I called Williams Stoker a couple weeks ago to perform maintenance service on the Buderus boiler for the radiant heating in our basement. The technician was on-time, answered all my questions, and left the area perfectly clean. I was happy to find a quality company to service for our boiler because other companies often can't service them at all or charge an arm and a leg.
Great experience! My repairman, Marcus, was knowledgeable and quick at finding the problem and fixing it. Would highly recommend this company to others.
I thought I left a review for this company back in 2020 but apparently not, so understand that my review is SOLELY about my experience working with them between 2020-2022. I have no idea what they are like now. However, it'd be hard for me to believe that they aren't the informative, professional and timely crew they have been during those two years. I talked to quite a few people here, but I feel like I may have talked to Caroline more than a couple others (Andrew and Brittany). Our association had a new hot water boiler installed before I moved in, and they would come out annually to check on it. I don't remember any of the techs' names. I just remember they patiently explained the process of inspecting the water boiler and answered any questions I had (just to understand the process). But my five-star review is especially because there was a time in my unit when it was absolutely freezing. I thought it was just me until a couple other owners complained about the heat too. The Customer Service people had many suggestions for how to better assist with heating so it was even throughout the building instead of being super hot with some units and cold in others. If I ever needed individual service with them, even if the new condo board worked elsewhere, it'd 100% be with Williams Stoker if I could. They're just a really solid company. Thanks for everything.
Recently had to replace the heating system for our building. The new system was up and running in under 2 days…Jose, Kevin, Josh and the entire crew were extremely professional, knowledgeable and helpful…answered all my questions and did an impeccable job… I would recommend them in a heart beat.
Isaac was a rockstar! Followed up on another companies repair job and discovered why the condensation pump was functioning but the system as a whole was not working! During that also solved a 20 year mystery that had others from his company and several others stumped and then told us about a Peoples Gas rebate to fix the problem!
My Technician Jose and his Co Worker David did a great job replacing my commercial water heater . Excellent communication and a skilled professional installation . Instructions on using and maintaining the unit were clear and easy to understand .
I received a referral from a friend and asked three firms for bids. Wms Stoker returned the fair bids for a high- efficiency Peerless boiler and a standard Dunkirk. Steve Mirabelli was cordial and friendly as we discussed the virtues of both options. The Dunkirk was placed and completed in two days. Our tenants could not be happier with the tropical steam heat in their apartments, and we are very pleased with Steve and the installation team.
We had an emergency situation at the building at about 8:30 pm on a Friday evening and the boiler was not turning on. I called and left a message with the answering service. Kevin Schaefer from William Stoker heating called me back within half an hour and asked me a few questions and troubleshooted the issue. He said that the boiler was not turning on as the water level was too low. He then guided us over the phone to add water to the boiler and got the boiler up and running. Kevin’s professionalism and his commitment to customer satisfaction was amazing. William Stoker Heating has professionals who are well trained and know what they are doing. They are the experts in servicing steam and hot water boilers and I would not go to anyone else. I also had great experience with Steve Mirabelli, the service manager, who really looks out for customer’s interests. He would take my calls even on the weekends and help me resolve my problems. He has not only satisfied me but delighted me on several occasions. The work culture in any organization is dictated by the leader and under Dittmar’s leadership William Stoker Heating is poised to go places. Keep it up guys!!!
Our buildings boiler had a complete meltdown. I was referred to this company after several people had reached out and mentioned how great of an experience and value they received from Williams Stoker for their boiler installation. Not only did Steve, Jose and his partner do an amazing job, they also had beat out the competition on pricing, honesty and professionalism. Every step of the way the guys took the time to educate me in a way where I could share with residents what to expect and give them confidence in knowing that we will have hot water for many years to come. This is a service that is quite pricy, but even with that, Steve got us the best deal and was able to assist us with a plan that worked for our budget. Thank you guys! This is a craft and art that you don’t see too much of anymore, these photos don’t do the crew enough justice.
Mike & Kevin from Williams Stoker did a great job! Our boiler was not 20 years old like I thought, but ~45 years old, and cracked going into a cold snap. They got a new boiler and worked from 9A to 9P to put it in right and prevent any further damage to our home. Pleasant, professional, and thorough, they explained what they were doing and made us feel safe again in the Chicago winter. Thanks guys!
