Poor customer service. Tune ups not done right. No Freon added, never cleaned out fan unit and skill set different with every technician sent out. Find someone else
I first heard of KBS from a neighbor and received a quote from them concerning a full installation of a new AC system (including new ducts). They were very helpful giving me the different options I could choose (minisplits vs central AC vs heatpumps), pros and cons of each, and even encouraged me to do some of my own research regarding different brands and capabilities. If there was a particular brand/type of AC unit I wanted, they would install it (some companies only install 1 or 2 brands). I received a great quote from them that was significantly cheaper than others I received. The installation service was a smooth as it could be with zero issues. The installation techs were very professional, on time each day, and very friendly/knowledgeable. I asked an abundance of questions at each stage of the install, and I received in depth answers to all of my questions. They went over in detail their plans for where everything would be located, and then asked my opinions on those locations before drilling holes. The install wasn't disruptive at all and was a very clean, easy job. I highly recommend KBS and would gladly hire them again for an AC install.

I used this company for the first time after someone recommended them. Our furnace pipe had burst the night before we were about to get some very cold temperatures. They came out that night and found a way to get the pressurizer we needed and extra part. The employees who serviced us couldn't be more pleasant and professional. That sincerely wanted to try to help us. And we appreciate it. And despite the bit of a crisis we were in, KBS didn't take advantage of us with super high pricing. They came back the following week to give us very overdue service (our fault) and we will be using them annually form this point further.
Kermit B Schulz & Sons Inc. replaced my (2) original HVAC systems with (2) new heat pumps. Before we decided on the heat pumps, they took us thru the pros and cons of each option including why we should not waste the money on adding 1-2 additional heat pump(s) on our top floor. Their foreman Brian is one of the best - friendly, knowledgeable, thorough, and professional - and the work they did came out excellent and clean. I would highly recommend!
We initially called Kermit Schultz & Son’s to have service done on our very old gas furnace. They informed us that the system was original to the house and while it was still working, we should consider a new system, which we already knew. We called around to a few other local companies to compare and they all stated the same thing. The only difference was Kermit Schultz & Son’s took the time to explain the “why’s” and took the time to answer all of our questions. There was no pressure. Their customer service, attention to detail, and genuine concern for their customers is what made them stand out from all of the other companies we had received estimates from. We would highly recommend them to anyone and would use them again. They made you feel like part of the family.
They installed two heat pumps. The work they did was very clean and professional. They made sure everything worked well and explained the working of the thermostat. Excellent workmanship and very professional!
I had an aging AC system and of course during the hottest stretch of the summer it went down, Kermit Schulz & Sons came out and first tried to get my system up and running and was able to get one of the 2 units running. The next day I met a rep for the company and he inspected the house and system requirements and gave me a quote within 24 hours. The install was scheduled and done within 10 days. As is my luck, one of the brand new units had a faulty part that needed to be ordered and the installer called and explained and could not have been more accomodating given the situation and actually gave me his personal cell # to call if I needed anything. I could not have had a better experience and would highly recommend this company if you need repair or replacement of your heating and AC. KBS installed a heating and cooling system that supplied the first floor, and a newly renovated basement of my Victorian home. It was a custom install because we did not want the duct work to intrude on the ceiling height They fabricated duct work and were able to put the ducts behind the walls where they were totally hidden. Great work and quality.
KBS has serviced my HVAC system for several years now. They recently replaced a broken AC Unit. They are always extremely knowledgeable and professional. Very happy with their service.
The entire team is very professional and responsive. We have an older home and had an old HVAC (heat and AC) that needed to be replaced. The location and access to system was tricky. Chip and his team analyzed the situation, provided very competitive bid and replaced the system in a timely and efficient manner. They also installed new thermostats for all zones that will help us be more energy efficient. Highly reccommend them!

Kermit B Schulz & Sons are a truly professional company. We lost our HVAC system in the middle of winter and their service reps made it to our house within a hour of our call. When it was determined through a complete diagnostic that we needed a new system, heaters were brought to help us stay warm. Chip Schulz then came out to prepare an order for our new system. He was very familiar with our system because he installed the originals when the condos were built. Chip explained everything he was doing, and took the time to help us fill out paperwork for rebates with MassSave, and gave us information to obtain financing with a local bank that works with MassSave. Chip did his best to expedite the delivery of our new system from the manufacturer, and when received the crew from Kermit B Schulz were out the next day. All the necessary sub-contractors needed to finish job, had been scheduled previously and were right on time. Our entire HVAC system was removed and replaced expeditiously in about 7 hours. Kermit Schulz performed an outstanding job, cleaning up after themselves, and walking us through the correct operation. We are so glad that we dealt with Kermit B Schultz for our HVAC needs, and we were treated almost as family, and we have no concerns about their knowledge, professionalism, and social skills, that each and every team member who came to fix our problem, we felt went above and beyond to make their customers happy, and to assure us of a system that they 100% stand behind. Our temperamental 9 year old heating system went out for the first time in December of 2020. Our normal service technician took a look at our Slantfin and told us our heat exchange had cracked and we needed another system completely. It wasn't adding up so we reached out to a friend for a referral to another company. We contacted Kermit B Schulz and Sons to grab a second opinion. Immediately we could tell the difference as they worked with us to identify our warranty options with Slantfin only to find that we were lied to and the system needed separate repairs. Multiple repairs, multiple trips, and a ton of effort by Brian and we were back up and running. This past January our heat went out again. This time, a totally separate set of error codes and right before temperatures were dropping into the single digits. The day before the coldest day of the year, Mike from KBS found the part we needed in another part of the state, picked it up, and installed it that day. The most important thing you can have when your heat goes out in the winter is a company you can trust. That is KBS. Old school, family oriented, they go above and beyond to do right by their customers. Can't say enough good things about this company.
Kermit Schulz installed a new AC system for my 2nd floor. Dan responded to me fairly promptly but could only do his best with an estimate of when the work could be done due to the pandemic. The system was installed in November, too late to be tested, so they will hopefully come first thing in the spring to turn it on. The installers were prompt, polite and neat. I would use them again.
I had a new gas furnace, cooling coil and condensing unit installed. Sales was prompt and quick with their scheduling. Management updated me with the install timeline. The technicians were friendly and informative. The install went as scheduled. I am very happy with the installation. I have been a customer of KBS for many years and will continue to be a customer. Everything was scheduled on time including the material, permits, the electrician as well as the plumber for the gas hookup. Flawless execution and I am extremely happy with the results.
