I have used Portman for the last 5 years and I have always received great service, knowledgeable staff, and just professionalism in every way. If you need a HVAC reccomendation, try these guys out. You won't be disappointed!
Portman Mechanical consulted on our whole home renovation and addition. They were a real pleasure to work with. Tim (the owner) worked with us on energy modeling, duct design, specifying a system, and quality control for our GCs work. Other HVAC contractors, including our GCs, basically scoffed at the idea of using an air source heat pump in Cleveland. Tim immediately got what we were going for and helped make our electric home a reality. If you want to install a heat pump in northeast Ohio you should be working with Portman Mechanical. I really can't recommend them enough.
We were looking to get another year out of our older furnace that needed a repair. Tim originally came out to look at the furnace to determine if it would be recommended to have it repaired given its age (and gave us some great tips on energy efficiency based on what he was seeing at our house). We were happy to learn that they could recommend doing the repair and getting at least one more winter out of our older furnace (when others said no, or double the cost for repair). Mike did the repair. He was very knowledgeable about fixing what was a unique technical issue, provided excellent service, and charged us a very reasonable price (even in this time of inflation) to do the job. With his help, we're very happy to be getting at least another winter out of our older model furnace. We also consulted their website to determine what is the current best rate for natural gas and electrical. I wouldn't be surprised if they are one of the most knowledgeable teams in heating and cooling out there.
The staff are so knowledgeable, professional and honest. Portman mechanical was recommended to me by a neighbor, and I can see why! I am so grateful for their assistance with my HVAC unit!

This company was amazing ! The head tech Mike came out was professional and friendly and fixed my air conditioner in a hour. The office girl Jennifer was just as friendly!!! Thanks for coming out so fast! I will be a client forever!! There is a reason this company has 5 stars!

Highly recommend!!! Called about a strange and worrying smell coming from the duct work and what we thought was the furnace. Mike was able to arrive in less than 2 hours. Although the problem ended up not being the furnace & was outside the house, Mike was SO helpful and kind to troubleshoot with us for 45 minutes. He really cared about figuring out the issue for our safety. Will DEFINITELY be calling him back for all our HVAC tune-ups and work!

Found Portman through the American Standard website and I couldn't be happier with the service I received from start to finish. Jennifer helped me communicate my problem with the technician and answered several questions. Portman was honest, fair and repaired my AC unit within a couple days of me contacting them. I had a quote from another American Standard dealer that was about 60% more than Portman. I will definitely be using Portman in the future.
I've had Tim's company install a complete custom system at my shop and do a few basic tasks at my home as well. Not only are they beyond professional, but they are friendly, knowledgeable, honest, and talented at their craft. I can not recommend them highly enough!
I just wanted to let everyone know that this company is second to none in their field. We had problems with our a/c unit and called to have it looked at. I spoke with Jennifer and was able to get Mike to come take a look at it the very next day. This was during the massive thunderstorms we had last week. Between the rain, the heat advisory, Mike was outside doing a fantastic repair of our unit and went above and beyond what we could've ever expected. We are blessed to have you in our area and are very grateful for what you have done for us!!! Folks, this company is the real deal and I highly recommend them. You have a customer for life!!!
Called Portman Mechanical for a same-day service call to fix a furnace at one of my rental properties. They were able to send a technician out there within only a few hours. Mike was very nice and professional, and was able to quickly fix the furnace during the same visit. Will definitely call them again if I have another HVAC issue.
