I was recommended Steve at American HVAC by 2 of my friends who he has helped out in the past. So when my AC kicked the bucket at a rental in Spanish Fork a few weeks ago, Steve was one of the many people I called for quotes. He provided a lot of value for the money, was very knowledgable about the different options, and communicated better than any of the other companies who gave quotes. The whole process was smooth from quote to install, and Steve is someone I would trust and recommend to family and friends. Give American HVAC a call.

Steve was great to work with. We had a bid for our furnace and A/C, on-site inspection, and everything completely installed in less than a week. He arrived right on time to all appointments and was very thorough and detailed in the way he explained the installation process. Everything went very smoothly and at the end he took his time to make sure everything was working perfectly and explained all the features of our new units. Price was highly competitive as well! I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for installation of new HVAC units.

Steve and his team did a great job on my new HVAC system. Great quality on the installation. Went the extra mile to make sure everything worked well and looked good. They have also done great on repairing and maintaining my old HVAC.

American HVAC was the best contractor I have used at my home. I used them to install a new HVAC system. Steve is very responsive and explains the entire process clearly before work begins. They are upfront on pricing and his quote was the lowest I received. Install was done fast and they made sure I had my heat back on ASAP. Highly recommend American HVAC.

Steve helped me out with replacing a furnace in Millcreek. He took all of the anxiety out of the situation and was amazing. Steve was $1,000 less than Manwill Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning. Thank you so much Steve and Team!

Steve & his helper were early to their appointment. Quickly fixed our dryer. The tubing had come off the back & a bird got into our laundry room. They attached the tubing & checked on the vent outside. It needed to be replaced. Steve went & got a new vent cover so it is impossible for a bird to get into the vent. Steve was so helpful. I would recommend American HVAC to anyone who is looking for HVAC help.

I went to American HVAC after looking at other companies for a full AC and furnace replacement. Looked at Just Right, AnyHour, Kelly's, BlueBest and a few others including a family friend. None of them could beat the value that Steve at American HVAC brought. His bargain bin pricing during the slow months is the best deal in Utah from what I've seen and I did very extensive research and got 5+ bids. Not to mention how responsive Steve is, which our family friend wasn't and Steve's price was the same as our family friend but with a better furnace. So it really was a no-brainer for us. He didn't pressure me to buy a 96% variable speed furnace that you need a $500 thermostat for. In fact he told me the 2 stage is more reliable and that's what he has in his home. He could've easily upsold me which multiple outfits tried to do and would explain how variable speed is the latest and greatest, but then I'd talk to Steve and he said that variable speed is such an imperfect technology and they repair them more than the standard 2 stage furnaces. I definitely appreciated his honesty because I felt like everyone else was just trying to shmooze us. The installation went smoothly and they did a site assessment first to confirm the over-the-phone bid, then did the work a couple weeks later when we had time. Everything works great and our house feels much better with this new 96% 2 stage furnace. I will use Steve for anything we need when it comes to HVAC straight up. He's the best I've dealt with and my wife would agree that doing around 3-4 months of research and having all these bids that Steve was the obvious choice.

Replacing your furnace and AC is never fun, but Steve at American HVAC made it bearable. I had multiple people out to the house to look at the system and provide me with quotes. Steve was the most transparent on open about everything. I just trusted him more than the others. And to top it off, his estimate was the lowest! I definitely recommend American HVAC.

Above and Beyond! I had Brett in my home 40 min after calling for help! He made sure I understood what he was doing and clear about the repairs. Pricing was made known upfront with no chances of hidden fee's. Amazing service and will be calling back for my next tuneup!

Overall, Steve is just a great guy! Presents himself very well... Professional, Prompt & delivers on his Promises. Steve and his crew installed 4 ducts to my HVAC system in my basement build in under 2 hours. He even took time to chat with me about unrelated topics concerning my basement build and gave me some useful advice, "world experience advice" regarding the pros and cons on the process of obtaining permits from the city. I put Steve in my phone contacts and will use him for all my HVAC maintenance and up keep. Call this guy! He is good!!!

Steve came out to give quote on new duct work at our home. He was on time and very professional. He spent a lot of time providing education about what he recommended and why. You can tell he has a lot of experience in the field and is very knowledgeable.

I had American HVAC install a new furnace and a/c. They were thousands of dollars less than many of the other places, were quick, professional and did good work. They took the time to cover all the carpets. I would use them again.

