Terrible company to work for. Lots of cliques, most people don't actually work and there is office drama 24/7.
Worst experience and did not even get to work with them. Just keeping an appt was such a bad experience. The tech called me to confirm the appt and did not show. Wait, it gets better. Ken, the tech, said that knocked on my door and left me a voicemail. I sat for 20 minutes in the yard with my cell in my hand. I will never contact Petro for anything. They lost a big sale!!! Frustrated that left work early to meet this clown.
Beware of this company. Will tell you one thing to get you to sign on, then do the complete opposite.
Have been a Petro customer for 20 years now. They have continued to provide the best in products and services. You can always depend on Norm and his entire team of seasoned technicians who are “second to none”. They always fix it and fix it right!

They aren't cheap, but they always have oil and their maintenance team is always skilled and respectful. They found and replaced a bad circulator during our annual boiler tune up on the spot.
The only company that would help my 92 year old father with a heating system breakdown during a fridged January cold snap and late at night to boot. Other companies told me days to weeks for a visit for no heat, they were there within a few hours. Based on the response and same day help and next day follow-up to complete the repair, they will be our company go forward, end of story. Pleasant experience from the initial call to the service repair technician.
This place way over charges you and their contract is useless and gets you nothing. Definitely go with someone else. Also, they wait until you call them to get a fill up.
The system that Petro installed three years ago has been reliable up to a few months ago and now shuts down at least once per week. Two separate Petro technicians have been dispatched and both have spent more time talking - and in both visits never tried to diagnose and repair my system. The last technician committed to get back to me and I have never heard any followup - my only option is to request yet another service call. Is this what it is like to be a Petro service agreement customer?
What I find is A+ is their quick response . Recently I was running short on oil. They were there the next day early in the morning.
Emergency oil delivery. I just moved into the house and never heated with oil so they tank was getting low and they made it a point to make sure that there was and emergency fill up a week before I thought it needed it. This was especially crucial seeing seeing as I was away when they delivered it during one of the colder snaps in December. Very professional setting up the appointment and clean on their delivery. 2 thumbs up. 😊
They did an excellent job installing a new oil furnace. Great service.

If I could give half a star I would. We've had nothing but issues since signing the contract in September 2020. They happily take your money but don't deliver the oil until you call and complain. The technician who's supposed to clean the furnace didn't show up until after midnight and didn't even clean it, the supervisor had to come out to ensure it was done before Rise would come back to install insulation. I can't wait to switch to gas and never deal with Petro again.
I wish I could give them a zero stars, because this company has consistently and constantly bullied me every time my contract was up for renewal. They're basically telling me that going with another company would be a mistake, and I would never get the same service. I am so sick and tired of paying more than a dollar over what everyone else is paying for oil and it's ridiculous. In my opinion, their service is no different than anyone else, except for the fact that they now wait longer to deliver my oil, which makes the bill even higher. I'm being put in the popr house because this company doesn't have my best interests in mind. I wish I can go back 5 years and go with a different company back then. I will never do business with this company again.
After being a customer with 3 rental properties, my guaranteed price per gallon for oil was raised by 40%. When speaking with your representative, she lied and stated that the price was as low as they could possibly go. I said no thank you and proceeded to get a succession of sales people calling and offering a minimally lower price. Seriously, all I had to do was call your competitors to see what their price was. In the end I got a per gallon price that was lower that your 2021 price and got 24/7 service. What kind of business are you? Your people tell lies and show no loyalty to a long term customer. Shame on you!
Waited almost a week for a credit check! I'll go to another company will not sign a contract with these people.
Buyer Beware (Price gouging) - we signed up for an automatic oil delivery contract for the year. Thought that the agreed price was “not to exceed” but it ended up being the price that we paid for the entire contract. Well the “Petro price” was consistently 30%++ higher than the cash price for delivery. So Petro wins and I lose. Never again
