When our home’s 2nd floor HVAC breaker kept tripping, we first called our electrician (R&M Houserites, who are fantastic), who, after inspection, said it was likely an issue with the HVAC itself. So would called an HVAC repair company, who told us the outdoor unit, the compressor, was “blown” and that the only option was replacement. His quote for a new unit was, to be nice, ridiculous. So with that we called Stay Cool to assess the unit. In short order, George, the owner of Stay Cool, diagnosed that the outdoor compressor, once started, had good power and all looked right with the unit (my words). The issue was that the compressor, on start-up, needed a little power boost to kick start the compressor on. He installed a “kickstarter”, which these outdoor compressors are equipped to be fitted with, and the upstairs bedrooms and other rooms have been perfectly cooled ever since. So much for our “blown” compressor and thousands of dollars immediately for a new system. Now, George said, the kickstarter repair could last short-term or be a long-term solution. For the cost of the kickstarter, every person in a similar situation should know that there was a far, far less expensive option. The issue is either technician knowledge (lack thereof) or greed. No issues with Stay Cool in either case. Thanks, George!
We needed to move 2 A/C units. The team was very professional and did an excellent job for a very competitive price. George is friendly, very responsive and went beyond expectations through the whole process. He filled out the permits and offered a follow up visit to properly calibrate the system. I would recommend Stay Cool to friends and family.

Stay Cool offers the best value for a high quality HVAC system and service. Fast and reliable, the system was professionally installed the next day. They went way beyond what was expected, with no extra costs. The ductwork was rearranged for increased airflow. Every vent was checked to ensure an optimal heating & cooling solution . They replaced the emergency furnace switch at the top of the stairs and offered useful tips for optimal heating and cooling. A stressful situation was made very pleasant. I highly recommend Stay Cool.

Stay Cool has serviced my home HVAC (two zones) for about 6 years, the last few of which George, the owner of Stay Cool, has helped me out by keeping me from the expense of a new compressor, but not even George could prevent the inevitable. So, when my first floor/lower level unit failed, I texted George and he called me back immediately. He soon after came to my house and he explained to me all my options, all the related work and the pricing. Given the cost to replace with a new Carrier 3.5 ton 16 SEER unit, with all new lines, etc., I did obtain other estimates. George’s pricing was less than the others and I knew I could trust him to do the job right. For me, the trust is as important as the pricing. Thanks George and the guys at Stay Cool.
We had an LG mini-split system installed by Bill Leary about 7 years ago. It was a total disaster. We needed service every year when the air conditioning would not work. We discovered it was the installation that caused the problem. The Bill Leary technicians installed the system with open metal gutters. We had birds nesting in the gutters, and my son had a bird's nest in his mini-split in his bedroom! We called George as he is a Mitsubishi Diamond contractor. George and Evan are simply THE BEST at what they do. We have 7 mini-splits in our rooms and two external units. George and Evan installed them last summer. The air conditioning and heating are fantastic! We also had our least expensive winter heating bills by using these as heat pumps. The Stay Cool team are true professionals - they are clean, they come when they say they will come, and install the product as if it was their own house. We would be happy to serve as a reference and show our system to anyone who is interested. Their work is so well done and the Mitsubishi system works perfectly. We also got a heat pump system to provide heat and air conditioning to our garage, which we use as an office/art studio. the Stay Cool group is fantastic. When I asked for references, George actually drove me around to meet with people who he had worked with. He was so proud of his work, and it shows. I’ll make this easy, just call George T. George and his team installed our whole new HVAC system in a day and 1/2. They recommended a specific setup and new exactly what our home needed and where to not overspend. I was impressed by the clean removal of our old rusty furnace and really happy with the professional install of our new American Standard AC and furnace.
We were in a bind due to a downed tree wrecking my AC during a heat wave. George came over and was very professional. He quickly identified the problem and even went step by step to explain what we needed and what we didn't need. Once the systems were in, we were feeling cool again in no time. They even came back the next day to regulate some fuses that were incorrect and fix the humidifier on the zone that they didn't even work on. Definitely recommend them for your HVAC needs!
