Quoted us $800 to replace a water heater. Ended up billing us for $2600 when all was said and done. Water heater FAILED within 12 months. Called another company to fix and found out Oehl purchased the DIY water heater from local Lowe’s. Not the professional grade.

Oehl has been quick to respond in a number of issues I have had. I had to have a water heater replaced in two different homes and each time they made it easy to schedule and the removal and installation went quickly. The techs are knowledgeable and friendly. Next I woke up to a 50 degree house when the thermostat was set at 68. Again, within a short time they were able to make an appointment, diagnose quickly that a nest was blocking my air intake, and do a check up on the furnace. I will always make Oehl my first call for plumbing and heating.

Had called a few other places and Oehl was the only one who could fit me in quickly. Kelly heating basically told me to pound sand since I didn’t have a service contract. Came out the next day, fixed my ac and had a new capacitor installed in about an hour. The skills required for the job are what you pay for and the value is good. They, unlike many, did not push for me to get an entire new unit when it wasn’t needed. A trustworthy bunch, I would use them again.

This company was amazing! We called them in the morning and by noon they had the problems with our AC fixed! They have fast, friendly service, were very communicative, and the man who came in our home wore a mask and was kind to my toddler who kept following him around. I couldn't recommend them more!

We had an issue with our AC unit on a hot Friday night. By the morning it was 85 degrees in our apartment and we were worried no one would be able to fix it until Monday. Our landlord reached out to Oehl Plumbing, and Zach was able to help out immediately getting our AC running again. He was very professional and informative! 10/10 would recommend! Thanks Zach!

It was a hot July night.. I was alone at my house scared and slightly anxious. I went to use my garbage disposal and bam! She stopped working.. nervously I called around and finally settled on contacting Oehl. The next day I had a young gentle show up at my door. Late 20s, semi fit, brown hair, not very tall though. He asked what the problem was and I walked over and pointed at my dirty little garbage disposal. He took a look at it, and within 20-30 minutes had it fixed. Very professional, competitive pricing for sure. 10/10 would recommend. Not only did he fix it but he also went over proper maintenance.

Contacted them for a Leaky tub faucet, rusty plate, and drain. They set up an appointment pretty quick, and fixed the leaky faucet. They took had to take a trip and after all was said and done my tub was still leaking the same as it was before and they left my place super dirty. I asked the plumber how much he though it was going to be he said no more than $500 which I thought was pretty overpriced considering they were unable to fix the problem and only spent a couple hours at my place. I didn't receive a bill for few months and when it finally came in it was $642.66. Total rip off. I would not recommend Oehl to anyone. Stay away!

Call any other company. Even though the website says "Coralville" they will charge $50 for a travel charge and then a minimum labor amount of $89. To make things worse, the tech left after 15 minutes saying that they could not fix the problem so they sent my request elsewhere. Skip the $140 middle-man and call a different company right away.

Didn't show for any of their set times, called the tech three times and got pushed back each time finally showed the next day around noon. 15 min visit and charged an outrageous fee. Do not use these unprofessional crooks

During the recent freeze, our furnace stopped giving heat, although the fan worked. They showed up, and diagnosed the problem which was NOT with the furnace, but with the way the townhouse is built, with the exhaust pipe on the roof allowing some moisture in, which froze up, causing the heat valve to stick. They climbed into the attic, and did what they needed to do to loosen what was frozen, It took several hours to work through all the things that it could have been inside the furnace. It takes a lot of experience to trace a problem so far from where the problem seems to be, and to then fix that. On top of it, the bill was incredibly reasonable. When you're up against it, as we were, with the temp in house plummeting, it's good to know where to find these guys. We bought the furnace from them six years ago, and would do that again too.

If you have the choice Id call someone else! Had these folks sent to my property by Home Shield , two very inexperienced techs spent the better part of an hour on the phone with a third party going over how to diagnose the issue. The Techs left in the middle of the service call to go get the trucks oil changed. The Techs came back some time later with the owner who was very rude and talked down multiple times to his employees while cussing at them. Supposedly had the issue fixed ...Started having the same problems, called the office to have them tell me there was other problems and that they refuse to take a look or further work on the unit because of it being a warranty Claim. Have since had Colony Heating and Cooling out to fix the Issue.

Oehl came to our house March 1, 2020 to look at a problem with our fireplace. They charged us $149 and said they would have to order a part. They came back on March 30 with the new part and charged an additional $529. We didn't use the fireplace much until this November. By December, it was showing the same problem with which we originally called Oehl. We were just told that they would charge another service call to check out the problem and that the part was only warranted for 1 month. What a waste of nearly $700! I will NOT recommend this company to anyone.

The work they did was very good, they do know what they are doing. Problem was, he worked on things I didn’t ask him to look at and felt misled by the price, had extreme sticker shock. I wouldn’t be afraid to use them but get the accurate price upfront.

Nice gentlemen that did the service. However, I paid for them to clean and service my furnace and two gas fireplaces. They never even turned the fireplaces on and the furnace is now making a noise it didn't before. I was not confident they were as I knowledgeable as I would hope. In addition they did not let us know which half of the day they would be coming and I had to call twice to get the service scheduled.

customer service was above and beyond Expectations. I contacted the owner on a Saturday Evening hoping for a quick fix over the phone. We were beyond the quick fix. I advised I would call and make an appointment for service Monday morning. I called Monday morning at 8AM. The person that answered phone asked for my name and advised me I was on the schedule already (awesome), she also advised that the Technician was in route to my house. Before I got off the phone The Tech was at my door. That is customer service. I would recommend their services to anyone. Thank you.
