Do not work with this company! I don't know which one it is, but they are either hugely incompetent or straight up scammers. I spent over $4k after they 100% guaranteed that my AC would work after they replace the coil. It's still not working and now they are saying I have to spend close to another $2k to get the motor replaced. After trying to reach them for an entire week, they finally took my call and offered to refund $119 (dispatch fee), and only if I agree to put in a deposit for the new motor. Honestly, at that point don't even offer me that, that's disrespectful. I do not recommend you wasting your time and money on their incompetent technicians and unprofessional customer service.
This company can’t fix anything and the owner doesn’t care about the customer. Of course, this same company would lie about not doing any business with me. Typical of a company who wants to hide the truth
The tech was super informative and polite. He was honest with everything, especially pricing.
I have found them kind and professional. They get everything set up from the office and I have a 2 hour window of when they are coming and a text that they are on the way. They get in and get the work done and them give me an update of what they found to plan for the next year.
One hour heating and air conditioning service was very professional. I would recommend this company to others looking for quality services and nice technicians. I have now had them come out twice on two separate issues to repair our unit and perform preventative maintenance. The technician introduced themselves upon entry and explained the services they would be performing and why. He was very informative and pleasant while in our house. He identified areas to be aware of but did not try to push additional services which was great. I plan on using them for all future requirements.
Paid $119 for a wrong diagnosis! Called them to troubleshoot my HVAC system that would turn on but was not blowing cold air. To their credit, they were able to come out the very next day. After the technician took a look at the outside unit, he initially thought the issue was the capacitor and tested a new one with no luck. Decided that the issue was the fan and the fan motor and quoted me $2.4k to get it replaced. Recommended getting a whole new unit because mine was over 20 years old (which makes sense but I was not looking for a new one, just the repair). Ended up getting another company out to troubleshoot and turns out it was the capacitor.... He hooked up the new one and the outside unit fired right up! Not sure what the issue was when this companies tech came out, but the second technician stated he probably did not read the correct value for the capacitor he hooked up which is why it did not start.
I recently needed service for a leaking HVAC, Modern Mechanical was able to have a technician at my door within 2 days. Scott was knowledgeable, courteous, and respectful. He had my unit up and running in a short time and the cost was reasonable. I am very happy with Scott and Modern Mechanical.
I’ve called One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning countless times upon moving into my home. In particular, Jaime Valenzuela was a spectacular technician. During a routine inspection he helped identify the different issues with my unit and patiently explained what each part was and the different options I had to fix it. Specifically, he identified a small gas leak and showed me the process of how he identified it and which part it was located at. I really appreciated the full overview, the explanation of all the options, and the patience with my questions. I highly recommend Jamie and will keep requesting him in the future.
The technician wasn’t very polite, raised his voice, was rude to my wife, took off his boot covers and when my wife asked him to put his covers on, he replied they are new and have no mud. The company states on their site that they are all about sanitation and cleanliness. And guess what, my thermostat still says “maintenance neededed”
One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning installed my HVAC a few years ago and I was very happy with their work then. I used them this time for HVAC maintenance. The technician was on time, polite, and did a great job! He did make some recommendations, but wasn't pushy about me making a decision while he was there. He also pointed out that my water heater had a tiny leak (they did not install the water heater), which I hadn't noticed! I will be calling them for an estimate to get that repaired. Overall, my experiences with One Hour Heating and AC has been great! I would (And have!) recommend them to friends and family!
1hr heating & air conditioning of NoVa, aka modern mechanical, replaced my air conditioner this spring and just recently did the winter maintenance service. The techs are friendly, thorough, and very knowledgeable. They generally don't try to pressure you into things you don't need.
On October 14, 2021 Bob Joyce from One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning came to do the Fall maintenance service on my HVAC system. He was on time, polite and courteous, wore protective booties on his work shoes, did the Fall maintenance service and replaced and removed the dirty air filter. I trust the workmanship from One Hour Heating and have an annual contract with them for my heating, plumbing and electrical. Modern Mechanical /Benjamin Franklin Plumber Andrew M. did an excellent job repairing my leaking faucet and replaced the interior parts in my commode tank. I was very pleased with Andrew's professionalism and explaining about the parts. He was quick to complete the tasks and cleaned up after the repair. He also wore orange shoe covers to protect my floors which was greatly appreciated. April 2019 Modern Mechanical/Benjamin Franklin Plumber Ronald W came and fixed/replaced the parts on my leaking irrigation system turn on/off valve. He was very professional and efficient and got the job done quickly. I feel confident using the services of Benjamin Plumbing.. I have repeatedly had consistently outstanding service. ; ) May 2019 Had my biannual service done on my heat and air conditioning system. My service technician was Jaime and he did a very thorough job and even made some upgrade recommendations. Very pleased with the service. October 2019 Again, Jamie came and did my fall service on my heating system. Very thorough and asked if I had any concerns. Good listener. Very pleased with my service contract with Modern Mechanical.
