Dandelion finished installing our Geothermal heating and cooling system in May of this year. Throughout the whole process, Dandelion was with us every step of the way. Everyone whom I had the pleasure of interfacing with has been great to work with. During each phase of the project, you are provided with details on what will occur and the appropriate amount of time the phase is expected to take. If issues arise, you are informed of any changes relatively quickly.

We had a geothermal HVAC system installed this May. The team that worked for us was so knowledgeable, respectful, and courteous. They were able to explain our system, answer all our questions before and during installation, and went out of their way to make sure that we were happy every step of the way. The entire company has been excellent at communicating, showing up on time and treating our home with care as though it was their own. I highly recommend them. The finished product is efficient, easy to use, and the Dandelion staff continue to be excellent resources whenever we have a question about using the new thermostat. We are thrilled with our investment and so happy we went with Dandelion.

Google Forbes and Dandelion or Newsday and Dandelion and check out their article before contracting with them. Its been a nightmare, they made mistakes in regards to the overall design of my system, which required them to add additional dutcwork leading the loss of half of a closet, a basement full of ductwork which looks like it belongs in an office building. The system is poorly sized, loud, the force of the air is strong and is not saving me any money. I wanted to love them, they look flashy with their apps and design team, but don't know what they are doing. They are too big, too fast. the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing You are better off with a local company that doesn't contract out and has the experience. Its ok that they don't have a flashy website.

Big fan of the concept, and we would do it again if we were to start from scratch, despite the so-so experience so far with project completion. Very “white-glove” treatment till contract was signed. Heavily reliant on subcontractors since then. Unsatisfactory level of communication once outside work completed. 220-volt electrical board for the house to replace the existing one apparently not ordered with time to spare as we are 7-8 months into contract (“supply chain” issues). At least a month in delay. I strongly believe in the technology and its future, but execution so far has been inconsistent. Good luck!

Dandelion was great to interface with every step of the process. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. The system works great. The cost to operate and payoff the system is completely offset by the cost of fuel oil, and we get the added bonus of efficient AC in the summer. No money up front and the tax advantages make switching to Dandelion an easy decision. Thank you Dandelion!

Beware the sales pitch and false promises. Their FAQs on timeline for the overall process are wrong. I talked to them about getting a new geothermal system installed and I asked specifically for a timeline before I signed anything and confirmed that there was no fee to use a credit card as payment (so I can get the cashback rewards, which is around $500). I was told that it would take 6-8 months (back in April) and there was no fee, so I agreed to pay for the system in cash vs. a loan. I sign a bunch of paperwork and send in my initial payment of $3000 to get the process started within 24 hours of that call. I then get assigned an account manager who immediately tells me that it will actually take around 13 months, which means I now need to pay for this system and another winter of oil expense I wasn't expecting (projecting around $4000). I explain how that timeline is not was I was originally told and they just said sorry, but that's the timeline. 1 month later, they tell me that they are adding a processing fee to all credit card payments, so now I'm out another $500 because they didn't even bother to grandfather in existing contracts. So far I am 2 months into the process and all I have gotten is emails stating basically "too bad, so sad", an initial inspection where I was told my house was the easiest he has ever inspected and I should have a shortened timeline due to how straightforward it is, and a final design 2 months later telling me everything the inspector already knew and told me. Took them 2 months to tell me that they are drilling right where the salesman said they would and are putting the air pump exactly where my current heat pump is with no changes to my ductwork...2 months. I am only giving 2 stars because the inspector was on time and professional, but might have to drop the star if the rest of the process is this bad. Edit: was told more lies and am now in a 6 month waiting period for them to do the interior install (a 2 day job according to th

Incompetent and dishonest. Go with a company with experience, not a tech startup that doesn’t have the knowledge on how to design a geothermal system. You’ll regret it.

Dandelion finished our geothermal heating and cooling system installation a few weeks ago. Every single person I dealt with at the company was lovely, from the salesman to the installers to the account managers. The drilling process was amazing and fascinating to watch. The inside installation took longer than expected (three full weeks vs. the two weeks they had estimated) but they were very apologetic about the delay and they took the time to get it all right in the end. The system is working incredibly well. Night and day difference in comfort compared to our previous heating system, an old oil furnace. It even kept us warm during the cold blast last weekend, when it was only 6 degrees outside. I am thrilled not to need oil anymore. I can't wait to see how the AC feels in the summer. The project took about ten months to complete, from signing the contract to being completely done. The salesman originally estimated we would have our system finished by "late fall" and that is exactly what happened. It is a multi-stage process and I believe there is a significant waiting list to get started, so if you're interested start the process ASAP!