BUYER BEWARE! BUYERS REMORSE! I hired George and Stay Cool Heating & Cooling as I was looking for an honest & reliable contractor who I could count on for years to come. After installing my replacement HVAC equipment last summer, he and his team were nowhere to be found. George had promised to assist me in claiming my state-funded rebates and even insisted that he’d take care of it due to the amount of paperwork they ask to submit. Upon the months following my install, I could not get a call back from George or his team via his direct cell phone or calling the main number to the office trying to follow up on the rebates. Voicemails and messages were left unanswered. Only 5 months after the installation did George return my call and offered to send me a check for the unfiled claims with the state (you have 180 days to file from install). Still nothing was sent to me. One year later, I spoke with George again after leaving a very frustrated voicemail and he repeated the same, that he would send me a check. Two months after this phone call, still nothing was received. I see a lot of positive reviews here so I’m not sure if you all have received your rebates with George’s help and this is just some form of discrimination against me. This is an easily resolvable situation but has ended up with much frustration. I would not recommend George and his team to anyone.
This review is long overdue, but as we sit here enjoying our A/C in 90-degree heat -- we are reminded how wonderful George & his team were to work with! Last summer, in the heat of August while 9 months pregnant, we called George for an estimate. Our home had window units that just weren't cutting it! He was very responsive & spent a good deal of time looking over the property talking through the options with us. In the end, we decided to go with a mini-split system & we couldn't be happier! George helped us plot out the exact location of each unit to ensure it didn't interfere with our overall aesthetics of the house, and his team took great care in installing them. When we ran into some issues filing for our energy rebate from the state, George jumped in to help on that too. You'll be in great hands with Stay Cool, highly recommend!
Last month George and his crew installed a mini-split system in our house and we could not be happier with the experience. Their work was top notch and they were very professional. The price was reasonable too especially considering they're the only Diamond -certified Mitsubishi installer in the area. Beyond that, the crew was super nice, respectful of our home, and very easy to work with. I can't recommend these guys enough!
George at Stay Cool is the man! Fast, friendly, and fixed our circuit board issue at a very fair price. Would not hesitate to call them again for anything Heating and Cooling related. It's rare to find companies like this.
Stay Cool did a great job on my new HVAC system. Very professional, answered all my questions. George didn’t make signing up for an expensive yearly maintenance service a contingency for providing a 5 year service warranty, like many other HVAC companies did. Definitely recommend.
George, Evan & team were fantastic. We had them re-imagine and update a poorly designed central HVAC solution in our attic which serviced the 2nd and third floors of our 100 year old home. They were very creative, and solved a rather complex issue in a very professional and well-thought out manor. We also discussed air conditioning solutions for a part of our house that did not have central air/duct work. After discussing all of the different options & costs we went with the ductless mini-splits and are very happy with the decision that we made. All of their work was of extremely high quality, very clean and priced competitively. We are very happy to have found these guys through a long internet search, and after getting a couple bids from companies we ultimately were not satisfied would be able to do the work to the standard we wanted. We would happily use and recommend George & Evan to anyone, and look forward to working with them in the future to maintain the new equipment.
I had been a customer since 2006. George T. was referred by a friend after a bad experience from other companies. George was very honest, straightforward and explain in words thats easy to understand to people who had no idea about HVAC. He help me work around my budget at that time (2006)that I don't have much to spend. I am very lucky to meet George. I know just a few minutes talking to him that I can trust him. 14 years ago, he told me that my HVAC unit that he repaired (2006)will last me at least 10 yrs or so and I was able to stretch it out 4 years more. After COVID surge slows down towards the end of May I called George again but his schedule was full and I told him that I will wait until he has open schedule to check both my heating and A/C. Finally, to make it short I have it done. As with other reviews from his customers, George and his assistant was very efficient, no mess clean installation. Takes time to explain what they did and very consistent. If you are around the area of George's Company ,I highly recommend calling him for HVAC needs.
I have been suffering all summer with inefficient, old, moldy wall units in my older condo unit. Finally the one in the living room started leaking water onto my hard wood floors and I knew I needed to make a change. I found Stay Cool on line and read reviews and decided to call. George came over, recommended the size, brand and time for install and quoted me a price. Not only did they show up on time, the install could not have been more professional. Not a speck of dust was left behind, George explained the entire system, took time to show me how to work the remote and guaranteed my system for 12 years. We so often pine for true professionals that will do a job correctly, not overprice you and guarantee their work. George runs an exceptional business, honest and experienced. We needed a new AC system for our new home. We decided to go with a Mitsubishi mini split system, and contacted a few contractors. George from Stay Cool came in with a very competitive pricing. He even ensured that we will get the maximum available rebates for us with a system we can easily afford. We scheduled an install in the middle of a heatwave. George showed up as agreed, and they finished the job in less than 2 days. We now have a very cool house, and a local business we will recommend to anyone looking for a new air conditioning system.
