James was professional and courteous. He was even able to work me in on the same day I called! He thoroughly explained everything going on with my unit and made sure I understood all of my options. Would definitely call him again!
I had a negative experience with a local provider who was pressuring me to purchase a new unit or pay 4,200 in repairs to my 7 year old Bryant unit. We contacted Bryant and they recommended American heating and air. I am so glad we contacted them because it saved me a lot of money. My unit was oversaturated with refrigerant that the previous company had added that it did not need. I will contact James with American every time I need service and appreciate his honesty and professionalism. Will be a lifetime customer and can not say enough good things!
James squeezed us into his schedule and was able to come right over on the day I called & fix our problem. He was friendly, honest, and charged a very reasonable rate. I was very pleased & would definitely trust him to take care of my future HVAC needs.
AC went out on a Saturday night, during A multi day heat wave. After some research, I called American Heating & Air early on Sunday Morning. Dave returned my call immediately, and was here within just a couple of hours. Very professional, explained what the problem was, and had it fixed in no time. Honest, no trying to up-sale things I didn’t need. I felt the price was reasonable, especially on a Sunday morning. Thanks Dave !
Upstairs AC unit stopped cooling on the Weekend. James came out on a Saturday and replaced the capacitor. James was very professional and knowledgeable. He was on time and explained everything he was doing. Excellent service! I highly recommend American Heating & Air Conditioning. Will definitely use them again. Thank you!
After a 0900 call on one of the hottest and most humid days of the year so far, James was here working on our system (which had shot craps) by 1400. We had a coolant leak from a faulty valve stem. He replaced the the valve stem and recharged the system and finished it all in about an hour. It was a great experience and we will definitely do business with them again.
My AC unit stopped working and Ostrom came out and stated it was my compressor, conveniently the most expensive part, and said that it was under warranty so the expected cost "would be around a thousand dollars." After the tech went to the van and made a call returned to say "well I low balled you it's gonna be about $2500." Despite it BEING UNDER WARRANTY. My house was hovering around 85 degrees so I reluctantly agreed for the repair which took them a week to return and fix. It worked for about a week before I noticed my unit began to freeze over. Doing research suggested they did not replace the refrigerant. Knowing it would cost $80 for them to simply "appear" and likely misdiagnose or purposely I can't at this point be certain I decided to call an actual professional to rectify the situation. James with American Heating and Air Conditioning came out that same day and said he could have done the job for less than $1500 and charged my refrigerant for $150 and taught me how to maintain and better increase air flow through the house so I wouldn't have this issue again. He was incredibly knowledgable and helpful unlike the bums at Ostrom.
We have used this company for both repair and replacement for our home's heat pump during the past three years. It's nice having someone local that knows you and can show up when we need it. It is also nice to get professional advice beyond just heating and ac. Very knowledgeable and reasonable.
Called with an AC issue and was seen by a technician within 2 hours of calling. James fixed the problem, was honest and objective on how to proceed if it persisted. Will certainly use in the future and would highly recommend.

These guys are great! James took care of us when we needed a new system. Good deal and great work. On the spot when we had a emergency from recent flooding. Unit checked out and we are up and running within 24 hrs!!

We've had James service our HVAC for several years and we've always been pleased. Hes a hardworking, honest man that does what he says hes going to do. I'm happy to continue to use American and more than happy to recommend them.
Would never recommend this company to anyone! Wanted to quote me $4600 for a whole new unit when mine was only 3 years old. Never once said anything about a warranty on my original unit. Just wanted to sell Bryant. Ended up charging me $500 on “so called repair and leak detection saying it was leaking all over and needed a whole complete unit.”. Had another reputable company come out and actually found the leak in about 4 min and repaired it in 30 min and working like a champ! This company is a joke! You say you are a Vet? Vets don’t rip other Vets off!! To your response: First off get your "facts" straight, I sought your company out due to your so called rating. It wasn't cause I was not able to get another company out here because if you read, another company came out the same day called and repaired it. If I were outside your range you could have said so and saved us both time and money. Don't do me a favor by taking my money. I knew I had a leak, the reason for contacting your company. One thing I didn't mention in my original post was all the slamming of your fellow Heating and Air companies in the area. Bent Mt is a little farther out but none the less. Second, yes my father was there during your return visit as you said and saw the so-called leaks your company noticed. Funny that when the other company came out he was there as well and even told them were you found leaks..... There was 1 small leak under the fan on the unit, you would have seen that if you removed it as it was clear as day to me when they pointed it out. They didn't use "your leak detection" it could be heard from the human ear and felt. Third, I never asked you to warranty anyones work, what I did say you never even mentioned that I should contact the Lenox company to see about a warranty repair if all the leaks you detected were in-fact true. We had our AC go out overnight and called Sunday morning on mother’s day at 8am to see if we could get someone out. They had a tech named James that came out within an hour and did an amazing job. He quickly got us up and running, but also walked me through every step to show me what went wrong and why, and gave me some good suggestions to prevent future issues. Great customer service, couldn’t be happier.
I am very happy with the service and quality of work that was performed on my heat/AC unit. The gentleman that worked on my unit was very prompt and friendly. He even explained what he was doing while he was doing it and provided me with some cost saving information. I feel that this company is very fair in their pricing and has extraordinary customer service. I would use them again and recommend them to friends and family!
AMERICAN HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING, Inc. is a awesomely customer focused company. They know their stuff. As many of you know, having a repair person come to your home often is filled with invisible costs and the bill that you think will be $200 turns out to be $500. This is my second time using American Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. and they are very much my "GO TO HVAC repair company". Other companies you have to be on their plan or pay for a subscription or something totally annoying and they do their job but when the costs add up...it is horribly expensive. It is getting hot now in May in Roanoke, so I call on a Saturday at 9 am because the AC won't turn on and he says he can get here at 10:30 and he is here on time and does a great job and price was better than I thought. I am a very happy customer.
Happy to have my AC working again! James showed me that southern trust put in a wrong capacitor for my ac fan motor, which blew my fan motor. Do not use southern trust! Call These guys! They know what they are doing!