Finished are installation in Oct 2022, we had a geothermal unit installed. The drilling crew and the installers were all great. Love the way it heats without drying out the air in the house. The system is an amazing upgrade from our old oil furnace and AC unit.

Beware of Dandelion Energy (especially in WNY)!! They lied and misrepresented themselves nonstop from the beginning. They continually led us on for 8 months, lying about just about every aspect of the project while alternating between refusing to even respond in a timely manner, to making up excuses and stalling. Then out of nowhere cancelled our contract citing geology issues and business changes. Absolutely the worst, least professional experience I've ever had with ANY company, and completely shameful given the price of what they're supposed to be selling/providing. I can't stress enough how awful of a company this is and how inept and dishonest their employees are on every level. Even their good reviews often cite an awful process, delays, cost increases over their own quotes, etc etc etc. Do yourself a favor and shop around for an experienced local geothermal installer, not these bait and switch scammers.

Actual service was a geothermal heat pump installation, which replaced my oil furnace and central air conditioner. The process took a long time, about a year from signing the contract, including four months from the initial drilling to the installation of the heat pump, but it was worth it. I will have to reseed the front lawn and level out the ruts from the machines, but that is a small price to pay to be done with fossil fuels. They removed my old furnace and AC condenser, the install is nice and clean and the system is working very well, keeping my house at a constant 71 degrees.

BUYER BE WARE: I signed a contract in March of this year. Plan was to have installation July/Aug. First sign of trouble was that they didn't have the staff to do the initial site survey - they had to hire someone!! Next: Design was suppose to be delivered within 4 weeks - which then changed to 8 weeks - which became close to 12 weeks. Had to submit changes to the design (asked to speak to the person working on my design and was denied - had to submit changes in writing). Waited over 4 weeks and never got the changes back. Permits came in and I was told it would be up to THREE MONTHS to have the drilling start!! That would put us at Dec - still not updated design! Received an email last week that they are no longer doing ductless and BTW - we are cancelling your contract! So after investing over 8 months with these knuckleheads, they decided it was too hard/expensive to do the work THAT THEY CONTRACTED TO DO - boo hoo!! Don't trust a word they they tell you. They cannot be trusted to keep their commitments.

We recently decided to talk to Dandelion about geothermal, but since we did not have ductwork we first asked if ductless was an option, first we were told not at this time, that it was a pilot, and then shortly thereafter it was a yes. I proceeded to take pictures of the property, do the sales call etc. The sales person was extremely nice and knowledgeable, we received the contract but waiting a few weeks since we had other events happening. I reach out to the salesperson to ask a few questions before I sign only to be told that the ductless option was no longer offered because it took too long to install and was complex. Even if I signed, the contract would have been terminated. Dandelion is definitely missing a huge chunk of the market with not offering ductless. I believe their mission is definitely spot on and geothermal is an option, but only if you have the ductwork. They need to better scale their business, unfortunately I cannot proceed and will have to find alternatives.

Overall happy with the system and outcome but painful process. Would recommend Dandelion to others because of the mission, end product, and cost after rebates and tax credits. So far the AC has been frigid! The local crew of Dan, Manny, Ron, Morty, and Victoria made a clean and professional install and took care of my specific requests for pipe runs and equipment location. Be prepared for the drilling and trenching to leave your yard in a very rough grade state and damage sprinklers, so factor those repairs and landscaping into your decision. The process took 8 months total and if I hadn’t been as involved or committed to getting geothermal it would have turned out poorly. These were some of the issues along the way: 1. The design layout of my home was all wrong so I had to mark it up with corrections 2. I got in writing from the account manager (AM) & designer that my air handler upstairs could be relocated a few feet away as marked up in a photo by me, but then that couldn’t be fully accomplished during install w/o a $3k upcharge so we made a new compromise plan. 3. Salesperson told me the main panel upgrade (MPU) owner’s obligation in my contract was always there and wouldn’t be needed, but then before install my AM and designer tried saying it was or I wouldn’t get Aux heat. I was finally able to show them that an MPU wasn’t needed but they still removed Aux heat from the downstairs unit and left it in the upstairs unit where it will never be needed because all the heat rises in my home. 4. AM told me the customer needs to pick up the permit, but when doing so the town said that’s not true, and then the install crew showed up with it anyway. 5. The crew gouged a spot on my new wood floors removing the old equipment (spot wasn’t protected at the time) and then Dandelion took the position of using the contract to state that they’re not responsible for damages. They did eventually resolve the issue satisfactorily.

