Excellent service and professional staff. Our AC broke in the midst of a hot week. Watkins had an agent out within the day, diagnosed the problem, ordered parts in a timely manner, and fixed our AC within days.

I have mixed feelings, and am signed up with a service plan with Watkins. They helped get an older furnace fixed over the 2020 winter. All the techs and receptionists I've spoken to are friendly. I've yet to hear from them to do our AC tune-up in the spring as they are to schedule this, its closing on end of May. Some history.... We paid roughly $1000 bucks to replace some furnace parts over winter, and they did service the same day. Although 32 days after another call was made to replace a part that was rated to low for our furnace setup. It was 2 days out of warranty and the part cost another 300 bucks. We can't turn the furnace up past 70 in the winter or the unit seems to struggle. We are also told not to use any filters. The furnace blows about 130 degrees Fahrenheit out of the closest vent. Which seems troublesome. I'm sure I annoyed the tech with questions and I was watching him repair as I was genuinely curious. Our furnace is about 10 years old and we are told not to use filters any with it due to poor circulation in our vents (causing it to overheat). I have really bad allergies and wonder how healthy it is for the furnace itself, and me to run like this. We were using 2 but even with the 1 it seemed to struggle. I'm trying to keep an open mind about the service and see if the parts keep failing that they replace. I gave Watkins 1 stars due to my last experience and the value for the 33 dollar monthly buy in program. I'm unhappy with the level of communication, customer service, and about the unit and possible solutions. It seems like its always a filter issue. If I see no improvements over the next year on both service and quality of parts I'll update the review to match. I'm also planning to have our vents looked at by another company, but wish this was a service Watkins could provide as part of a package plan especially if it would solve some issues. Update after a year of the Watkins service plan... Some things that stuck out: 32 days after the first

Nick was phenomenal- pretty stark difference between him and the two techs from other companies who visited our home in a 3 day period. Can't say enough good things about my experience.

The Watkins techs were prompt, friendly and efficient. They fixed a problem that had it gone unchecked, could have cost us a lot of money. And they didn't even mind my crazy dogs! We love their bi-annual service and feel it's definitely saved us money.

We consulted Watkins for a second opinion after another company insisted the compressor in our 4-year-old Trane system needed to be replaced. Turned out the other company (which had installed the Trane) sent out a technician who didn't know how to properly measure something correctly, so after being reassured that our system was fine, we switched to Watkins for regular maintenance of the Trane (AC and Furnace), the whole house humidifier and the tankless water heater. Watkins visits twice a year for preventive maintenance, takes care of everything that needs to be done and we never worry about a thing. We appreciate that courteous and knowledgeable professionals always show up on time equipped to perform the work that needs to be done. Thanks, Watkins!

did one repair I don't understand! He was very personable and we have requested that he do our winter service, now that he is familiar with the house layout and where the units are located. We have had Watkins for several years, and we also live in Springboro. Having a "hometown" business means a lot. judybush

Friendly, Responsive, Professional! When the 19 year-old AC system in our house started leaking condensate water onto the floor (rather than pumping it outside), I had to find an AC repair company. Googling "AC repair Kettering OH" showed some of the "big name" companies whose ads I'd seen on TV. Great...umm...not. I looked at their reviews on Yelp & Google, and was dismayed at just how poorly they were rated. Luckily (for me), I also saw Watkins' name in my Google search. While they've only got ~10 reviews on Yelp (a bit low, I thought, for a company in business for over 30 years), those reviews are all excellent. Hmmm... Googling Watkins Heating showed a LOT more reviews (~650) on Google itself, with an average of 4.9 out of 5 stars. So...I went to Watkins' website and set up a service appointment for the very next day. One very minor grumble...my appointment was set for 12 noon (with an understanding that it might be as late as 2 PM). I tried to be patient, but called Watkins' around 2:10PM, and learned that the technician (Andy) was finishing up his current job. Andy called me at 2:30PM, and was at our house about 20 minutes later. In a perfect world, he'd have been at our house between 12:00 & 2:00. Unfortunately, reality isn't quite like that. In any case, Andy arrived & I showed him the problem. In a short while, he gave me a detailed report about what was causing the water leak (a hose had popped off the condensate water pump, which was buried under the concrete slab BENEATH the almost 20-year-old AC unit). He said that he could secure the hose back in place, so that was the initial lowest cost approach. Unfortunately, even after he'd re-attached the drain hose & tested that it was pumping water properly, the 2003-vintage water pump was making a threatening noise suggesting that it was on its last legs. He again offered various options to addressing the problem (ranging from leave the old pump in service to raise the old AC unit off the f

Today's service call was efficient, on-time, and thorough. The service gentleman helped to clarify and resolve contract issues regarding warranty coverage and the original contract. He was extremely polite, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. He was also helpful in educating me as to my HVAC system. Overall, so far, I am very impressed with Watkins H & C.
