We have for 16 years replied on Dave Nichols at Dove Heating and Air Conditions. They installed central air is our 60 year-old house. They know our heating system which is a boiler, hot water, radiators, so their knowledge and experience is broad knowing new and old system. When I first moved into this house, I called another HVAC Company back 3 times to fix the heat and that company was never able to fix it; so based on my neighbor's referral, I called Dave Nichols who fixed it on the first trip. I was sold. My neighbor still calls him too. They are a small, local firm which is hard to beat. They will give you a reasonable estimation on when they can get to you.
Our landlady uses this company. She must have used them for years and trusts them, but I have no confidence in these guys. They came to do "annual maintenence" twice last year. Immediately after the second visit, the furnace sounded and continues to sound like an anti-loitering device. When we called them back out to fix the sound, they first pretended not to hear the obnoxious noise, then dismissed the sound as evidence that the furnace is getting old, and said there's nothing they can do about it. We complained to our landlady again after their quick departure that we can't stand the sound. Their response to her phone call was, "We'll come by next time we're in the neighborhood." I don't believe you will ever come back to fix the problem you created. Thanks for nothing.
Came same day after another client canceled. On time. Very polite. Educated me on the problem. Didn't just say "you need a whole new heater. " saved me tons of $. These are the local pros you've always been looking for

They were very nice, and knowledgeable. Clearly an honest, local business focused on customer service vs pushing pricey repairs and sales.
Dave from Dove charged $2,200 for furnace repair and it still has problems. Demeanor of Dave was such that, although I used many times in past, I will never use Dove again!
My neighbor who exhaustively researchers contractors recommended Dove. He looks for smaller shops with experienced technicians and reasonable prices. And Dove definitely fits the bill. I also later found out that multiple people on my street use Dove, and now I know why. I called Dove for a second opinion after a much larger company told me I need to pay $1300 to fix my A/C. Dove came out and found out the problem was actually something minor in my electrical breaker. They basically saved me from wasting over a thousand dollars on something that wasn’t broken. Highly recommend using them.
We hired Dove to replace our HVAC system; they did good quality work within the time and budget they promised. The whole crew were respectful and professional during the installation, which went seamlessly. They found a bee nest in the ground under our external AC condenser unit, and went above and beyond by working around it to not harm the bees. Would definitely call on them again.
I called to schedule an appointment for my rental property to have my annual inspection and cleaning done. I gave her the property address and my phone number, but when I said it was a rental she responded with, “well I wish you would have told me that first before I input all of this information.” I’m not sure why that mattered since the appointment was for that address to being with. I then tried to leave my card on file and give them my tenants number to call the day of the appointment before arriving, but she was rude and acted like I was inconveniencing her. She also seemed confused and annoyed at the idea that they would call my tenant before the technician showed up (to give her a heads up since she would be there) and then just charge my card. I do not recommend this business based on this customer service and I will not be reaching out in the future.
Wish I’d known about Dove Heating & Air when I moved into the area in 1996. Instead, I spent a small fortune paying John C. Flood to do really sketchy work on my A/C, Heating, & Garbage disposal! They found a way to charge me extra every time, while Dove always shows up early or on time, does a thorough job and does it RIGHT the first time!

Dove Heating & AC put in a new water heater in my condo. I had scheduled the replacement due to age, but the water heater decided to stop working before this scheduled replacement. Dave and his team were able to fit me into their busy schedule and did an absolutely excellent job on the replacement water heater. It was not an easy task to do this installation. I appreciate them being careful with my hardwood floors and stairs as they had to lift and move the water heaters from the 2nd floor. I highly recommend using Dove Heating & AC. Thanks again!
After getting three quotes, Dove came in as the winner. I'm so glad my friend recommended them to me. They're a small shop and their entire team is nothing but kind, professional and HONEST. They're not like some of these other big guys who quote you 3x the price to make their commission. Definitely my go-to company for our HVAC now.
I found Dove when I was buying my townhouse 15 years ago. My home inspector said the A/C unit had a leak in it. The home owner brought in their own A/C person who said it was not leaking. Dove was called as a tie-breaker. Mr. Nichols did find the leak the home inspector found, however, he said the unit was still operational. I had that same "leaky" unit for the next 12 years and it still worked like a charm. When it came time to replace it, I called Dove. They are honest and trustworthy. You can't find that much anymore. They got me a great unit at a fair price & even helped me with the warranty paperwork. Good to have someone you can trust to really looks out for the customer! Highly recommend Dove Heating and A/C.
These guys are awesome. Our heater was broken for a month, was told we had to buy a whole new unit. These guys fixed it in less than an hour. Nice guys, great service. Totally recommend!

Can't speak to their work because they never showed up. Air conditioner was leaking and this was the sticker on the HVAC at our new house. Took 3 phone calls over 3 days to get someone on the phone - should have seen the signs then. Was promised an appointment the next day with a one hour window. No one ever showed up, answered the phone, or responded to my voice mails requesting an update.
