Best Heating & Plumbing Company in Portsmouth Area! Mack is the Bomb! He came to our home to help support us with a natural gas appliance/ fireplace insert and every company or supplier told us we could not purchase replacement parts for it but Instead had to replace the entire I it... NOT 🚫, Mack was able to save us money because he fixed it and he was polite, on time and everything you could want in customer service
I had a recent problem with my split air conditioner. Pettigrew responded to my inquiry quickly. Mack came today and did an excellent job diagnosing and repairing the issue. He was professional, efficient, and solved my issue quickly. Mack did a great job and I would definitely recommend him and Pettigrew for any HVAC issues.
Very impressed with John and his crew! We had a new bathroom remodel in an older house and they did an amazing job of merging the new and old system perfectly in a challenging configuration. Joe, Dante, and Tony did the rough-in work, all were friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Very happy to offer a solid recommendation for work well done by a well run company! We recently bought a place in Portsmouth that needed a lot of work, both plumbing and heating wise. We selected Pettigrew because of their existing reviews and because they came highly recommended from the Portsmouth community. Their service is prompt, exact, professional and pricing is as to be expected. We especially enjoyed working with Mack on our heating problems - he didn't stop working until he found a solution that worked. Highly recommend!
We called Pettigrew Plumbing to fix our shower which only had cold water. They were super responsive, very polite and professional, and quick to find the issue and provide a solution. I look forward to working with them in the future for any of our plumbing or HVAC needs.
Tony and Drew completed a shower install that was complicated by some problems with the prior work. Fixtures were all installed properly, silicone was very neat and clean, they tested everything to make sure that all was working properly, and they cleaned up the work space. Pettigrew Plumbing sent Cole to repair a leaky kitchen faucet, and install an outdoor faucet. Cole was knowledgeable, friendly and knew exactly what to do to make our repairs. Great job!

My hot water randomly went out one evening and I was concerned when I looked at it that I would be in for a pricey new hot water heater, I called Pettigrew and they sent someone right out to assess my situation. They sent Mac who was very professional and helpful, he checked the water heater and ran a diagnostic on my boiler to make sure they were properly working. He determined it was just an Igniter issue in my boiler and that everything else was fine. He called his co-worker Steve for a new igniter part and he showed right up within 20 minutes with the replacement part and Mac replaced it. He was very informative on my furnace and hot water heater letting me know what was causing my issue and addressed the issue and fixed it very quickly. My hot water is running great and I couldn't recommend a better company to call for your needs.
Mac came to clean our AC unit and did a great job. Nice guy and good service.
Johnny Mack showed up on time, actually early, and was polite and professional. Serviced my AC system for a spring maintenance/checkup, checking all components and washed/cleaned the outside condensor and AC now ready for the summer. Also gave me advice on how to keep outside unit clean throughout the summer.......... Thanks. Great job.
In an age where prices are inflated, services are sub-par, and companies are unresponsive, Pettigrew was a WELCOME change. They immediately got someone out, arrived on time, called beforehand, Scott was super professional and respectful. Affordable pricing and job done quickly. Would absolutely use them again.

Tyler and his crew installed an LG minisplit heat/airconditioning unit at our home in Cape Neddick ME. The unit has two wall mounted consoles to cool/heat two bedrooms. The crew arrived on time, with all needed parts for the install. Tyler clearly described the work planned and any options we needed to pick on the install to deal with the layout of our house. The crew then very efficiently proceeded to install the system. They performed a large amount of work, very professionally, in 8 hours spread over two days. My wife remarked how much work the crew performed in those 8 hours. The system worked as promised and will solve my cooling/heat problem in the two bedfrooms. Eric, the manager of this division for Pettigrew, sold us the system. Eric was very knowledgeable and informative about our options and followed through before during and after the install. I received three estimates for this job and Pettigrew was the lowest. Overall, a very pleasant experience!

We engaged Pettigrew for help with some settlement that was occuring around the foundation of our external home AC unit. Their service is as good as the reviews suggest; I contacted them, they returned my call the same day, they showed up when they said they would AND Mac, their technician, was incredibly helpful. He offered an alternative "fix" to the problem we were encountering and it was a far more economical solution. Thank you Mac and team. Highly recommend!
I called Pettigrew Plumbing and Heating and was able to get an appointment the very next morning for an annual cleaning and maintenance of the boilers in my two condo units. Mack, who was both friendly and professional, was able to service both units and email me an invoice as well as give a follow up call in record time! Seamless process! Pettigrew is the most trustworthy, reliable and friendly plumbing and HVAC company I have ever worked with! John responded to a call with a pipe that was gushing water at our house many years ago when no one else picked up the phone and we have been loyal customers ever since. Mack, Steve, Eric, John, Karen, and others have been so helpful. Would highly recommend!!
