The technician was very polite, knowledgeable and informative. I had to wait several weeks for my AC maintenance but it was well worth the wait. Will use this company again for all future maintenance and repairs.
We had a great experience with these guys last summer when our AC failed. Then in the fall we called them because our boiler wouldn't come on. We cancelled the appointment for the boiler because I fixed the problem myself, but it was a good experience regardless. Very friendly on the phone and the AC repair last summer was cheap, fast, and friendly.

I have had the pleasure of doing business with this company for many years. Early on, John could have tried to push an air conditioning unit on me but he never once did. Instead, knowing I was a budget, he helped me get the most out of my swamp cooler unit and that worked well for us through many seasons. As we began to rent out our house out when we weren't here, and as the business grew, I decided last year it was time to provide AC for summer guests. Not only for those hot weeks that Santa Fe inevitably gets, but because of potential smoke from nearby (or faraway!) wildfires, which makes opening windows a problem. I've been so grateful to have the new unit for the guests. John can come across as gruff, but over-friendliness can be a cover for incompetence in this town, and John is anything but. Besides, true friendliness is about action and John has fielded a number of early morning calls from me over the years when I've been in a pickle. His office staff is quick to answer the phone and responsive to all concerns. I have found his techs to be uniformly excellent. ACHS is a company you want to have a long term relationship with.
I had a hot water heat circulating pump that was on its way out. I called Air Conditioning and Heating Service Company in Santa Fe. I was able to get an appointment almost immediately. Tim arrived on time and replaced the pump quickly. He then let me know that the 30 yr old expansion tank and flow valve, probably the same age as the tank, needed to be replaced. I looked at all three parts and they definitely were worn out. Instead of me having to wait without heat for several days, Tim had the parts delivered and installed within a few hours. The heating system works perfectly now. I was surprised to learn the technician's hourly rate, in addition to 60 cents a mile round trip, started when he left the office, 25 miles away, rather then when he arrived. I'm not sure if that's common practice but I didn't pay that when the garage door tech came out to replace the garage door motor and track. Other than that surprise, I'm very happy with the work done and recommend Air Conditioning and Heating Service Company.
I recently had Air Condition and Heating Company install mini split heating in my home. My casita is adobe and can be awfully cold during the winter when left without burning wood for sometime. I researched mini split heating and made a perfect decision to have as my heating system-I am so happy and comfortably warm. I get home from work and my casita is so wonderfully warm. AC & Heating Company employees and owner are very professional and dedicated to getting the job done professionally and on time. They had to travel some miles to get to my town; yet always arrived at the time they set. I rate this company 100% and their employees.

We purchased a pair of 95% efficient heating and air conditioning units from these folks about two years ago. When negotiating for their purchase we were told that it would take 5 days to install the units and they did the job in that time. During the install the technicians did their best to keep our home clean, and left the area in our home where they were working immaculate. About 5 or 6 months after the units were installed we had some trouble with both of the heating units, which was caused by ice blocking the drain line of certain pumps. They quickly figured out what the problem was, and fixed it free of charge. The problem has not reoccurred, and both units have operated flawlessly since that minor inconvenience. We highly recommend these people. They provide a great product at a good price.
The entire crew is friendly, competent and honest. They show up on time, clean up after themselves, and in-between do excellent work at a reasonable price. Having developed a technical training course and written a 600 page training manual for home energy management and weatherization, I know something about their work, and it is superb.
I have been extremely happy with the service and attitude of the folks at AC&HSC. I have used the company for annual checkups of my furnace and hot air heating system for the past several years and they have been prompt, user friendly and efficient. Further, the prices charged were appropriate. I recommend the company highly.
