I had a great experience with Anthony Prosper my technician today from Boston Standard. He was very professional and knowledgeable about the work he was doing. He replaced my thermostat with an updated version and capacitor on the roof unit quickly and efficiently. He was also very friendly and took the time to explain everything he was doing. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for an HVAC technician.
We just moved into the Boston area, and the former owners recommended Boston Standard - they've been wonderful! Our technician Joshua Cassidy is amazing - professional, knowledgable, helpful and patient with our questions. We're confident in his recommendations and evaluations, and he's refreshingly honest and upfront about costs/suggestions. Their maintenence plan isn't the cheapest, but it is more about peace of mind should something happen - and it already has a few times. Every time they've been extremely quick with same-day repairs and techs to the house. Highly recommend!
Excellent responsiveness and good quality communication during the proposal phase. On time project start and mostly according to plan installation. I was unable to be present at the end of the installation and found when I returned that the system was not working. This required a re-visit by an installation foreman to correct the situation and brief me on the system's use. A return visit by the electrician was also necessary to check out and confirm functionality of the backup system. Communication about all this at the end of the project could have been better. Follow up: service call when one ac unit failed. Very prompt response and the issue was resolved within a couple hours. Poor wiring connection does raise a question about the quality of the original work.
Next time, I have to install ductless/ducted heat pumps for HVAC and water heaters, I will reach out to these guys (specifically, Renato, Artur, Ledi, and Gio). We spoke to four other contractors and these are the guys who actually followed through on their word to get us a quote. Once it got down to doing the work, they communicated clearly, were specific & transparent, showed up early or on-time, cleaned up every day, and managed their subs effectively. Their payment plans were courteous to say the least. These guys are what five stars actually look like.
A really positive experience. New England Ductless installed a ducted heat and AC on our 89 year old home - no easy task. They were very responsive, prompt and worked professionally. Highly recommend NED.
I contacted this business for a quote on an a/c replacement. It took longer than promised, required multiple follow up requests on my part, and the quote came in much higher than expected. If you’re looking for a business that will cost more than you want and work slower than you prefer, you found the place.
Thomas was on time, kind and professional explaining the steps of the maintenance and the findings. Reliable company, very professional and technicians cover their shoes in the house and do a very clean job !
I called them to get pipes tested in order to get my gas turned on. They quoted $1300. I recieved another quote from a different company $450 and ultimately got the job done for $350. There are ridiculously expensive. owner responded there may have been some confusion. I called back as requested and got clarification that in fact my quote was $1800 and $700. In addition they later sent me a bill for a canceled appointment to look at my AC that they installed for $14000 that has never worked since the day they did it.. They should be offering to rectify the problem not charge me more. The receptionist was VERY condescending. This is not a good company.
we had two ducted heat pumps installed in our house.Chris and his assistant Morchine were excellent. They were very professional, answered all of my questions in a friendly and detailed manner, thoroughly cleaned up after the job was complete. I especially appreciated Chris walking me through the details of the system and alerting me to potential trouble spots.
Everyone I dealt with at New England Ductless were excellent. Everyone from Nolan who was our original contact and estimator to Giovanni who helped manage the rebates and billing to Samy the master installer and Pedro his apprentice who did an unbelievable installing the systems and did a better job than I could have ever expected. Bravo!
Great crew. With better scheduling (if that’s even possible with the different specialists) they might have been in and out in less days, but overall they finished the job in the time they proposed. So far we’re happy with the results of their hard work.
Always very responsive, professional and accommodating on the phone. Jeff, the technician who came over, is very respectful, professional (he was the one who solved the problem also the second time!) and transparent explaining all the different options to customers who don’t know much about AC or heating stuff!. I’m happy with this Company and the way they respect customers and honor their word when something is not done as expected, always there to help. Will definitely recommend them!
This would be my third time with Nolan Turner of NE Ductless aka Boston Standard. My own home and my restaurant. He knows exactly what needs to be done to ensure a effective install. Professional and personable! Great service Nolan! I would absolutely recommend asking for him by name if you are looking for mini splits! Thanks again Nolan, Nikki Blunch
I had a great experience with this company—first time using them for cooling needs. I needed a quick estimate and they sent someone out within a day. Nick Nasuti, their project manager, was very professional, thorough and attentive. He made sure he addressed all our questions and concerns about our proposed project. What I was the most impressed with was the fact that Nick really listened to us and seemed genuine with his advice. No hard sales here or anything like that. We told Nick what we needed and he delivered a quote within minutes. Lastly, Nick also followed through with a phone call and email a couple days later to make sure he hadn’t left any questions unanswered. We also had a great experience with Larry Furbish, their Sales & Marketing Coordinator. He also was very professional and pleasant on the phone and he really tried his best to accommodate us as much as possible. In the end, we had an amazing first impression and overall experience with this company and their team. We’ll sure be using them when we’re ready to take on our project in the not-so-distant future.
I’ve been a customer with Boston Standard for the past three years but cancelled my membership today. Over the past two weeks I’ve experienced very poor service including inexperienced plumbers and bad workmanship. The company did send a more experienced plumber to fix the issue but only after I complained. Additionally, the price gouging is completely out of control. I needed a new hot water heater and received a quote for over $9k (including shutoff system). A different plumber is at my house doing the same work today for $2500. If you hire Boston Standard to do work, be prepared to be taken advantage of. I will not be back.
Nate was excellent, he arrived on time, was very professional, and also helped explain best practices to keep my A/C and heating units working well. Would definitely ask for him to come back!
I noticed that my central air was blowing very little and warmer than usual air from the vents. I panicked thinking it would take weeks to find a technician to come out in June. I called Boston Standard and was pleased to hear they could send someone out in 2 days time (which happened to be a Sunday). Their technician, Josh Cassidy, came to the house and clearly explained the problem the unit was having and even though my unit is extremely old he did not pressure me to replace it. He gave me an honest evaluation and provided both long and short term options. He was pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend calling Boston Standard if you are experiencing any problems with your AC.
Love Boston Standard. Anthony came by for an annual service of the Air Conditioning/boiler system and he couldn't have been better. Filled us in every step of the way and kept us updated with pictures/detailed notes. He arrived on time and spent the full day with us. Incredibly friendly and professional service - in the Boston area, BSC is the best!
After trying a few other companies for a repair issue, we were referred to Boston Standard by a neighbor and the service experience with Brian Mason was exceptional; his professionalism, diagnostic expertise, recommendation and response time. Our repair required a few visits which was managed in a timely and efficient manner. The company provides a multitude of photos, diagnostic reports and pricing options after each visit so the entire process is transparent and clearly explained to the customer. And they were always pleasant and nice to us. I highly recommend requesting Brian Mason for any diagnostic issues as we will do going forward. We’ll also be signing our annual service contract with them. As my neighbor observed, they’re on their game.
It was a classic “bait and swith” with the whole purpose to up-sell the repair. I contact them to have the floater replaced.on my toilet, they asked for pictures of the mechanism, which I provided, the quoted me a price of $149 and after they came they said it was going to be $480. When I asked them why, the technicians response was, and I quote,” because it is a business”. When I asked what do you mean he said, “well this is a 1st lever repair and the fixed price is $489”. I called the office, explained the situation to them and they said, because we don’t know what kind of repair the floater was going to be, we could not quote the exact price, but when I asked him what is the cheapest repair on a toilet for the floater, he agreed it was a 1st level repair for $489. But of course nothing like this was mentioned before they came. Classic “bait and switch”. Let me come over, will not tell you the true minimum charge is $489, and after I charge you for coming out, I will hit you with the BIG number. My advise, GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY, save your money and the frustration.
