Very professional and excellent service.
Michael is the most sincere and professional contractor I have ever worked with. I knew that we were likely in need of replacing our aging/leaking HVAC system and that it would be a large expense, and as a result I had some hesitation and many questions. Michael was very understanding and patient, and he took the time to fully address/answer all of my concerns. Not only did Michael's demeanor alone win me over, but I got several quotes from some of the larger companies in town and he beat them all. We are now happily enjoying our new AC and Heat Pump, and experiencing lower utility bills year round. Due to Michael's attentiveness and care for his clients, something that I expected to be very stressful (having to pay for a costly but necessary home improvement), actually resulted in a very pleasurable experience. I'd recommend Z-Mech to anyone.

Called Z-Mech in the morning, Michael came out to check on my system the same day. He diagnose my problem in a quick and efficient manner. He was friendly, honest and costs a lot less than large service companies. I had my system up and running in less than an hour.
If only every service experience was like this. Michael from Z-Mech arrived exactly when he said he would, he had all but one part with him on his truck and quickly got the remaining one, he was very detailed about what the problem was and how he was going to repair it, upfront about all costs, and worked late into the day to make sure we didn't go to sleep without A/C. I'd give him 6 stars if I could. Can't recommend highly enough.
Michael provided exactly the type of HVAC service that I was looking for. I had an undersized system in the upstairs of my house with some idea of what needed to be done to fix it. Michael listened to my problems, talked me through the technical issues and what options I had to correct them. We ended up replacing and the entire system including all the duct work with a unit that was properly sized and controlled to evenly heat/cool the space for years to come. He and his install crew were able to get the work done quickly to get us back up and running within a day. There was a delay in getting a parts to finish the job, but Michael kept me up to date and worked around our schedule to have the city inspections done and complete the work quickly. I would gladly recommend him to anyone and will be calling him again when it's time to replace my downstairs unit...

Michael has done both new unit installation and existing unit service for me in multiple properties. He is always responsive, timely, and transparent. Z-Mech is my first recommendation to anyone in the Upstate looking for a quality heating and air expert!
Called and was at my home with in 30 minutes. The unit was fixed in under 20 minutes. I asked a lot of question and the tech was very knowledgeable. I will definitely be using these guys in the future again for any service and would highly recommend them.
My thermostat stopped working so I couldn't turn the air on and an HVAC guy from Home Advisor said the A/C unit got struck by lightning and knocked out the furnace and I would have to have everything replaced at a cost of $4,500. So I texted 28 other companies to see if I could get a second opinion (I had no idea who to pick because I've had pretty bad luck with HVAC companies in the past). Michael was the only one who called me back (although I did get 3 texts from companies with service fees of $50, $79, and $95--Michael's was lower than all of those). He came out the same day at 8pm after he was finished with his other jobs. And he diagnosed the problem in less than 15 minutes (2 corroded wires in furnace) and he got the air up and running! The cost was great because Michael saved me $4,405. In other words, if you want a professional who is responsive, dedicated, skilled, and honest, Z-MECH is the company to go with!

He was very knowledgeable and patient through the decision process, presenting several options and letting me choose the best one for our situation. The quality of work; the pleasantness of his crew and followup care as well as the 10 year warranty on parts AND labor, made my decision to use Z-Mech easy. They come highly recommended.
When you don't know much about HVAC repairs, it can be nerve-wracking to find a technician who you trust won't take advantage of you... Michael is your guy! He makes sure to explain the problem and his solution in easy-to-understand terms and he was so responsive and easy to work with.

Michael recently installed a new Trane XL15C after several years of keeping my old inefficient unit going. I could not be more pleased with the quality of work he and his crew do. He is thorough, clean, caring about his clients, and I can trust his work. The best endorsement came from the county inspector, when I told him who did the install, said "Oh Michael Schlapkohl - I've inspected his work before, and he goes above and beyond the standard every time." Inspector took a look, clicked off his boxes and wished me a good day.
Z-Mech provided the absolute best customer service and knowledgeable fix of our heating unit. Michael came after another company failed to fix the unit multiple times. Michael came at the end of his day, the day I requested service. He fixed what he could on the spot and came the very next day to replace a needed part. I have never met a technician more willing to take care of his customers.