Steve was very quick to respond and was able to swing by on a busy day to take a look at my AC unit which was not working. He was very smart and was able to diagnose the issue and helped me save a lot of time and money!

I don't know why I got the short end of the stick since they have such good reviews, but they were absolutely terrible to me. They told me they knew how to install heat pumps. They charged me $8,000 to install a top-of-the-line Rudd system. After a week it wasn't running correctly, and I called and asked them to come figure it out. They came back, tweaked a few things, and then left. Still wasn't working. I called again and at that point they said it was no longer their problem and refused to come back and make it work. I was shocked. I hadn't Karened out on them or anything, they just weren't willing to come back. I had to call another company who said American did the electrical wiring to the furnace completely wrong, and I had to pay them to fix it because American refused to guarantee their work. A year and a half later weird noises started, after two more companies came and looked a third company diagnosed that issue, by that time I was getting a low refrigerant warning as well. They determined that there was a leak in the refrigerant line, and that American hadn't taken the right steps to ensure no air got in the line (or something like that) while they were welding something. The broken part was backordered and several months of no Air conditioning (and no heat for months before that, using space heaters and the gas fireplace to keep my house warm in February) later, it finally arrived and the new company went to install it. They then realized that because that part had not been installed properly, it had broken another expensive part. At that point I had already spent another $6,000 on repairs of the first system. They recommended at that point to throw the whole system out and install a brand new heat pump. Oh, also, American never registered my heat pump with Rudd like they were supposed to, which was why I couldn't get anything done under the warranty - because it wasn't registered the warranty started at the date of manufacture, not installation, and

I have worked in the repair trades for the last 25 years. In those years I have seen and worked around many HVAC contractors. None come close to the honesty and professionalism of Steve Short at American HVAC. I refuse to use or refer anyone else for HVAC work. His rates are fair and repairs are completed competently. His installations on new or existing upgrades are outstanding. It is rare to find a true expert at their craft. As a tradesman I truly appreciate the quality and pride that this company displays on a constant basis. There is no better HVAC company in the Salt Lake/Utah County area.

Steve and his team were awesome to work with! He was able to give me an accurate quote after talking through the project over the phone and he drove an hour and a half out to do the install. His communication throughout the process was fantastic. His pricing was great and his team was professional, considerate, and took care of everything in a day. We'll definitely call him again!

After buying an old house, I discovered I would have to replace the furnace and air conditioner. A contractor friend of mine said he would “hook me up” with a friend who would give me a good deal. His quote came in at $11,500… didn’t seem like such a good deal. But it was cheaper than the $14,200 quote I received from another friend’s HVAC guy. I began to think I need to find some better friends. I started calling HVAC companies. Many didn’t even return my call – apparently too busy servicing their other overcharged customers. Then I came upon American HVAC. Steve returned my call within two hours. He was at my property within two days and promptly emailed me a quote… A SAVINGS OF MORE THAN $2,800!! His installation was was fast and exactly what was promised. In fact he went above and beyond with a few extra features without charging me more. Integrity, quality work, and a great price. Pretty hard to find today… unless you talk to Steve Short at American HVAC.

American HVAC (Steve Short) was wonderful to work with in designing and installing the HVAC system for an addition to my home. As an owner/builder, I wanted to do as much of the construction as I could myself and, therefore, looked for an HVAC expert willing to provide guidance in designing the system and, as necessary, to assist in the installation. After attempting to work with two other contractors, I finally found Steve - the perfect solution. He was extremely flexible and patient in working with me to design the system, and showed great creativity and professional competence in finding solutions to design-related issues. Unlike the other contractors I tried to work with previously, Steve consistently responded promptly and as completely as possible to my questions and requests. He was always a pleasure to deal with, and conducted himself in a very professional manner at all times. When I needed help installing various HVAC components, Steve offered the guidance and assistance needed, and always respected my preferences, either mentoring me so that I could carry out the task myself, working along with me to do the job, or handling the installation himself, as I wished. Communications from Steve were always clear and concise, and I greatly appreciate the precision and honesty he demonstrated in his billing practices. On several occasions, he charged me significantly less than he could have for time spent consulting or working with me. Steve was very dependable - if he said he was going to do something, I could count on him doing it. On the few occasions when appointments or time frames for delivery of materials needed to be changed, Steve communicated with me promptly, explaining the situation and proposing an alternate time frame. In sum, Steve provided excellent service, and I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for a competent, honest, reliable HVAC expert. Mark Urban
