Awful service. Very overpriced. Months-long wait for an appointment and then they will repeatedly reschedule the day before. Don’t recommend.
Our technician Joseph was great! He was very helpful and knowledgeable he answered all the questions we had and did a fantastic job.
Branden Dejesus is a wonderful heating and A/C tech & now I always request him for my summer & fall maintenance service. He’s polite & friendly, very neat and tests the units thoroughly to keep them running at top efficiency and to extend their lifespan. His extremely clear technical explanations help me in deciding if a repair is needed right away or if I have a little time.
Design Air did original install in 2021. Great job! Called into them in March or April to get a maintenance on the system and found out they were bought by Gold Medal. Gold Medal dispatcher said the earliest appt would be May 30th..TODAY. Gave them MY MOBILE LINE as ONLY number to use. Well they were supposed to be here btwn noon and 4pm and never showed. I Called them. They said the tech left a msg on a LAN line I no longer use stating they were overbooked and had to cancel. They want to reschedule, after waiting 2 months, for this SUNDAY!. I said "Need someone here within 48 hours or your fired bc I waited long enough for this appt, waited around all day today and it is going to be in the 90s later this week." Rep had to speak to supervisor....for 3 seconds. "Sorry, sir we will have to cancel your appt. Since we cannot have someone there within 48 hrs and you said you would fire us." I said, ok. You just lost a customer and advised the young man to go look online at reviews of your company. Horrible! You may want to look for another job.
Where do I start with the sales man the First follow up from office price not giving me what I was told nothing in writing and shady work. I could go on and on.
The technician seemed efficient, professional and knowledgeable. But, he did work before telling me, which I was billed for and paid, even though I had only made an appt for an $89 consultation/evaluation. I told him multiple times that the system was not installed by GMS. I don't understand why he was under the impression that it was under warranty. It seems unfair to charge for work I did not approve or ask for. Edit: The customer service reached out to me and actually listened to my concerns. They reimbursed me for the work that was done without my knowledge. I would consider using them again, granted there is better communication.
Michael has worked for us in different areas of our home, Hot water on demand install & adding new plumbing into our aged bathroom. He did an amazing, clean, professional job! Highly recommended.
Brand new hvac they installed broke …. Called them told me they don’t have the parts stuck waiting 4 days in 90 degree heat . Honestly could not care less about a customer after they have your money I’m sure the high reviews are from when they were a local company not what they are now …. Avoid this company if you can only plus is they do come out fast for the initial visit fast sooo good for emergencies but expect to payyyyy here is the job number 959127976
This company took over our local AC & Heating company, our unit are under warranty, otherwise we would never do business with Gold Medal Service. Every year since they took over, our units fail to work properly, AC ALWAYS stops working about a year after the maintanance, same for our heating they have failed to adequately repair them and the parts that were supposed to be ordered, never were. This has been going on for 2 years. We never had this problem with the old company. This is so frustrating. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
This company let me call my town and Con Edison to schedule all the appointments for something that I was not familiar with. In the end of over two months of making a lot of phone calls and emails, Con Edision wanted to talk to Gold Medal direct to set up an appointment for DE and RE service. I've asked Gold Medal several times for a help but they just forwarded my call to different departments and in the end, they said it was my job to schedule all that. I've hired this company for other projects and spent so much money for that. I'm very upset how they treated me this time. Bad Service with no responsibility. Here is my comments on your response : To be clear, when I talked to your dispatcher, I asked him to forward me to a manger to file my complaint. He said he couldn't do it because he was only a dispatcher and Gold Medal system doesn't allow him to transfer customer's call (or only my call) to any other managers. I was never informed that I could talk to the Customer Relations Manager. I'll call you tomorrow. Contract#18687, Permit#22-461 1/10 I called Gold Medal. They let me place a ticket and asked me to wait again for 24 business hours until oen of their managers contact me. They asked me to call them and this is what I could hear. The guy on the phone confirmed again that under their policy, he couldn't share any manager's name, email or phone number. Wow. This is the worst service I've ever experienced. 1/13 10:35 pm They are still not calling me. 2/6 11:44 am I'm still calling them and still waiting for the Electrical manager to get back to me over a month. Feeling realy bad.
