thank for being courteous, kind and willing to stand behind your work.

Excellent, efficient, and quality customer and air conditioner repair services. Ian was great. He was kind, informative, and efficient. I needed a new motor, Cundiff was able to order it and have Ian come out and repair it the next day.

I have used Cundiff for 17 years spanning two homes. In that time, they have done some good work and some very bad work. Once I had an upstairs bedroom that was sweltering hot. First technician to visit told me it was because of my daughter's fish tank/humidity. Second technician told me all of my upstairs vents were "leaky" and I needed to have some internal sealing treatment that cost around $1000. After those measures failed to rectify the situation, and hundreds/thousand dollars later, I climbed into my attic and noted that the flexible duct leading to my daughter's bedroom had been crushed closed by a piece of rigid dryer vent pipe that Cundiff had also installed for me over top of the flexible duct. After paying Cundiff to come and replace the crushed piece of flexible duct and placing it OVER the rigid dryer vent pipe, the situation was corrected. I spoke with management. The owner did offer to refund the cost of the internal sealing treatment, but I did not take him up on that, as I felt they did the work so should get paid. That entire episode should have been the final straw for me, but I have used them once more with bad results. I moved to a new home January 2020 and the upstairs AC couldn't keep up with set cooling levels on extremely hot days. The first technician found nothing wrong. The second simply cleaned the coil. The problem worsened. I contacted Cundiff directly and was told to expect a call from Joe Havens Jr., which has not happened. So, several hundreds of dollars later, I have now contacted a different HVAC company, recommended by the prior owner of the home, who tells me I need a new unit. That is what I suspected, but I wish Cundiff could have told me that two service visits and hundreds of dollars ago. Anyway, I no longer recommend Cundiff. They can't figure things out/are incompetent, charge you for "trying again" when it's their fault, and don't keep their promises to contact you when things go wrong. Use someone els

Had them come out and he said "If it works, you don't need us to come. That'll be $50." Now we have an issue and I scheduled an appointment - for which we had to wait 6 weeks! The day finally comes and the guy is a no-show after taking time off from work for this. They called but the message was too late to change anything. We are going to look for someone more dependable than Cundiff.

We used Cundiff a couple years ago to put in two new central AC and Heat units in our duplex. They had to run duct work and everything because it had not had central heating and air before. They did a good so we decided to have them do some duct work for an exhaust fan we were putting in. That became a nightmare. After quoting the work they never showed up when scheduled to install it (this happened a couple times). After talking to the service manager at the time he claimed he was trying to do me a "favor" and they just didn't have time to do it. Charging me to put in duct work is not a favor...Aggravated, I had the owner call me which he did. He apologized and was very nice. Since we already had someone do the duct work, he offered to service each unit for free. It was very nice of him to offer and they reached out to me to set it up. I never used it because it wasn't about the money. It's about if you say you are going to do something you need to do it, which I explained to him. Fast forward to now, and we have now bought a house that needs it's central heat and air updated. I decided to give them another chance because I believe in second chances and know companies make mistakes. I called a couple weeks ago and they told me someone would call me to set up a time to do an estimate. No one called for multiple business days so I called again last week. They apologized and said they weren't sure what happened and set me up for Monday (today). I sit and wait....and wait...and wait.. When I call the office they don't even have me scheduled. I told the lady at the front desk (who was very friendly and apologetic) if they come out today we are good but if it's tomorrow I will go with another company. A gentleman calls me to set up for 10:30am tomorrow....so another company it is. Like i said...just do what you said you are going to do. So I spent around $16,000 with them two years ago and was ready to spend thousands more...their loss.