Waste of time. Told them repeatedly what I needed, they were only interested in booking me in a 2 plus hour sales call which was a waste of time. They then Told me they could not provide for one of my requirements (which I had told them multiple time about before). They then never were able to provide a quote that they were suppose to send. I suppose if you have a cookie cutter house and want to experience a sleezy sales approach this is your company. If you want something more customer oriented for a big investment I would avoid this company.

This was the single worst customer experience of my life, bar none. The yard was destroyed; the geothermal unit failed to deliver because it caught on fire during testing; and then the ground loops installed by their "partner" never worked. We terminated the relationship with Dandelion and had a second set of ground loops installed. Final cost: more than twice Dandelion's original estimate.

Dandelion Energy installed a 4 ton and 3 ton unit in my house. I had relied on the Google Reviews of the experience to make my decision. So here's my contribution back to the community. The process through COVID was smooth. The process of estimating the system, planning, getting the necessary permits etc. was seamless. I also did not have any surprises regarding the installation, price etc. in a negative way. I had a pleasant surprise when the state of CT increased the rebate amount (although I am yet to find out what impact it will have for me specifically). We did have some challenges post installation that I want to point out to other homeowners to be aware of. The Geothermal system moves fluids around - a lot of connections. While I was concerned about leaks underground which is handled well by the Dandelion approach, I did not appreciate the challenges of leaks inside the house. There is a ground flow loop, there is a hot water loop and there is a condensate pump all moving water (With 2 systems we had 6 places where leaks can develop). We had leaks in 3 of them. Also, there is no sensor to detect water on the base or ground or inside the unit itself. So unless the homeowner is vigilant about watching out for leaks this can go undetected and I imagine leading to rusting and premature failure. Figuring out the source of the leak is a challenge - the ground flow liquid is oily to touch while the other two are just water. Dandelion to their credit has been responsive in addressing the leaks as they happened. But 3 months after the install, I still find small amount of water under one unit - that I hope is from the most recently addressed leak. I have dried everything up with towels and will have to monitor over the next month. If you try to sell the house the inspectors will likely use a device that can find trace amounts of moisture under these. So please pay attention especially in the first 2-3 months of heating season and 2-3 months of cooling season to ma

Dandelion Energy recently installed a 4 Ton geothermal system to replace the oil boiler and AC system that were installed 18 years ago. We were looking for a way heat and cool our home that would complement the 9Kw solar array that we have. The entire experience was very professional and pleasant. All the employees from the Project Manager to the heat pump installers were a pleasure to work with and were very open to explaining their role in the entire process. We were very surprised by how the cleanup process left less damage to the lawn than we expected. We attribute this to the use of the Sonic Drill. It is truly a "lawn saver". We highly recommend utilizing Dandelion Energy to install your Geothermal System. We no longer worry about the fluctuating prices of oil or hearing a noisy AC unit while enjoying the backyard in the summer. Not to mention the savings that accompany this installation that makes this upgrade a financial must have.

Used dandelion to update the oil furnace and hot water heater in my 1950's house to geothermal. With their new drill rig, they were able to access my rocky backyard and do the install. Great to not have an oil tank and oil bills anymore, and now I have a modern system that maintains my home at a much more uniform temp than the old furnace did. Electric bill up only incrementally over before. The drilling etc was obviously not quick but the changeover from the old system to the new took about 48 hours.

If you're on the fence about geothermal, I'd recommend going for it. If you care about the Earth and/or care about your wallet, this system is for you. If you are patient, as the process takes months from start to finish, this is for you. If you appreciate top notch customer service and a company at the top of its game, call Dandelion. I know the cost seems daunting, I get it, but the cost of financing my geothermal is $80 less a month than last year's propane budget and, while propane will certainly rise in cost over the following years, my loan payment never will. I mean, why would anyone NOT get this system installed? Seriously? Thank you Dandelion! PS- You ever stand near your central air unit, while it labors away midsummer, and feel the heat radiating from it? Well, Dandelion uses that energy to preheat the water entering your hot water tank! Pretty dang cool (pun intended). Update: 3/28/2021 Make sure you insulate your ductwork when they recommend it. I didn’t, as I’d forgotten, and the delta between a room upstairs and one downstairs was 8 degrees during heating season. A half a day spent insulating the ducts brought the delta to <1 degree. Make sure you listen to what they tell you!
