Another GREAT service from South Side Plumbing and Heating!! Our technician this time was Rick, and he was fantastic! He was incredibly friendly, professional, and skilled. He was able to replace our garbage disposal, fix a leaky faucet, and diagnose the issue with our water tank, all in about an hour. Our water tank wasn't able to be repaired, but he expedited the process of getting it replaced. Within hours, another incredibly friendly and professional technician Kurt was at our house getting us set up to have it repaired. Amazing, fast, and friendly service as always!
Best plumber in the Pittsburgh area by far. The service was simply amazing and they were very professional. We had technician Brian come to the house and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. 10 Stars!
South Side Plumbing & Heating has become my go-to anytime I have a question or need support related to my HVAC. The most recent time I have called them, Ryan, the assigned technician, was incredibly helpful and knowledgable. I appreciated his common sense approach to solving my problem and setting me up for ongoing maintenance success in the future. If you live in the South Side, I'd highly recommend South Side Heating & Plumbing.
The installation team (Ryan and others) were excellent. We had to insist on a larger AC Unit, as there was unaccounted square footage. Also surprised that there was drilling through an outside wall that was not explained when getting and signing the bid. STILL....I'd recommend them highly- the price was very reasonable- definitely less than others! And the work was completed efficiently and with no worries by an excellent team of workers. Would definitely use South Side Plumbing and Heating again!!
I would give ZERO STARS if that were an option. I have never been bullied by an organization and treated so unprofessionally before. Southside allegedly did $2k worth of unauthorized and unapproved work at my house over the course of 2 months, neglected to even inform me that it was being done, then demanded the money from me and is now trying to force a lien on my property. I am undoubtedly being treated this way because I am a young single woman and they assumed that I could be strong-armed into this with threats. Management refused to even call me to discuss or explain. I will be seeking legal action.
South side plumbing has always provided five star service for me. They are always prompt, explain what they’re gonna do down to the last penny and do exactly what they promise.
They arrived on time and the technician got straight to work. Did a couple diagnostic tests and found what the problem was and repaired it quickly. Eli did a great job and we definitely use these guys again.
We have used SSP+H for all our plumbing and heating needs since buying our house 5 years ago or so, and they were the plumbers the prior owners used too. We have always felt well attended to by their office staff and technicians, and though calling any professionals for service certainly makes a dent in the bank account, I’ve always felt their prices were fair and that they make an effort to present the most efficient options, helping to save on labor costs when possible. Most recently, Eli and his colleagues came out for what ended up being three days of service. He updated our plumbing to include vents in several locations and capped off old terracotta lines no longer in use. He also discovered and remedied a stubborn clog. Eli was very professional and good humored despite having to return several times, especially in frigid weather. He made a significant effort to explain every step to me and my husband, and answered all of our questions fully. He made recommendations for next steps, and was clear when some of my questions could be better answered by Bill in the office, who he was also staying in close contact with. Prior to this visit, Bill spent time with me over the phone reviewing photos and taking steps to diagnose the issue, which also helped us save a bit on costs. Great service from this business: highly recommend.
My experience with South Side plumbing and heating has been 10 Star from scheduling to services rendered. All of the techs that addressed several difficult problems incurred from a recent ice storm were wonderful. Eli was the most recent tech at my home, he Quickly diagnosed a problem with my shower and calmly repaired it in record time. The techs work very efficiently and are all respectful and responsive to your concerns. I HIGHLY recommend this company.
Jeremy was absolutely amazing to work with to fix our plumbing issues. We had another company assigned through our home warranty who had (likely intentionally) misdiagnosed our pipe leak and we were told they would need to open up our ceiling to find the leak. Thank god we got another opinion and made the switch to Southside Plumbing! Jeremy fixed our original issue in no time at all, which (as we thought) was not a concealed leak, he was honest, fair priced, and did excellent work. He saved our ceiling and our money! He even stayed to help me troubleshoot another issue I had suspected and was able to replace our pressure regulator in the same service call. We will be return customers and we have found our new plumbers!
Mike and Eli were real pros, came for the install right away and were very efficient. Highly recommended!
Had an excellent experience with Southside Plumbing today for a boiler repair. They responded to my call very quickly (which was important on a cold day without heat.) Ryan was great - friendly & professional. He diagnosed the problem quickly, explained the situation and options and took care of it promptly. It’s nice and warm now and we appreciate the great service!
My sewer drain was clogged and was backfilling and flooding my basement. They unclogged it quickly and cleaned up after. Very professional, will be using them in the future.
Cody and Neil were awesome. Made it on time and were able to unclog my drain and install a new garbage disposal in under 2 hours. Cleaned up after themselves and were very professional. Would recommend south side to any one as well as these two gentlemen. Very knowledgeable and efficient.
They fixed my issue quickly and were able to explain what the cause was in a way that was easy to understand. I will absolutely be recommending Southside Plumbing to everyone moving forward.
Everyone from Bill on the phone to Neil and Cody who did the work were all phenomenal to work with. They made sure they we understood every option and educated us throughout the whole process. I don’t think I have ever worked with a better plumbing company. I would recommend them to anyone.
Great experience! Prompt, professional and respectful. Service manager spent a lot of time gathering information before a plumber was scheduled. Plumber was able to diagnose a water issue that countless others have not. Ended up being an external issue and not even a plumbing issue - which illustrates how thorough these folks are! He even made recommendations on remediation — although outside of their wheelhouse. Would highly recommend.
I hired multiple times for some smaller projects and they did fine although was told some of their practices were questionable. I had them for a big project that included excavating a pipe behind my house and their excavator hit the foundation buckling and causing thousands of dollars to fix. They told me after the fact that it was always a possibility of happening and that they would not fix the damages or give me their insurance information to file a claim. I was in the house at the time of the event. I felt an impact from the second floor. The opinion of questionable practice is from a third party plumber I got a second opinion from for work that needed done.
Overall: Make sure you get EVERYTHING said in writing and know you are going to be responsible for many calls to get your work scheduled (even after paying down payment). When I moved into my condo there was a small leak between an old copper pipe and a more contemporary metal. I found this out in my home inspection and when I went to get it looked at I emailed my inspection to SSP&H. They looked at it and told me that it would be a simple pipe fix. I tried to explain that my inspector said that the repair would require the water to be shut off since it was a main line that was leaking. They steam rolled over that and suggested that's not true, me not being a plumber said ok. Then they show up to do the work and immediately said this is going to require that the water be shut off and we need to have someone come do an estimate. The person who showed up had also not looked at the inspection with pictures and details that I had emailed in making this appointment. Then they charged me 90$ for showing up even though the inspection would have clearly told them that it required the water being shut off and would have required an estimate. I was then told by the dispatcher that I would pay now and then if I went with them for the repair they would remove the 90$ from my final bill. Fine, I said I just want to get this done it would take another two weeks to schedule the inspection after repeated calls (and this should have probably been a warning sign, but I was trying to get this repair done). Then when I get the estimate and ask if they will remove the earlier fee from it they said that no one had ever said that and it would not be possible. I tried to ask them to honor this and explained the story of inspection, but the dispatcher who I had been speaking with before being switched over to estimates department never responded to my emails or as part of the threads between the two parts of the company when I tried to get clarification on this.