I appreciate that they can come the same day to repair our office' AC that was not working but their fee are extremely high. The tech came and drain our AC and we got charged $587 for it! ($199 trip fee and the rest is the draining fee). The tech doesn't seem that friendly either.
Bob from Mr. Sparky came out to replace some light switch panels. Although the cost of the panels was much more than the ones I got from Home Depot (which were not the correct switches) they now have a warranty and I know they are installed correctly. Bob was very helpful and took a look around the house to see if there were any other potential electrical issues with the house. Highly recommended.
I have used them several times throughout the years. I have used Adam their prime service manager aka son-in-law to the upper management. He came and did a sloppy job, he even claimed he did service our outside units which when we check on our survelance camera shows he was no where in site. They tried to bill me for filling gas in the HVAC unit but again no where in site. Jaime is another nice but shady personnality he is personable but will do the bear minimum. He made recommendations like need to replace a airscrubber light which was working at discounted cost of $300 for a $17 replacement. They have done a great job 3 years prior but now the managment and employee quality has definetly gone sour. I have even caught their service guys trying to service other systems like water heater to get a contract. I would never recommend them because the first word out of their mouth is Cost of services where needed or not. THis company should have a rep for being con-artist. They need to be continually monitored because they will make claims of services note performed. HOPE this is a helpful review for on going customers.
We had an issue that was actually plumbing but Scott who works with HVAC came to help us. Upon realizing it was a plumbing issue he tried to get someone to come to the house but they wouldn't be able to send someone over for 3 days so he did his best to address the problem and fixed it! Once he left I was checking out the problematic area and I found a new leak! I ran outside and flagged him down on the street and he graciously came back inside and addressed the new issue. Scott went above and beyond and we greatly appreciated his time and kindness.
One of the worst customer service experiences in my life. HVAC broke over 1 month ago and it under warranty. They came out twice and needed more parts. They would not provide updates or even take my calls. The manager Abel would not take my calls or answer an email or text. Stay away from these folks. I would not do business with them if they were the last option in the universe.
My AC decided to stop working this previous Friday afternoon, and the house got to an unbearable temp. I tried a few HVAC companies and the soonest appointment I could find was not until a week later, then I found One Hour Heating & AC, submitted an appt request Saturday around 2am and they called me later that day and scheduled an appt for Sunday morning. The tech (Scott R.) arrived exactly at the start of the scheduled window. Scott was simply amazing. He not only did a thorough inspection of my HVAC system, he also walked me through part by part explaining how it works, how the issues effect my house, and provided recommended steps forward and why they would be beneficial (without being pushy or trying to upcharge me). Not only did I receive great service, but I also learned a lot about HVAC and my house, which is super helpful as a first time home owner. 5 stars for the company, but 10 stars for Scott R.
I was actually surprised to see not all 4-5 stars. Our experience from maintenance and fixes, to (recently) two brand new Carrier HVACs, was so great. I've told all of my neighbors (who saw the yellow truck outside!) about our experience because it was superior. I loved the alert as to who was coming to my home with their name and picture via text, the confirmation texts/emails, technicians who spent most of the day at our house installing the two new HVACs and then their follow up. Their warranty and customer service gave me incredible peace of mind.
I had my HVAC & Water heater installed with this company 3 years ago, of course I spent a good amount of money on it. I chose them because it came with a 10 year manufacture warranty and 1 year labor. Upon installation, one of the technicians told me it was normal for the a/c system to run for a while. I didn't give it much thought but the following year when the system ran for a few hours to get the house cooled a few degrees I referred back to what the tech said and thought it was normal. The company never called at the end of year one to follow up or even offer a follow up visit. The same issue persisted last year. This year however, we turned on the ac during those 2 days of 80 degree weather we had a few weeks ago, and the ac did not cool off the house AT ALL. I called them out to check it, and was told the coil needed replacing because of a leak. The technician was nice and explained it all to me but I just couldn't shake the feeling that this was a shake down. I got another opinion and was told that the company should have followed up after the install or before the labor warranty ran out. I had 2 other contractors check the warranty that was supposed to be for 10 years and turns out the warranty was only for 1 year. The service manager was willing to honor it but wanted to charge me the equivalent of the cost of the part plus labor to fix it and claimed that it was a flat fee! The other 2 contractors quoted me for less than this company did "with the warranty" but it irritated me that they tried to tie me to them. Not only that, I decided to use one of other contractors that gave me a second opinion. The found NO LEAK at all, and that all the unit needed was refrigerant. My AC works fine now and they will even come back next week to follow up (which is how service should be done!) I work in Real Estate and I would never personally refer this company to any of my clients or even to colleagues in commercial real estate.
