Steve cleaned and tuned up the HVAC system, he was very professional, changed out the filters and explained the maintenance program and what he did.

Have had a contract with Evergreen for many years. Great people & great service! Respond quickly when we have had issues.
We have nothing but positive words to say about Evergreen Heating and Air and its owner, Steve. Our existing heat pump was out of warranty and not as efficient as we wanted, and we had an issue with keeping a bonus room over our garage cool enough during the summer. We had estimates from multiple local suppliers, but Steve was the only one whose proposal really met our requirements and also the only one with a cost-effective solution for our bonus room problem. The Evergreen estimate was also quite competitive. The new heat pump installation was scheduled in a timely manner and all of the work was completed in slightly less time than Steve had estimated it would take. During the entire process from estimate to job completion Steve demonstrated an excellent working knowledge of HVAC systems and was able to explain his recommendations clearly, giving us a great deal of confidence in the work. It’s now been two months since the installation and we’re in the midst of this summer’s first Virginia heat wave, and we remain delighted with Steve’s work and are enjoying the most comfortable indoor living we’ve experienced since moving to Virginia eight years ago – even in our bonus room! Evergreen Heating and Air is now our HVAC company of choice, and we recommend them to anyone with needs from new installs to maintenance and repairs.
Just had Evergreen install a new Goodman A/C unit. He and two other technicians did the install in a day. Steve was excellent. Very professional. He was on-time and very happy to explain the options. We went back and forth a few times on the proposal before finally agreeing on a total package. Steve's great!
He came out the same day that I called and quickly got my AC back on line. I really appreciated the quick response.
My wife and I recently purchased a used home and had full knowledge that the original HVAC systems, (2 of them) were beyond their life expectancy. (18 years old). I researched the current Manufactures and American Standard, Trane and Lenox were some of the most top rated HVAC systems by most independent testing organizations and customer reviews, and that’s how I met Steve Coelho owner of Evergreen Heating and Air. Evergreen HVAC is an authorized American Standard Contractor. I contacted 6 HVAC contractors and set up meetings (two never responded) and decided on Evergreen HVAC because Steve took the time to take air flow and quality of air readings and assessment of my current equipment. Steve politely said my current equipment is very inefficient and three immediate noticeable mechanical issues. (noisy blower motor, freon leak and restrictive air duct system) I knew he was telling the truth because that’s what the inspector told me when I had a home inspection prior to purchasing the home. Steve recommended and quoted three different system levels. I went with option three, two outdoor compressors, one 2 stage veritable speed hybrid unit air handler. (propane and electric) and one 2 stage veritable speed all electric air handler. He also installed new return air boxes and new air manifolds for the air duct system. Two filtration systems, air and infrared on each unit plus numerous little details. Steve and his crew Alex Mikutin and Karnil Sarkisyan Installed all the equipment, modified part of the air duct system and fine tuned both systems in 5 days, all by keeping at least one new or old heat system operational during the installation. He is also going to do our annual inspections. All these gentlemen were Professional, courteous and performed high quality workmanship. I have no doubt I made the right decision hiring Evergreen HVAC to install my new systems. My wife and I were very concerned about how we were going to do this selection process. Steve was the
Evergreen was one of two companies I got a quote from for a new indoor outdoor replacement on our heat pump system which was almost 15 years old. Steve, the owner, suggested a much better unit than the other company was going to install and it was only a slight bit more the the other unit. Then surprisingly I got several extras I didn’t expect, one, a blanket for the compressor which made it even more quiet, an updated thermostat that was even programmable and an ultraviolet light placed in the bottom of the indoor unit that kills mold and mildew before getting into the vent work!! Then, he called a few days later and said he’d like to come over and check to see how everything was running, if I had any questions or problems at all. He made a couple of minor tweaks to the system and now it’s running like a Swiss watch! It’s obvious that Steve knows what he’s doing and loves what he’s doing as well then strives for perfection in all of it!! You won’t find a better, more conscientious company anywhere.
I just installed new Ecobee smart thermostats and I've been getting notifications that the aux heat was running too long so I gave them a call. They were very responsive, quick, professional, and clearly knew what he was doing. Fortunately, there wasn't any issues that needed repair, just some configuration tweaks and stuff. But I'm 100% calling them again if I have any issues and/or for maintenance
Steve came out to our residence in RVA after we lost our heat during a recent snowstorm, and we couldn't be happier with the service. We had one other company come out and estimate repairs, which ended up being quoted at triple the price Steve took care of us for. In conversation with him I learned he's a veteran from the Navy, and it's clear he's carried his discipline and sense of duty with him from the service. He was very informative, on time, professional, and showed me personally what he was doing with the repair. Sure enough he saw the draft motor on our Armstrong Furnace unit was seized, and immediately got an affordable quote for repair. After he picked up the part, the repair took less than an hour. He was an absolute pleasure to have, and we are so thankful to have the heat back on! I refuse to call anyone else for the care and maintenance of our HVAC system now, and I frankly recommend others give him and Evergreen a call when they need help with these issues. I can't properly articulate how relieving it was to have someone down to earth help us out, and not try to exploit our finances to get us up an running again. From a now warm house, I just wanted to convey how thankful I am for the quality care.
Evergreen Heating and Air is by far the best contractor we have worked with so far. Very communicative, responsive, and open to all costs and procedures. Not only did they do the work to repair and replace our air handler, but they left our attic crawlspace better than they found it and reran duct work to maximize storage space. I highly recommend Evergreen for any HVAC work or maintenance. We will call them again for maintenance in the future.
Steve has always been prompt, friendly, and incredibly helpful in explaining anything he finds (or doesn't). I have a maintenance plan and have enjoyed having Steve regularly service the HVAC system and make sure everything is working properly.
I wanted an old home AC unit replaced with a HVAC unit so I searched online to find a family owned company and found Evergreen Heating and Air (Mechanicsville, VA). I called Steve (owner) and asked for an estimate and he came to our home the next day. He was prompt, professional and informative. After he thoroughly looked over the air handler in the attic, the condenser unit outside, air vents, returns and the panel box we chatted. Steve was patient in explaining the necessity of having several altercations made to the current system so as not to compromise the new unit as well as to provide better air movement for heating and cooling throughout the house. An estimate arrived via email 2 days after he left. The installation was started 2 days after accepting his estimate. We didn't know an Electrician so Steve referred us to an exceptional family owned business that we contracted with to do the necessary wiring upgrade. The HVAC install took a couple days and went flawlessly. We find Evergreen Heating and Air to be an outstanding and exceptional business. Steve has good communication skills, is prompt, respectful of the home and occupants, honest and patient in offering to do the necessary work to take care of his customers. Our home was left as clean as when Steve arrived. No mess left behind. I highly recommend Evergreen Heating and Air to anyone looking for a quality job. Prices are reasonable and affordable. We highly recommend Evergreen Heating and Air.
Steve with Evergreen was fantastic. I made the call to Evergreen after my A/C went out on Labor Day morning and Steve had my house cooled off just a few hours later. I highly recommend Evergreen for A/C repairs.
