Needed a part for my AC - called Indianapolis Supply and the gentleman who answered the phone was very friendly and helpful. Drove there and picked up the part I needed for under $50.00 and had my AC going in no time.
Gave us a time frame of 3:00-5:00. Called at 4:30 to see if they were still going to make it out. Got told the tech was held up at another job and would be out around 5:30-6:00. It’s now 6:47, no phone call and no one has shown up.
Called to find out if they had a capacitor in stock and the gentleman stated they did. However, when I asked about the price he stated he would need to take it up the register to find out. I politely asked if he could check the price for me and that I was willing to be placed on hold but he quickly told me NO as he was to busy to go to register to check the price on the part. The worst customer service I ever experienced. I rather go to Shorty’s as he was more than willing to provide me all the info + price even if did not have it in stock but could order it.
They sell to the public! And they're open on Saturdays! They had the part I needed for my 20 year old Bryant in stock and at a very fair price. John was knowledgeable and patient with my overall hvac ignorance.. They have much more than just hvac supplies. This is the true definition of a hardware/supply store. I would highly recommend Steve Couch HVAC. They now have a customer for life.
Excellent knowledgeable staff!!!
Yes I called this company after I talk to three to four different companies and I told him what I needed and the result was they sent their installer out with a gas furnace I told them I needed an electric upflow furnace that was equivalent to 80,000 BTU with a possible have to have a wire pull so the second go around they come out with the furnace got it installed my girlfriend was here and she called me said they was finished and I asked her what the receipt said and she told me they installed a 15 KW with heat Handler so I called them and told him that's exactly what was in the house prior but they assured me that this was the right size so on December the 15th I made a phone call they took my name and stuff down never got a response they're installer called me and again said that was the biggest furnace could put in with the size of wire I told them that it had to be a possible wire Pole my October bill was over $450 my November bill is $650 approximately they put in the wrong furnace cuz I called the manufacturer they said it should have been a 20 kW put in my house and two other companies said the same thing the furnish they installed is too small back when they first installed it and I questioned them and December the 15th when I called them same thing they're trying to push a heat pump on me I said no so hopefully they respond to this and we can resolve this cuz I would weather resolve it between us
Best prices on installs
They just did a complete install for me (A/C, Furnace, Coil, and flushed the lines of the old R-22). I had just about given up and just got an A/C and left the 28-year-old furnace to luck, because of the prices I got from local companies and online. Glad I stumbled across Indy Supply, because their quote was by far the best of the seven or eight companies I talked to, and Nick and George were very good to work with. George the installer was very professional and he obviously knew his stuff. It started raining pretty hard and it was getting late and I was getting worried he wouldn't be able to finish. He gritted it out and got it done, and I couldn't be happier with the product. I haven't had central air in five years, and we all (humans and pets) are very grateful.
I love this place. Reminds me of the hardware stores I grew up with. They have always had the older parts I've needed for HVAC needs. From a transformer for an 86 Intertherm to a capacitor for a 2001 Carrier system.
These folks are a lifesaver for the HVAC DYIer. Its nice to be able to buy HVAC parts without getting gouged by the local heating and air company.
Had what I needed to get the central air working again!
Great prices, knowledgeable staff, and they will sell to the public. I drove down here on a Saturday from Lafayette to save myself over $700 on a simple repair to my furnace. We will now be ordering all our parts here.
I've gone here for years getting my keys made and picking up little stuff here and there. I finally asked about some duct work I needed done. I knew they'd have the parts but I found out they couldn't install them for me. I let Steve know that I couldn't fit myself into my crawl space. Well, then he called someone that could. Now my duct has been repaired and I plan on having the rest of my duct work replaced by this guy I was introduced to by Steve. I can't thank him enough and I definitely plan on finding a reason to visit Steve real soon. So I can personally thank him again.
The communication was great no surprises. They did exactly what they said they would for a good price. I was impressed and will use them again.

Fantastic small hwd store. Service is above and beyond. I highly recommend Decatur Hwd.
It was great. Very friendly. Lots of stuff I needed. I am so happy to have this store in my community.
Local place with tons of different hardware and tools. The cashier is helpful but lingers around you a little to long . I like to look for a while before I decide if I want to spend money .
Nice people cheap prices