The only person at that company worth anything in that business is Colin. Dittmar and Kevin the owners are the rudest, most mysogynistic most disrespectful people I've ever contracted with in my life. I had a new heat pump installed and they were contracted to also correct some existing piping problems with the existing relatively new boiler at a combined cost of over $22,000.00. Kevin was rude beyond belief. When any questions were asked or something that wasn't installed properly or worse not to code which was the case with the conduit they installed for electrical, and then pointed out, Kevin became outright despicable. They corrected it but I paid the price for knowing code and how it was agreed to be installed in the first place. I am an architect with 30 years of interior architecture and design experience. I don't have one bad review or complaint in that time. I may not know everything but I expect a company to at the very least, be respectful and decent. There work was ok but they didn't finish the details that would have completed the job properly. Once they were paid it was goodbye, we are done with you, and good luck getting them back! Don't use them if you need them to come back to correct something or just simply finish a job. And especially don't them use if you want any type of professionalism and any respect as the consumer. It won't be pretty if you do.
Our condo association considers ourselves fortunate to have Steve Mirabelli and his team at Williams Stoker managing and overseeing our steam boiler and heating system. They are extremely professional, experienced, reliable and responsive. We’ve been most impressed by Steve Mirabelli’s outstanding service, expertise and high standards and cannot recommend them highly enough.
We live in an old Greystone 2-flat with a boiler heating system that was installed about 12 years ago. Both floors are heated by the boiler/radiator system. For years, we have not been able to figure out why the upstairs was not heated well compared to the downstairs or other parts of the building. We have to increase the temp high just to get the upstairs warm. We asked the company ( which shall be nameless) that installed the system to help us figure it out. This company also serviced the boiler every year and every year we ask the same question with no success. Their reps are fine but not very experienced. Finally, we called Stoker for an evaluation. Right away you could tell the rep who came out was very knowledgeable. he checked the upstairs and downstairs radiators, the boiler system itself and said everything looks great, it’s an excellent system. And we are doing everything right. He recommended a simple adjustment, turning off one of the radiators by the thermostat. And I’ll be damned it’s made all the difference! We will be using Stoker from now on. Highly recommend them.10 stars.
I moved into a building and the pumps on the boiler system were failing causing all sorts of noise in our first floor apartment. Steve and Colin from Stoker managed it all and fixed the issues. Just as important their professional courtesy and caring of a resident was phenomenal. I highly recommend the company and professionals who work there.
William Stoker heating is staffed by a bunch of first-round draft picks--starting with Dittmar & Steve. These two are surrounded by highly-trained team of professionals: Juan and his crew showed up at the 3-flat we live in to remove the deteriorated, unreliable boiler. It was an amazingly clean and surgical removal; Jose, David, and Kevin were there for the next two days making sure the boiler would be installed before the cold snap took hold--they connected the pipes and added new shutoffs with skill and exactness that sacrifices neither form nor function; Andrew came to hook up the electrical on Saturday afternoon and stayed until after 8:30PM on a Saturday night to ensure we had heat! Above and beyond, but very much appreciated. Bottom line--they are an amazing crew of great humans who happen to be the ultimate boiler whisperers. Look no further, this is your heating company.
Our furnace was not working and Kevin did a great job in locating the problem and fixing it. He came in the time frame communicated. He was very professional and quick. I have been a customer for over 20 years and will continue.
Not all superheroes wear capes. Some come dressed in their William Stoker uniforms. Some go by the names Mike and Collin. This review is a small highlight of my appreciation for their services. Using their spidey sense; Mike and Collin (or as I affectionately refer to them as Batman and Robin who is who is up to the reader of this review); discovered the source of what can only be described as a loud hammering sound in my building’s ceiling. This dynamic duo worked tirelessly on a three day re piping project. Their work in my boiler room was nothing short of spectacular especially given the sweltering August heat. William Stoker will continue to have my business largely due to their dedicated and knowledgeable team. Highly reccomend!
I have said this before, whenever and wherever I can: Williams Stoker has rescued me a number of times since I moved into my old, steam radiator-heated house. They have been incredibly responsive, their people work incredibly hard (under trying conditions, for example, my dark, unheated basement when the boiler died, during some god-awful winter cold), and they’ve been very fair in their pricing. A nice Ber of times, I was desperate and they could have gouged, but that isn’t their way. They’re honest and skilled and masters of their craft and I give them an A++++++++ all around!!!
I have used their exceptional services for the past 22 years since 2000 for thermostat installation , heating system repairs and complete heating system installation twice with new boilers . Truly professional Co. with good value and trust. you can rest assured with their expertise and good knowledge of heating especially for the windy city winters. Outstanding and exemplary.
