Pros: fast service. They fixed our AC in the same day we called saying it was broken. Correct diagnostic. The blower motor was correctly identified as broken and a replacement part was on standby a short trip away. We knew the cost of the fix before it was performed. Cons: PRICE. $1524 for a blower motor fix and nothing else. The part costs $300 and he was here for 3 hours. That means Colony made $400 / hr on us. I'm not even sure doctor's make that hourly. We were given the choice to not have the service done and only pay $125 for the diagnostic in fairness. When you have no AC and it's hot out they know they've got you. The receipt intentionally doesn't break down parts cost and labor cost. It just says something vague like "diagnostic + specialized parts" presumably to hide the extremity of the price. I'll try somewhere else next time, especially if it's not an urgent fix.
The crew arrived on time. They removed the old HVAC system and installed the new one quickly. And they cleaned up after themselves

The team that installed both my air conditioner and furnace were amazing, thoughtful and professional. After the install you couldn’t even tell that they were here, they cleaned up everything! The office is always easy to work with, phone calls are always returned in a timely manner- great customer service!
The technician was early, which was great! He was very friendly and informative! He explained the issues we had with the AC, and made sure I was informed on how to keep maintenance up myself. He did a great job!

Had a problem with what Colony said was a past due amount when actually it was covered under warranty. Never sent me a statement so I was unaware of it until I needed service. They fixed it promptly .Recent service call went A OK> .

We have trusted Colony for the last few years since we bought our house. We have used them for plumbing, heating, & ac repair. John is typically our service guy, & we couldn't ask for a better one! He is polite, punctual, friendly, & very knowledgeable. We know there are a lot of choices out there for these services, but will continue to use Colony as long as they continue to put people & service first.

I contacted Nick for an estimate to hook up a gas line for my patio fire table. The landscaping crew had buried the poly pipe previously. I received advance on multiple installation options and the quote once I made some decisions. Josh did the hook up, and took the time to ask me questions along the process to make sure the finished product is what I needed.
Alex called in advance and came at the date and time promised. He communicated what was needed and what he had done, including the price of repair, at the conclusion of his inspection. He cleaned up after himself and was kind and courteous.

So glad there’s such an amazing company in Cedar Rapids to handle complete changeout of furnace and AC units. My comfort consultant Matt helped me so professionally with my needs and concerns, and knew what to recommend for my home. Colony got my scheduled for the changeout very quickly, which is good when a person has health issues. Lorenzo and Connor completed the installation today, and it’s nice to have great working AC after limping an old 26 year old unit along. The 2 mentioned techs that did the install are so courteous, knowledgeable and kind. They took great pride in their work and were so careful not to make a mess in my home or the yard and cleaned up all traces of the old unit before they left. I chose Colony because a good friend had them do a complete changeout in their home 3 years ago. Colony is close to my home, and has a good service and repair staff should that need arise in the future. Would definitely recommend this company to anyone!