I moved to Ramsey one year ago and called Gold Medal Service based on a recommendation from the previous home owner (despite the company having a "new" company name which likely indicates a merger or new owner). 1) They showed up to replace my reverse osmosis filters and I was told that system and my water softener system needed to be fully replaced. I called an alternate company for a 2nd opinion the following day and was advised I still had several years of useful life left. 2) I called a few months later again for my three (3) furnaces to be inspected. The technician found a small leak in one of the three. He immediately suggested we replace that particular furnace along with the other two despite them being only ~10yrs old. I again called an alternate company for a 2nd opinion and they figured out that it was a broken condensate pump ($50 Amazon vs $30k quoted for one of three new furnaces) that was causing the leak. The other two furnaces were deemed to 10+ yrs left of useful life as well. I don't believe this was a coincidence or a mistake. Be cautious before agreeing to service or signing up for a service package.
Luis was very knowledgable and incredibly responsive. I had a plumbing issue and he was at my door within hours! Thank you Luis and Gold Medal.
Firstly, I’m 100% sure this company is editing the reviews on their page. There is no way they are rated this high. The amount of people I’ve heard being ripped off by Gold Medal is disgusting. They are unprofessional, rude, and not to mention entitled. I would never 1. Hire them to do work for me or 2. Work for them. I have heard horror stories of unfair treatment. Stop supporting a TRASH COMPANY. There are others who have been around way longer than gold medal, who charge realistic numbers and aren’t money hungry.
Loads of thanks to Michael who fixed our boiler finally right before the weather turns to 21F! Now our whole family can have hot water and heat. This guy really represents what gold medal service means!
Looks like I cannot leave two reviews so I will add to this one. They recently charged me $1,200.00 to change 4 lightbulbs and they are unwilling to refund me an appropriate amount. They will not provide a phone number for a corporate office nor will they connect me to a supervisor. I have no choice but to sue them for a refund. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are a scam! They leave a response asking me to call them back, but when I do they are unwilling to connect me to a supervisor. DO NOT FLIP this on me. Post a number to your corporate office and a name and I will call you. They talk a big game but service not so good. I have to call a central number, I constantly get balanced around as they try to find the right location, EVERY TIME. The did not show up for my appointment, when I called, they never called back, I have now been on the phone for 1.5 hours trying to find out if they will show up, no answer. I went through the chat, they were rude, would not offer a customer service email, provided a phone number when I pushed for one, the number didn't work, when I told her it didn't work she ended the chat. They are far from "gold medal service" maybe they have grown to large to provide the service they did at one point, now just a cumbersome, noon responsive corporation, go with a local guy, not them!
Twice they cancelled on me the morning of the service and in an emergency they could not come until the next day even with a maintenance agreement. They were great when they were Design Air. Now expensive and unreliable.
I have worked in the past with gold medal. Great service however, this time a much bigger job, I switch from oil to gas system. They have left my old furnace in my lawn in front of my house. I called at least 4 times. Every single time I was told they will pick it up next day, even a manager contacted me. It has been a week now. Very dissapointed.
These guys are thieves. After I spent $3500 on a previous job I wanted to get a quote for installing 4 light switches. They want to charge me $115 just to come out and give me a quote. These people are just middle men for the actual hard working electricians on their staff. GO TO A LOCAL ELECTRICIAN. These people exist to steal your money. Unbelievable they charge to give you estimate even though they have the price book right in front of them.
My a/c failed on a hot Saturday, contacted Gold Medal while not expecting repair tech on a Saturday, but tech arrived within a few hours. Very professional attitude, I explained problem, Lucas with tool bag and IPad went up into hot attic, quickly diagnosed the problem, showed me the failed part, and then completed the repair, a/c back in operation. He also took a number of photos (that later appeared in an email to me), diagnosed a motor not operating a peak efficiency and should be replaced. He also spoke of other problems with my 18+year a/c system that should be considered and offered options. Efficiently completed all the paperwork, billing, etc. Excellent employee.
Kyle H Williams was dispatched to my home to look over my AC system and he did a great job. Showed up right on time, wasn't pushy or salesman like, he gave me all my options in an honest fashion and we were very happy with his service. Great Job Kyle!
