Reno Heating & Air Inc installed a Mitsubishi heat pump at our home in Reno. We found their services to be accessible, knowledgeable, and helpful at all levels including the bidding process, administration and billing, scheduling, the actual installation and securing a county permit and inspection for the project. We chose the company because of the technical knowledge the technician demonstrated during the bidding process and the depth of experience of their technicians on the ground. The technicians who installed the system were competent, courteous, and worked quickly and efficiently. They clearly communicated the timing and process of the installation and arrived on time, left the premises clean and respected our home. In all, we would highly recommend Reno Heating & Air!

Our split system stopped working and was installed by previous owner through Reno Heating & Air Conditioning. They ordered the wrong part the first time. It then took them 2 MONTHS to get the correct circuit board from the manufacturer. They constantly said they would get back to us or give updates but never did until we left 5+ messages with them. They threatened to charge us for the piece and not go through warranty for it. The technicians twice said they don't know how to fix it and what they told us is different than what Katy would say happened or what their diagnosis when she would call later. Her clerk told us they had the piece and set up a time for us only for Katy to call us a couple hours later and tell us otherwise. We eventually got the piece and technicians came over and they couldn't fix it. The technicians admitted they were not familiar with our system and 'googled' how to do it. After over two months of trying to work with them to get it fixed, they told us to kick cans and find someone else. They have been unresponsive and rude on the phone. Looking at other reviews, this seems to be a recurring behavior for them.

I recommend this company without reservation! My home was built in the 60s. In the last few years it became obvious that I needed a new heater and ducts. I was told to get estimates. Once I talked with John Trevino of Reno Heating & Air Conditioning I knew I wanted his company. He is so knowledgeable. He explained the new technology that exists today. I now have an all new HVAC system that includes air-conditioning. His crew is so easy to have around. I couldn't be happier with their work.

At the beginning of COVID-19, Reno Heating and Air Conditioning provided my building with state-of-the-art UV filtration to protect my staff of 40+ and client base of over 14,000. I believe their expertise and special-filters kept everyone safe and healthy during the pandemic. I’ve had heating and air conditioning emergencies at my home which their technicians came through for my family and I as well. As with most small businesses where the owners are actively involved, professionalism and quality permeate throughout the day-to-day operations. Owners Katy and John were very courteous and kind. However, similar to a few other Google reviews, their business was slow and non-responsive to my inquiries and requests. John provided me a quote for a gas fireplace with installation, but my emails and calls about scheduling an installation went for weeks without replies. After three attempts, I chose another business.

We had them install a whole-house humidifier by Honeywell Home in our house. Over the next 2 years, it leaked through the ceiling in 5 different areas and we finally had enough, so we had them remove it completely. They did repair and repaint all the damage that was caused, but as we are likely selling our house soon, we will have to disclose that damage on the disclosure documents. We expected some sort of refund of our installation payment, but RH&AC said that was up to Honeywell Home. They told me that the Honeywell Home sales rep would need to see the installation in person, but due to COVID they could not come out. Apparently, a Skype video was not good enough like with everything else, so I am caught in the middle with this. RH&AC will not give me the contact info to talk to the sales rep at Honeywell Home and now RH&AC is not even returning my calls. Any company can perform well when things turn out right, but customer service is what you need to do when things go wrong. RH&AC points the finger at Honeywell Home and Honeywell Home points the finger at RH&AC. BUYER BEWARE ON BOTH OF THESE COMPANIES!!!

I had my 40 year old furnace, AC, and water heater replaced, and a gas fireplace insert installed. Of the three quotes I received Reno Heating & Air Conditioning had the best price on the most complete service. The crew overcame some obstacles during the installation, but they always kept me informed and were able to get everything installed on my schedule despite Covid related supply issues. I couldn't be happier with the final installation. My whole house is now reaching the temp set on the thermostat, and my first bill was the same as last year, despite the new gas fireplace that I use every day. Thanks John and Crew for making my home so much more comfortable!

STAY AWAY!! This is, by far, the worst business I have dealt with. It has been THREE YEARS since I called them to replace a heating and air system in my apartment, and I am still trying to get them to fix the system they installed. I have had no AC or heat. I have space heaters heating my place right now. They won’t return my calls or texts which is extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. They originally installed a $9,000 system that didn’t work and we eventually had to get a much cheaper system installed and it still doesn’t work. And I haven’t seen any reimbursement to that money. Their office is a mess and lacks organization, which is a red flag as to how they run their business and treat their customers. STAY AWAY!!!

Called and set up a quote to put in a gas fireplace. The gentleman was prompt and nice. He said he would email some brochures and send me some quotes. He sent the brochures and asked questions. Then crickets for days.. finally emailed asking about the quote. Said he was working on it and I would have the next morning.. again crickets... and emailed again. Nothing. It has been about 2 weeks since my “so called quote”. Too bad companies can’t just say they don’t have time for a project.

Made and appointment to have my AC repaired and no one showed up or called. I called an hour after my appointment and they said they will call my back ASAP but nothing. Going to be a hot weekend with my 4 year old... I would have called someone else if I would have know they were flakes

I had questions regarding the product they installed. The person answering the phone referred the call to the person handling the project and they never responded after several attempts to contact them. The service people who installed were good but the installation of the gas line was done incorrectly and had to be redone.. overall not a good experience.

Reno Heating & Air not only replaced our gas fireplace, but also moved it to the center of the wall and replaced the mantel with a hand-finished, 150-yr old reclaimed wood beam! Our new fireplace and mantel are absolutely gorgeous. We have been very impressed with the quality of work and the integrity of this company. Everyone we dealt with was very professional. John and Katy have built a business that is top-notch. We would not use anyone but Reno Heating & Air for our heating and cooling needs, and we highly recommend this business.

I have been using Reno Heating and Air for many years now after using other companies to no avail. After living in my older home in SW Reno for 20 years, with my kids bedrooms freezing in the winter and sweating in the summer, the guys at RH&A figured out what our problem was and we now have a toasty warm house, now all working on the dual system it was supposed to! My fireplace flame kept going out at the end of last winter, I waited until now to restart it (having turned off the pilot light for the summer). I couldn't reignite the pilot light and figured I had real problems. I called Reno Heating & Air, they suggested just a maintenance check and I was willing to pay for any repairs they discovered. Turns out the pilot light issue was user error - Roger sat me down and showed me how to do it. He then diagnosed the flame going out as a simple fix to the on/off switch. He completed a thorough maintenance on the unit and assured me everything looked fine, even offered, for a low price, to replace the on/off switch. Within about an hour, the fireplace was up and running! Costly disasters averted! I would recommend Roger and Reno Heating & Air in a heartbeat...and, in fact, already have to a neighbor!

ONE ONE STAR AS I CAN"T LEAVE ZERO STARS. Probably the worst company I have ever done business with! We are a property management company in the Zephyr Cove area. We asked them to come look at 2 of our vacation rentals as the fireplaces were not working. They came out and looked at one and said we needed a new gas valve. We said okay. They ordered the part and were supposed to install it. Then, head out to our other property which has a similar issue. It is now 8 days past the day they were to install our part! Every time we call, which is about 7 calls so far, we get an answering service who is not even local that takes the same info from us every single time and says " I'll have someone get back to you asap. This company which will NEVER see my business or any of our clients from here on.
