We love Solar Flare! I found this company when we moved to Ohio and our unit needed to be replaced. I gathered multiple quotes and they came out on top with best price and installation. We have continued to use them for our preventive maintenance every year as well. The office staff is always professional and responsive.... all around a great company! You won't be disappointed.
Gaelan Smith is amazing...great customer service, honest, timely and fair pricing. A/C unit went out during the 90+ degree temperatures. Had 2 other companies comes out who wanted to sell us a new unit at $6K+ and $9K+. Gaelan came prepared to troubleshoot the unit versus trying to sell us a new unit (he found a loose wire).
Gaelon has excellent customer service skills! He was on time, very knowledgeable and reasonably priced. We had him out 2 different times for a quote and service! He resolved our problem and figured out our thermostat wasn't wired to properly handle 2 stage furnace or ac. We will most definitely be calling him in the future for any of our hvac needs!
If I could give 6 stars I would! We had our gas control valve break down on us this week and I thought it would take several days to fix. As fate would have it we called Solar Flare, they came out and inspected it and even though we have an older furnace and the part is pretty rare, he had the part on his truck waiting for its new home with us! We have a small child so a quick repair was definitely essential! Thank you again for fixing this for us! We will definitely be using Solar Flare Heating and Air for all our future HVAC repairs!
My thermostat unexpectedly died on me on New Year's Day and my heat wouldn't turn on. I found Solar Flare through a FB page recommendation - I called around 10:30am and Gaelan had my heat up and running by 12:30pm. He quickly diagnosed the problem, recommended a new thermostat to me and showed me where to order it from (and how to get the best price), and even installed a temporary thermostat for me while I wait for the new one to arrive. I could tell he was really knowledgeable and I will definitely be calling him for all my future HVAC needs. I was super grateful for him to come out so quickly not only on a Sunday but on a holiday too. 100% recommend!
I have used Solar Flare for several years now. They have always been prompt, and the job is done right. I also completely trust their judgment and integrity. They have never tried to upsell or perform work that wasn't necessary. I trust them completely . Companies like this are hard to find.
This is the second time we’ve used Solar Flare and will continue to use for any other HVAC needs. The owner is very responsive and honest. He keeps customers updated and does what he says he will do when he says he will do it. His employees are professional and punctual. They clean up their work spaces and are respectful of the homes/ properties they are in. So thankful we were referred to this company and we will refer others to them time and time again.
I came home to a 83° house and they had my system repaired on the hottest day of the year within 2 hours. Honest, trust worthy and extremely Professional! 5 stars!
A part on our A/C unit stopped working and Solar Flare was contacted to diagnose and resolve the issue. I had the pleasure of dealing with the technician Gaelan. He is truly professional and educated on what he does! Becky was just as great on the communication and scheduling side of things! I would highly recommend Solar Flare.
I would recommend this company to anybody. They repaired our AC unit for our bedroom and added coolant to our AC unit for the lower level. Price was very reasonable and the job was completed in a timely manner. We are beyond happy with the service we received. Thank you !
Solar Flare is an excellent company. Gaelan came out as soon we called. Our furnace was out and only 6 degrees outside. He repaired it explain everything and at a very reasonable cost. Will definitely use them for all my HVAC needs. Thank you Solar Flare!
This review is a long time over due but, July 4th weekend my outside AC unit died. I had called another HVAC service that I had used before because they are plastered all over my unit (First time home-owner so I just called the number I saw). Anyways, the original people wanted me to get a whole new system; inside and out. Was going to cost me over $12K and of course, they only had one unit in their warehouse but I had to commit right then and there or else I could lose it and there wasn't any other units that would fit my house and I would have to order. Well I talked to my friends and they referred me to Solar Flare and they showed up that day to take a look and I tell you what... I'm Glad I called them. They went through, looked at my system, saw that it was only the outside unit that had gone bad (Chip-board malfunction) and was able to get me just an outside unit and install for me the next day. Saved me over $10K worth of expenses. And my dog was ecstatic too! Literal Life Savers. 10/10 will always use Solar Flare for my future HVAC needs. Hands down!
Very easy to deal with. They inspected our furnace and gave us some tips for saving money on our heating and air bills. We plan to use them to install a new digital thermostat. Tech was friendly and there when he said he would be. Thank you!

FOLLOW UP - 3 YEARS LATER: For the last three years, I have used no other HVAC company than SFH&A. I've had issues twice this summer (2021), in the thick of the season. Both times I thought I was doomed for a replacement unit. Both times I told SFH&A that "I'm pretty sure I need a new unit at this point, let me know what it costs and if you offer financing directly." They could have sold me anything, and I would have bought it. Both times, they fixed the unit for less than $200, and on the same day. I still never write reviews, as I mentioned below - the only two I've ever written are for this team. I don't believe the Church as much as I trust Gaelen and his crew. 110% loyalty to this company. INITIAL REVIEW: Gaelan was extremely professional, helpful, honest, and fair - he squeezed me in during the "start of summer" busy season took care of my issue in less than an hour. I never write reviews, but this one is well deserved. TASTY TREATS!
Do not trust an inspection from this company!! We were buying a home and they reviewed the AC as old but functioning properly. A week after moving in the AC stopped working. Had someone from two different companies(shopping around for new ac quotes) look at it and they found two very obvious leaks and damaged parts. Some of the parts were normal wear and tear, but there was no way a professional looked at our unit and would not immediately notice the leaks. EDIT: Exact quote from invoice that both we and the bank used to evaluate the unit "AIR CONDITIONER IS OLD BUT WORKING PROPERLY AT TIME OF INSPECTION. FURNACE IS ALSO WORKING PROPERLY"
We as a family have had the good fortune of choosing Solar Flare to repair our a/c. Galen has provided us with excellent service repeatedly. No repair has been too small and no repair is left undone. His work ethic is simply outstanding and we highly recommend him.
Gaelan and Solar Flare were excellent to work with for my HVAC issue. The response time and diagnosis were very timely (morning of my call). Once the diagnosis was given, I was explained my options and felt no pressure in making my decision. Gaelan was very communicative, even on the weekend, which showed me he cared about answering my questions and helping resolve the issue. Overall my experience was very smooth, easy-going, and I would recommend Solar Flare for future work.
Solar Flare heating and Air did an amazing job. My AC unit went out during the night. I called the next morning and by 1100 they were on there way. The owner Gaelon ( hope I spelled it right) was the one that came out. He was very friendly and personable. He found the problem very fast and fixed it. He checked to make sure everything else was working properly. I will spread him name around as much as I can. I will definitely be using them from here on out. Great company with great values!!!
Absolutely recommend this company for heating and AC. Last summer I had another company out to look at my AC unit because it was blowing out warm air. They immediately said I needed an entire new unit and quoted me $7000+. Didn't even entertain the idea that maybe it just needed serviced. Called Gaelen he came out did a simple charge and cleaning and it was working just fine. Today I called Gaelen about my furnace blowing out cold air. He was out same day took a look and fixed the issue. Always responsive and on time. Professional, friendly and very fairly priced.
