McCrea was the installer for my mom’s new home and has been on an annual maintenance program with them for three years since it was brand new. She was told her service contract would prioritize her in the event of a service call. Her unit stopped cooling and was blowing warm air for the last 24 hours. Given the area is under severe heat the service calls we’re getting overwhelmed from all HVAC companies. However my mom called and left a message with after hours for an emergency service around 7am today. She’s in a 55+ community and is in her 70’s. She was told someone would reach out about the service call later today. Around 1pm she called and they had no record of her being in need of service. And told her she would have to wait 5 days until they could get to her again. Or to call Saturday morning for after hours emergencies. Remind you that she pays a premium for their annual service contract and this is how they treated her for emergency service. We called Arundel Cooling & Heating. They were overwhelmed with calls and said they had no openings. But then said because of her age they’ll make sure she gets seen today. The issue has been fixed and she didn’t have to sit in a home over 80 degrees for 5 days. We will NEVER recommend McCrea ever again. Anyone can maintain regular service checks but when it comes to customer service, when it’s needed most, call Arundel Cooling & Heating. They’re local and will treat you like family.
Had new HVac system installed. Job done very well The service representative were professional and knowledgeable.
I selected all the attributes because this company presented itself with extreme knowledge about what HVAC system was appropriate for our home and HVAC useage. They did not try to sell us a system we did not need. The installers was polite and I enjoyed their professionalism! Great job McCrae! You owe that team a pat on the back! V/R Mike and Chae
My experience with McRae has been great! They easily beat the competition in price, and their estimators and installers were professional, timely, courteous, and cleaned up the job site. It was all I could ask for in a contractor!

Fantastic experience with McCrea Heating & Air Conditioning. They work with Costco and were very professional, clean and timely. Price was competitive, but you can't argue with excellent service.
Installers were both friendly and knowledgeable. Found a minor issue and corrected it. Very smooth operation!

Arrived early as we requested and completed work efficiently to accommodate our schedule. Crew was courteous, respectful, efficient, and looked out to protect our property and home during their work. Everything was explained adequately and followed up to check that everything was working and to our satisfaction. Great service and we highly recommend McCrea Heating & Air Conditioning.
I bought a house through Khov and Mcrea was their HVAC company. They put an under powered single unit on a 4 story townhouse. As a result there is a temperature differential of over 10 degrees between bottom floor and the top floor. I have complained a multiple time and have been told it’s within allowed limits. What a scam.
Their hours say they are open, no one answers! I'm without heat for three days! Shark attack music while waiting for an agent to answer the phone. Good at selling! Service is terrible!
The absolute worst service I've ever experienced. After a month of calling & waiting for call backs we're still without heat. If there are any other avenues to warn others about this company I'm certainly going to exercise using them all. They clearly have no regard or feelings whether families freeze due to their lack urgency or inexperience to prioritize.
My Pentair heater is under warranty, so they called this company out. When I called them to schedule the apt, I told him we were on vacation for a week. He said he didn't need me here. I get back from vacation... a week later and realized my 22,000 gallon pool has been heating up for the past week. I called to let him know my electric bill was going to be sky high. He said, well I assumed you wanted you pool heated like most people. I said... did you forgot I was out of town for a week? Why would I want my pool heated for no reason? He said he remembered, and took no blame or didn't offer to rectify the situation. Extremely upset. Ridiculous to leave a pool heater on.
Appointments are really far out, and then they just keep rescheduling you. First call, they scheduled me 5 weeks out. Day of the first appointment, they called me 3 hours into the arrival window asking to reschedule. Day of the rescheduled appointment, they called me an hour before the window asking to reschedule again. Now today they called asking to reschedule me yet again. I can understand the first time being an issue with someone calling out sick - even the second I gave a pass, but this is just unprofessional at this point especially for those of us having to plan our work schedules around the appointment
Terrible service. Brand new construction and several of us located in Potomac Overlook in National Harbor had little to no Freon in the units (they said it was because there was no way for them to balance it since it was a winter installation). My neighbor has drywall and water damage as a result of their installation issues. There was no QA prior to the HVAC system being turned on. This is the 2nd time I'm having them out to balance and check the system. The person on the phone was condescending... the technician only documented that he looked at 1 unit when that was not the case... he looked at both units when he was here.
I arrived home after a trip to an air conditioning failure. My usual repair company could not come out for 8 days. I contacted McCrae. The person answering the phones was efficient, kind and professional. They were able to fit me in for a same day repair. The technician they sent out diagnosed and fixed the problem in less than an hour. He wore a mask for safety and was careful to wear shoe coverings and other measures to keep my home clean. The pricing was very fair. They’ve earned a new long term customer.
Patrick and Michael were great. They were extremely patient with me while I asked several questions. They did not make me feel rushed and explained everything thoroughly. Awesome customer service!!!!!
Price seemed high for the work but because the company would not break out labor verses material costs it is difficult to evaluate or make comparison with other companies. Also, found the paperwork confusing and monumental. I think paper work should have been shown prior to the job not after completing the work! Still waiting for copies of what I signed. I had a complete Heat pump system installed which included new return ducting to help reduce noise from the main fan coming on line. I am still in the evaluation mode
